Most CMF by Nothing accessories are not locked to Nothing phones. CMF publishes Android 5.1 and iOS 13 as the minimum versions for CMF Buds, Buds Pro and Neckband Pro. CMF Watch Pro has a higher Android requirement—Android 8.0—while retaining an iOS 13 minimum. The Watch Pro needs the CMF Watch app for phone-linked functions.
The CMF power adaptor is a general USB charger for most devices that support USB Power Delivery, but charging speed depends on the phone’s supported protocol and software. Watch charging docks are the exception to CMF’s broad compatibility: they are model-specific, although CMF says the Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 docks are interchangeable.

CMF earbuds and Neckband Pro on non-Nothing phones
CMF Buds
CMF’s compatibility statement for the standard Buds is “Android 5.1 and above” and “iOS 13 and above.” That makes them usable with a wide range of Android phones and iPhones, regardless of whether the handset is made by Nothing. Pairing is a normal Bluetooth accessory process; the published requirement is the phone’s operating-system version rather than a Nothing-phone model.

Treat the OS number as the compatibility baseline, not as a promise of feature parity.

CMF Buds Pro
Buds Pro use the same published minimums: Android 5.1 or newer and iOS 13 or newer. They therefore work with eligible Android and Apple phones in principle. The official FAQ establishes platform support, but it does not certify every handset or list a separate feature matrix for each manufacturer. If a specific control is important, check that the phone’s operating system allows the required Bluetooth permissions and background activity.
CMF Neckband Pro
Neckband Pro also lists Android 5.1 and iOS 13 as its minimum versions. Its phone compatibility is consequently broader than a Nothing-only accessory, but the same qualification applies: CMF’s statement sets an OS floor and does not guarantee identical behavior on every phone. Bluetooth audio may work while an optional control or notification function behaves differently on an older or heavily customized Android installation.

What Watch Pro needs from your phone
Watch Pro supports iOS 13 or later and Android 8.0 or later. It uses Bluetooth 5.3 and relies on the CMF Watch app for phone-linked features. Pairing should be started through the app rather than treating the watch as a generic Bluetooth headphone or speaker.
Features that depend on the phone connection
The watch communicates with the phone for functions that require an active app and Bluetooth link. Some Android manufacturers aggressively stop background applications; when the CMF Watch app is cleared or restricted, connection-dependent features can stop updating even though the watch itself is still powered on. Battery-optimization and auto-start settings therefore matter on phones that impose strict background limits.

Important Watch Pro boundaries
- Watch Pro does not support NFC.
- Watch Pro does not support eSIM.
- Watch Pro cannot connect directly to Bluetooth headphones.
- For music control, connect the headphones to the phone, connect the watch to the phone, and use the watch’s music function as a controller.
Those limits apply even when the phone meets the operating-system requirement. A compatible phone does not turn the watch into a standalone cellular device or an audio source for headphones.
CMF charging accessories: universal adaptor versus model-specific dock
CMF power adaptor
CMF says its power adaptor supports most USB Power Delivery-compatible devices, including phones, tablets and PCs. The adaptor supports PD 3.0, PPS and QC. That makes it suitable for many non-Nothing phones, but a USB-C plug alone does not establish a particular fast-charge rate.

The phone chooses the charging mode through a negotiation with the adaptor. A device may support only a lower-power USB-PD profile, may not support PPS or QC, or may rely on a proprietary fast-charge system. In those cases the adaptor can charge the phone at a lower rate, and a proprietary mode may not be available. CMF also notes that the maximum output can vary with the software version on the charged device. No universal wattage for every phone is established by CMF’s compatibility statement.

Watch Pro charging cable and dock
For Watch Pro, CMF recommends using the original cable supplied with the watch. The watch dock is an exclusive, generation-specific accessory rather than a generic USB charging cradle. CMF’s generation FAQ identifies one specific cross-generation exception: the Watch Pro 2 dock is the same as the Watch Pro dock and can be interchanged. Verify the exact watch generation and replacement-part listing before ordering; do not infer compatibility from a similar shape or connector.

How to connect each accessory to another phone
Pair Buds, Buds Pro or Neckband Pro
- Confirm the phone runs at least the operating-system version listed for the accessory.
- Place the earbuds or neckband in pairing mode according to the product’s quick-start instructions.
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and select the CMF accessory from the available-device list.
- Accept the pairing request and grant any Bluetooth or notification permissions needed for the functions you intend to use.
- Play audio and make a test call. If audio works but a control is missing, check the accessory’s supported app and the phone’s permission or background settings rather than assuming the hardware is incompatible.
Pair Watch Pro
- Install the CMF Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 13 or later or an Android phone running Android 8.0 or later.
- Turn on Bluetooth and keep the watch close to the phone.
- Start the add-device or pairing flow inside the CMF Watch app and select Watch Pro.
- Approve the pairing request on the phone and watch, then allow the app to send notifications or run in the background if you want connection-dependent features to remain active.
- Leave the watch connected to this phone while completing setup; a watch that is still linked to another phone may not appear during discovery.
Use the CMF adaptor
- Check the phone manufacturer’s specifications for USB Power Delivery, PPS or QC support.
- Use a cable rated for the charging mode and power level your phone supports.
- Connect the adaptor to the phone and allow the negotiation to complete.
- Compare the phone’s charging indication with its expected mode. A lower rate can be normal when the phone does not support the adaptor’s highest protocol or profile.
Replace a watch dock
- Identify whether the watch is Watch Pro, Watch Pro 2 or another generation.
- Match the replacement listing to that exact generation.
- For Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2, CMF says the docks are interchangeable.
- For any other generation, use the dock specified for that model rather than assuming cross-generation compatibility.
What to do if Watch Pro is not detected
CMF’s troubleshooting sequence is deliberately basic because discovery failures often come from an existing pairing or a phone Bluetooth problem.
- Check that Watch Pro is not currently connected to another phone. Disconnect or unpair it there if necessary.
- Use the phone to search for another known Bluetooth device. If the phone cannot detect any Bluetooth accessories, troubleshoot the phone’s Bluetooth function first.
- Restart the watch and try discovery again from the CMF Watch app.
- Open the app and install any available watch firmware update.
- Reset the watch only after the earlier steps fail, because resetting removes its current setup and requires pairing again.
If the watch pairs but repeatedly disconnects, review the phone’s battery-optimization, background-app and auto-start controls for the CMF Watch app. Some phones clear background apps automatically, which can break the app/watch link while Bluetooth itself appears enabled. How to interpret CMF’s compatibility claims
The published OS versions answer whether a phone is within CMF’s stated platform range. They do not certify every model, guarantee that every app control is present, or promise the same charging speed on every handset. Manufacturer-specific Android software, Bluetooth permissions, background-process limits and proprietary charging protocols can change the practical result.

For audio accessories, prioritize the phone’s OS version and Bluetooth support, then verify any optional control or companion-app requirement that matters to you. For Watch Pro, confirm both the OS floor and that the CMF Watch app can remain active in the background. For charging, compare protocols—PD 3.0, PPS and QC—rather than relying on the presence of USB-C. For docks, match the exact watch generation.
Bottom line
CMF Buds, Buds Pro and Neckband Pro are the easiest CMF accessories to use with other phones because CMF supports Android 5.1+ and iOS 13+. Watch Pro also works beyond Nothing phones, but requires Android 8.0+ or iOS 13+, the CMF Watch app and a dependable background Bluetooth connection. The CMF adaptor is broadly usable with USB-PD devices, subject to protocol and device limits. Watch docks remain model-specific, with Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 as the documented interchangeable pair.
