The right Galaxy S23 Ultra case depends on what matters most: a manufacturer-documented drop test, a slim or clear look, added grip, or a way to carry a card. Samsung’s Rugged Gadget Case is the clearest choice here for readers who want a published drop-test claim; Samsung and Spigen also offer options aimed at different looks and carrying needs. These are maker-described features, not results from independent comparative testing.
Start by checking the exact phone model
Buy a case explicitly listed for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. A listing that says only “Galaxy S23 series” may cover multiple phones; do not assume a case for the S23 or S23+ fits the Ultra. Check the product’s exact model variant and confirm that the buttons, camera openings, and charging access align with your phone.
Samsung identifies eight case styles across the Galaxy S23 series: Clear Case, Silicone Case, Leather Case, Smart View Wallet Case, Silicone Grip Case, Frame Case, Clear Gadget Case, and Rugged Gadget Case. Availability can vary by region. Samsung’s S23 Ultra accessories page is a starting point for checking what is offered in your market.
Which case suits your main priority?
For a documented drop-test claim: Samsung Rugged Gadget Case
Samsung’s UK product listing identifies the Galaxy S23 Ultra Rugged Gadget Case as model EF-RS918CBEGWW. Samsung reports a MIL-STD-810G-516.7 Transit Drop test from 1.5 meters onto steel, under specified temperature and humidity conditions. That is a manufacturer-reported test result, not a guarantee that a phone will survive every fall, surface, angle, or pattern of use. See Samsung’s UK product listing for its description and test information.

- Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Only - Not Compatible with Galaxy S23/S23+)
- Multi-layer defense: solid inner shell and soft outer cover (No Built in Screen Protector)
- OtterArmor Defense protects your OtterBox case from many common bacteria
- Case Only: "Belt Clip Holster not included"
Samsung’s US Newsroom separately says the case was drop-tested to meet military-grade standards, with a footnote describing MIL-STD-810H Transit Drop testing at 1.5 meters onto steel, between 15°C and 35°C and at 0–80% relative humidity. The UK listing references MIL-STD-810G-516.7, while the Newsroom footnote references MIL-STD-810H; these are source-specific statements and should not be treated as interchangeable. Samsung notes that performance may vary with actual use and other factors. Samsung Newsroom’s accessory announcement provides the US statement.
For a clear look: Samsung Clear Case or Spigen Ultra Hybrid
Samsung describes its transparent case as a way to show the phone’s color. Spigen describes its Ultra Hybrid for the Galaxy S23 series as having raised bezels, a camera guard, and wireless-charging compatibility. Those are manufacturers’ product descriptions, not independent test findings. For either option, confirm the listing names the S23 Ultra specifically before ordering; a series-level description alone does not establish fit for every model. See Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid listing.

For grip or a carry feature: Samsung’s gadget and grip styles
Samsung describes the Rugged Gadget Case as using an interchangeable ring grip or card holder. Samsung’s support information also covers case designs with card slots, straps, and attachable stands or straps. These features can make a case easier to hold or carry, but check the exact S23 Ultra product listing to see which accessory is included and whether it is detachable or interchangeable. Samsung’s accessory support page describes the available styles.
For a slimmer, simpler style
Samsung’s case range includes Silicone, Leather, Clear, and Frame styles in addition to the more feature-focused Gadget cases. Choose by material and appearance, then check the specific listing for how much of the sides and corners it covers. The cited product information does not establish comparative thickness, weight, or protection performance across these styles, so avoid treating a style name as a protection rating.

How to compare cases before buying
- Fit: Look for an explicit Galaxy S23 Ultra model listing and check the button and camera cutouts.
- Protection evidence: Separate a maker’s drop-test claim from a real-world guarantee. Note the test standard, height, surface, and stated conditions.
- Screen and camera edges: Check whether the listing describes raised edges or a camera guard; these features do not establish performance in every impact.
- Bulk and grip: Decide whether a more substantial design or a ring grip is worth the extra hardware for your use.
- Carrying features: Confirm whether a card holder, strap, or stand is included with the exact model rather than assumed from a product-family description.
- Region: Samsung says case availability may vary by region. Check local listings for stock and the exact model code.
No controlled, independent head-to-head protection results or current cross-market prices and stock are established by the cited product information. Compare the features and claims on the exact listing available to you rather than relying on a universal “best” label.

A screen protector is an optional addition, not a substitute for a case. Samsung lists a Galaxy S23-series screen protector as added screen protection. Before buying a film or protector, verify that its listing specifically includes the S23 Ultra and that it is compatible with the case you chose; not every film-and-case combination is necessarily a fit. Samsung’s accessories page lists its screen-protection option.
