Choose the HONOR Magic8 Pro if you want a conventional flagship; choose the HONOR Magic V5 if opening your phone into a larger screen matters more. These are category picks, not winners of a directly comparable test: available coverage supports different use cases, but does not establish one HONOR phone as objectively best across camera, battery, performance and value. Price, stock and model availability also vary by country.
Best HONOR phones by what you need
| Pick | Best suited to | What the available evidence establishes | What to verify before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| HONOR Magic8 Pro | A premium conventional phone with flagship components and a high-resolution telephoto camera | HONOR UK lists a 12GB+512GB configuration, MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS, a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. TechRadar’s review, published April 4, 2026, describes it as a powerful all-rounder. | Local configuration and price; camera results, battery life and software support for your market. |
| HONOR Magic V5 | A foldable that opens to a larger display for tasks suited to more screen space | HONOR lists a 7.95-inch inner display and 6.43-inch outer display. Its UK page specifies a 5820mAh typical battery (5690mAh rated), up to 66W wired charging with the original SuperCharge charger, and 50W wireless charging. | Folded comfort, open-screen app behavior, durability, warranty and repair access, and whether the wireless charger is included. |
| HONOR 400 range | A model range to investigate if neither flagship form factor or price fits | TechRadar’s 2026 HONOR buying guide covers the range, but that coverage does not establish current availability in every country. | Exact model, configuration, current local price, warranty and software support. |
The table combines manufacturer specifications with attributed independent coverage; it is not a head-to-head laboratory ranking. HONOR’s global directory also lists the Magic V6 and Magic8 Pro, but a global listing alone does not confirm that a particular model is on sale in your country.
Choose the Magic8 Pro for a conventional flagship
The Magic8 Pro is the clearest fit if you want a traditional, non-folding phone and prioritize flagship hardware. HONOR’s UK specification page lists a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside 50MP main and ultra-wide cameras. Those are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of image quality in every lighting condition.
TechRadar’s April 4, 2026 review characterizes the phone as a powerful all-rounder. That is an independent reviewer’s assessment, not a result from a standardized comparison across HONOR’s lineup. Treat the camera hardware and the review verdict as useful starting points, then look for comparable photos and battery measurements if those are decisive for you.

Check configuration and software in your country
HONOR UK lists a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. That listing is regional; do not assume every market sells the same configuration or has the same software rollout. Confirm the exact model, storage, supported network bands and update policy with the local HONOR page or seller.
Choose the Magic V5 for a foldable screen
The Magic V5 is the fit for readers who want a phone that opens into a larger display. HONOR lists a 7.95-inch inner screen and a 6.43-inch outer screen, as well as a Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. A larger open display can suit reading or multitasking, but specifications alone cannot establish how well individual apps use it.

Understand the listed size and battery figures
HONOR UK gives different folded dimensions by color: its Ivory White version is listed at about 217g and 8.8mm thick when folded; other colors are listed at about 222g and 9mm. The same page states 5820mAh typical battery capacity and 5690mAh rated capacity. These are not independent measurements of endurance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHONOR lists maximum wired charging power of 66W when using the original SuperCharge charger, and says the wireless charger is sold separately. The global product page also lists 50W wireless charging. Confirm charger compatibility and what is included with the regional package rather than assuming an accessory comes in the box.

Evaluate the foldable experience, not just the screen size
The listed dimensions, battery capacity and charging support do not establish crease visibility, long-term durability, real-world battery life or repair costs. Before choosing a foldable, check independent assessments of folded comfort, hinge and screen behavior, camera performance, app layouts, and warranty or service availability in your country.
Consider other HONOR models only after checking local availability
TechRadar’s 2026 buying guide covers the Magic V5, Magic8 Pro and HONOR 400 range, offering a useful map of categories rather than proof that every model is currently purchasable everywhere. HONOR’s global phone directory lists the Magic V6 alongside the Magic8 Pro. Lineups can differ by region and change over time, so verify the exact model on your country’s HONOR site and with local retailers before treating it as an available alternative.

How to make a fair comparison before you buy
- Decide on form factor. Choose between a conventional phone and a foldable first. Compare how you use a phone day to day, not just the largest advertised screen.
- Compare cameras using real results. Look for consistent main, ultra-wide and telephoto samples in daylight, low light, portraits and zoom. Megapixel counts and zoom specifications describe hardware, not the finished photo.
- Separate battery specifications from endurance. Capacity and charging support are published figures; screen-on time and charge time require measurements under stated conditions. Do not treat one as a substitute for the other.
- Verify performance and software for your market. Check the exact processor, installed software version, update commitments and rollout status for the regional model you can buy.
- Compare the complete local offer. Confirm price, storage, seller, stock, warranty and service options for the exact configuration. A model’s global listing does not establish any of these locally.
What the rankings can and cannot tell you
The Magic8 Pro and Magic V5 suit different priorities: one is a conventional flagship candidate, the other a foldable with a larger internal display. The specifications cited here come from HONOR’s product pages; the independent coverage cited here provides category context and a reviewer’s assessment of the Magic8 Pro. The available material does not establish a single controlled test across these phones, so it cannot support a universal performance, camera or battery-life winner.
