FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH and FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE are confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Square Enix announcements. FINAL FANTASY XVI is confirmed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. Square Enix also says that every mainline single-player Final Fantasy game, plus FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. These are verified examples and a broad Xbox statement—not a complete platform-by-platform list of every game in the series.
Confirmed Final Fantasy games and platforms
The table separates specific title announcements from Square Enix’s broader Xbox statement. “PC” and “Xbox on PC” are retained as the publisher describes them; they should not be read as confirmation that every PC storefront carries each game.

The first two rows are the clearest cross-platform examples in the announcements: each names Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC availability. The FFXVI announcement confirms Xbox platforms, while the broader Xbox statement covers the mainline single-player series and FFXIV. None of these statements establishes that every Final Fantasy spin-off, legacy release, remaster, or regional version is playable on every modern system.

What the Xbox availability statement does—and does not—mean
Square Enix’s June 2025 wording is broader than a single-game announcement: it says every mainline single-player Final Fantasy game, as well as FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. That is useful if Xbox is your platform, but it is not a title-by-title catalog. It does not name the games in the statement or supply corresponding PlayStation, Switch, or non-Xbox PC platform details for each one.

It also does not say that every Final Fantasy game is available on Xbox. Spin-offs and other releases are not covered by the phrase “mainline single-player” unless Square Enix identifies them separately. FFXIV is expressly included despite being an online game. For a particular game, check its own current Xbox listing rather than inferring availability from the franchise-wide wording.
How to check a game before buying
Availability belongs to a specific title and edition, not to the franchise as a whole. Use this checklist against the store page for the version you intend to play:
- Match the exact title. Distinguish games with similar names and editions. For example, the announcement concerns FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, not a blanket promise covering every release labeled FINAL FANTASY VII.
- Confirm the console generation. Look for the exact system named in the listing, such as Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. Do not assume a listing for one generation also applies to another.
- Check the PC storefront. “PC” does not identify a storefront by itself. The REBIRTH announcement specifically says its PC version is available via Steam; the cited announcement information for REMAKE INTERGRADE does not specify a PC storefront. Verify the listing where you plan to purchase.
- Choose physical or digital deliberately. Confirm that the selected listing is the format you want and that it is for the correct platform. An announcement of a game’s availability does not guarantee a particular edition is in stock.
- Check the edition and region shown at checkout. Publisher announcements are not a guarantee of regional parity, current stock, or identical editions in every market. Confirm the actual local store listing before paying.
This check matters especially when a publisher describes a title as available on “PC” or makes a franchise-wide platform statement. Those phrases do not necessarily answer which store sells a particular edition, whether a specific regional listing is live, or whether physical copies are currently available.

Availability details for the confirmed examples
FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH
Square Enix’s June 5, 2026 announcement lists Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and PC, and specifies Steam for the PC version. It also mentions a free demo on Switch 2 and Xbox. The same notice describes Streamlined Progression as optional, so the feature should not be treated as a required way to play. A demo announcement is separate from the full game’s purchase listing; check the store for the platform and version you want.
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE
The January 23, 2026 announcement lists Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and PC. Because the announcement information does not identify the PC storefront, confirm the current store listing directly rather than assuming a particular PC shop. It also mentioned a Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Play Booster with the physical Switch 2 edition while supplies lasted. That was a limited promotional inclusion, not a dependable part of every copy or a guarantee that it remains available.
FINAL FANTASY XVI
Square Enix’s June 9, 2025 notice confirms digital availability on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. It does not, in the information cited here, enumerate other platforms or PC storefronts. The separate statement in the same announcement about mainline single-player games and FFXIV should be used for the Xbox scope it actually names, not as a substitute for a complete listing of FFXVI editions across all platforms.

Why this is not a complete catalog
Final Fantasy includes mainline games, online games, spin-offs, ports, and editions that may have different platform histories. The confirmed announcements above provide strong evidence for the named games and the stated Xbox group, but they do not enumerate every legacy port, remaster, spin-off, region, or storefront. A title missing from this article should not be assumed unavailable; equally, a game’s place in the franchise does not prove that it runs on a particular modern system.
For a complete answer about one older or less prominent release, search the official store for the exact title and edition on the platform you own. Verify that the page is for the current platform, check whether it is a digital or physical release, and read regional availability details. This title-specific check is more reliable than generalizing from another Final Fantasy game’s announcement.
