Start with the annoyance you notice every day. Use QuickStar to reduce status-bar or Quick panel clutter, Home Up to reorganize the launcher, and One Hand Operation+ to put common actions under your thumb. Add RegiStar when shortcuts or a cleaner Settings page are the priority. Leave Theme Park, LockStar, and Keys Cafe for appearance or keyboard preferences unless those are the problems you are trying to solve.
Good Lock is modular, so you do not need to install or configure every component. Samsung India Support describes it as “a suite of customization apps for Galaxy users.” The best first change depends on your Galaxy model, region, and One UI version because Samsung does not expose the same modules and switches on every device.

This is a practical order based on each module’s documented purpose, not a head-to-head user test or an official Samsung ranking.
Before changing anything in Good Lock
Check compatibility first
Open Good Lock on the Galaxy you intend to customize and inspect the module list shown for that device. Availability can differ by Galaxy model, country or region, and One UI release. A module can be listed while some of its controls are absent on your particular software build. Samsung’s support material also notes that supported Good Lock models and module lists can change.

Install Good Lock and its modules from the Galaxy Store when they are offered for your device. If Good Lock or a specific module does not appear, do not assume that a hidden setting or an alternate download will make it compatible; the region, model, or software version may not support it.
Make reversible, one-at-a-time changes
Change one or two related options, use the phone normally, and then decide whether to keep going. Record the original arrangement of a panel or launcher before making a major change. Home Up includes a Home-screen layout restoration function on supported versions, which is useful if an experiment makes the launcher harder to use.
Expect labels to move after updates
Good Lock modules are updated separately from One UI. Read the current description and options inside the installed module rather than relying on a menu path written for another release. A control shown in a guide may be renamed, moved, or unavailable after an update.

QuickStar is the first stop when you dislike a crowded status bar or want a more useful Quick panel. Samsung documents controls for hiding selected status-bar icons, changing the Quick panel theme and button grid, and separating panel access. The exact switches depend on the device and software.
Set it up
- Open Good Lock and select the module area that lists customization modules.
- Install and open QuickStar if it is offered for your Galaxy.
- Review the available status-bar and Quick-panel sections before enabling anything.
- Hide only icons that do not convey information you need, then close and reopen the panel to check readability.
- If your build offers a button-grid or panel-access control, change one setting, test both portrait and landscape orientations, and keep the familiar arrangement until the new one feels natural.
Samsung’s current QuickStar listing includes One UI 8.5-specific panel features and notes a temporary limitation affecting a grid control. That is a concrete reminder not to treat a screenshot or an older tutorial as proof that the same switch exists on your phone. If a grid, theme, or separate-panel option is missing, use the controls currently shown in your module listing.

When not to start here
QuickStar will not reorganize your home screen, change keyboard behavior, or create a back-tap shortcut. If the status bar is already acceptable and your real complaint is reaching buttons on a large phone, move directly to One Hand Operation+.
2. Use Home Up to make the launcher work for you
Choose Home Up when the home screen, app screen, folders, or recent-apps view feel inefficient. Samsung lists layout options, popup-folder styles, recent-apps window customization, share-window editing, and Home-screen layout restoration among its functions.
Adjust the launcher methodically
- In Good Lock, install and open Home Up if it is available.
- Open the section for the part of the launcher you want to change: Home screen, Apps screen, folders, recent apps, or share window.
- Change one layout item first, such as the grid or folder presentation, and return to the launcher to check icon spacing and reachability.
- Open several folders and the recent-apps screen before making another change. A layout that looks tidy in a preview can make labels or app switching less convenient.
- If your version provides restoration, save or use the Home-screen layout restore option before experimenting with a broader redesign.
Home Up’s controls are not universal. A Galaxy may show only some of the documented sections, and an update can alter the available grid or folder choices. Treat restoration as a fallback for the supported layout data, not as a promise that every launcher detail will be preserved across a One UI change.
A useful starting rule
Fix structure before decoration: make the grid, folders, and app-screen flow comfortable first. Theme colors and icon treatments are easier to judge after the launcher no longer wastes space.
3. Use One Hand Operation+ for reachability
One Hand Operation+ is usually the most useful early change for a large Galaxy or for anyone who often operates the phone with one hand. It adds configurable gesture handles along the screen edges. Samsung documents assignments such as Back, Home, and Recent apps; Samsung’s Japanese guide also gives Quick panel and screenshot actions as examples.

Create a small, reliable gesture set
- Install and open One Hand Operation+ from Good Lock when the module is supported.
- Enable a left edge, right edge, or both, then place the handle where your thumb naturally reaches it.
- Assign only the actions you already use often. A practical first set is Back on a short swipe and Home or Recent apps on a different direction.
- If your version offers them, test Quick panel and screenshot actions before assigning more gestures.
- Adjust handle width, height, and position until the gesture activates deliberately without catching normal scrolling.
Begin with one edge if accidental activations are a problem. Keep at least one familiar on-screen or hardware route to the same action while you learn the gestures. This module is a reachability aid, not a replacement for every navigation method.

4. Add RegiStar for shortcuts and Settings organization
RegiStar is the next logical step when you want a shortcut rather than a visual change. Depending on the device and software, it can support back-tap or side-key actions and can reorder or group entries on the Settings home page.
Choose an action you can remember
- Open RegiStar from Good Lock and inspect which shortcut categories your Galaxy exposes.
- If back-tap customization is available, choose a deliberate action such as opening the camera or capturing the screen, then test the required tap pattern.
- If side-key actions are listed, review the existing behavior before assigning a new one so you do not lose a function you use for power, assistant, or emergency access.
- Use the Settings-organization tools to move frequently visited sections near the top or group related entries, then confirm that search still finds them.
Samsung’s regional guides describe camera and capture examples, including back-panel screenshot customization, but support is device-dependent. If the back-tap or side-key section is absent, that is a compatibility limit rather than a missing permission you should force.
5. Personalize appearance and keyboard feel only when those are your priorities
Theme Park for system appearance
Theme Park is appropriate when colors, icons, and panels are the main reason you opened Good Lock. Its documented customization includes the Quick settings window, volume panel, and icons. Create a restrained theme first, check contrast in both light and dark conditions, and keep the stock option available while you decide whether the new colors remain readable.
LockStar for the lock screen and Always On Display
LockStar targets the lock screen and Always On Display rather than the launcher. Use it to adjust the elements Samsung makes available on your build. Check the result after notifications arrive and after the phone times out; an arrangement that looks clean with no notifications may become crowded when several alerts appear.

Keys Cafe for Samsung Keyboard customization
Choose Keys Cafe first if typing is your daily frustration. Samsung documents controls for keyboard layout, size, style, and effects. Change size or key arrangement before adding visual effects, then type a normal message and use punctuation, numbers, and the space bar to verify that the new layout is practical.
These three modules are optional. Move one ahead of QuickStar or Home Up only when visual style, lock-screen layout, or keyboard comfort is genuinely the problem you want to solve.
Targeted modules for audio and camera complaints
Sound Assistant
Sound Assistant is a focused choice for per-app audio settings or multi-sound behavior described in Samsung’s regional guide. It is not a universal first change: install it when you have a specific audio scenario to configure, and check which controls your Galaxy exposes.
Camera Assistant
Camera Assistant adds configurable behavior to Samsung’s Camera app. Start there when the camera’s operation, rather than the launcher or navigation, is the source of frustration. The available controls depend on the Camera app, Galaxy model, and software version.

Prioritize frequency over novelty. A switch you use dozens of times a day is a better first experiment than an impressive option you will see only occasionally.

Compatibility, updates, and common fixes
A module or option is missing
Confirm the Galaxy model, country or region, and One UI version, then read the module’s current Galaxy Store or Good Lock listing. Samsung explicitly warns that supported models and feature sets vary. Do not copy instructions from a different release as if they were universal.
The change appears not to work
Return to the module and verify that the option is enabled, then test the exact screen or action it controls. Some changes affect only the Quick panel, launcher, lock screen, or Samsung Keyboard; they will not alter unrelated parts of One UI. After a major One UI or module update, review the settings again because an option may have moved or been replaced.
A gesture triggers accidentally
Reduce the handle size or move it higher or lower, disable one edge, or assign fewer directions. Keep Back, Home, or Recent apps available through the normal navigation method while you tune the gesture.
You want to return to the stock behavior
Turn off the specific option inside its module first. If that is not enough, disable or uninstall the module, using the reset or restoration control shown on your version. Home Up’s supported layout-restoration feature can help recover a launcher arrangement; other modules may provide different reset controls.
What “best” means for Good Lock
There is no Samsung-published ranking and no cited comparative test showing that one Good Lock setup is best for every Galaxy owner. The defensible approach is to match the module to the problem, confirm that your software supports the desired control, and keep each change reversible. For most users, that means QuickStar for clutter, Home Up for organization, One Hand Operation+ for reachability, and RegiStar for shortcuts before moving to appearance, lock-screen, keyboard, audio, or camera customization.
