For a budget streamer who wants smooth 1080p face-cam video, the Elgato Facecam Neo is the strongest-supported pick in the available comparisons. If your spending cap is closer to $50, prices need checking first: PC Gamer observed it at $40 / £40 in its guide updated August 7, 2026, while Tom’s Hardware reported $59.99 after a reduction. Those are dated observations, not guaranteed current prices. The Logitech C920s Pro is a practical value alternative if 30 fps is enough and you want built-in stereo microphones; the EMEET Pixy is a higher-cost option for presenters who will use its tracking and reframing features.

For this guide, “budget” means a target of about $100 or less before tax, not a promise that every model currently sells below that amount. Check your local price and stock before buying. The rankings reflect cited reviewers’ assessments and specifications, not hands-on testing for this article.

Which budget webcam should you choose?

  • Best documented 1080p60 pick: Elgato Facecam Neo. Choose it for smoother motion, autofocus and a physical privacy shutter, provided you have another microphone.
  • Value for a mostly stationary speaker: Logitech C920s Pro. Its 1080p30 output is less fluid during movement, but it includes stereo microphones and offers tripod mounting.
  • For a moving presenter who wants tracking: EMEET Pixy. It offers 1080p60 and 4K30 with a motorized gimbal, but the cited price sits near the top of this guide’s budget.
  • Other models to investigate: Anker PowerConf C200 and Razer Kiyo. The cited 2026 guide identifies them as budget alternatives, but current prices and model-specific details are not sufficiently established here for a firm ranking.

These picks are aimed at a face-cam scene, live presentation or creator desk setup. A fixed speaker usually gains more from reliable lighting and clear audio than from paying extra for 4K.

Top five budget webcams for streaming

1. Elgato Facecam Neo: best-supported pick for 1080p60

PC Gamer named the Facecam Neo its best budget webcam in a guide last updated August 7, 2026, listing 1080p at 60 fps, a 77-degree field of view and a privacy shutter. That guide observed a price of $40 / £40 at the time; Tom’s Hardware separately listed $59.99 after a reduction. Both figures are historical, region-specific observations rather than current price guarantees. PC Gamer’s Facecam Neo guide and Tom’s Hardware’s assessment provide the cited details.

The Neo suits a streamer who wants smoother movement at 1080p without moving to a more elaborate tracking camera. It has autofocus and a physical shutter, but no built-in microphone. PC Gamer notes that HDR mode drops the frame rate to 30 fps and that autofocus can be slow or awkward. In Tom’s Hardware’s test, it handled the tested low-light scene better than expected but looked grainy, and it struggled in overexposed light. Results depend on the room and lighting; those observations do not establish a universal low-light winner.

2. Logitech C920s Pro: a value choice for a stationary speaker

The C920s Pro captures 1080p at 30 fps and includes dual stereo microphones, automatic light correction, an adjustable clip and a threaded tripod base. TechRadar names it its best cheap webcam overall, while Logitech lists it as a webcam for streaming and video chat. Logitech’s guide gives an approximate listed price of $69.99; treat that as a guide figure, not a live quote. See TechRadar’s C920s Pro coverage and Logitech’s webcam lineup and buying guidance.

Thirty frames per second is adequate when you mostly sit still and speak to the camera, but it looks less fluid than 60 fps when you move around or show fast action. Choose it if the microphones and mounting options suit your setup and you accept that frame-rate limit.

3. EMEET Pixy: stretch-budget option for tracking and reframing

PC Gamer’s 2026 guide lists the Pixy with 4K capture at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps, AI tracking and a motorized two-axis gimbal. It observed a price of $90 / £90 at the time. The reviewer describes it as bulky and notes that it can look overexposed near a window. See PC Gamer’s EMEET Pixy guide.

This is the specialist choice for a presenter who moves around and will use camera tracking, or someone who wants extra resolution for reframing. If your stream is delivered at 1080p or lower, 4K capture does not automatically improve the finished stream enough to justify extra spending. Tom’s Hardware discusses that resolution trade-off in its Facecam Neo coverage.

4. Anker PowerConf C200: a candidate to verify

Kocitech’s 2026 guide names the PowerConf C200 as a budget pick and describes it as 2K. The cited information does not establish a current regional price, confirm the exact model revision, or provide enough detail to compare it confidently against the first three choices. Before buying, confirm the version, available resolution modes, compatibility with your streaming setup and local price. The model is included as a research candidate, not a verified value winner. See Kocitech’s budget webcam guide.

5. Razer Kiyo: an option with built-in lighting

Kocitech identifies the Razer Kiyo as a webcam with built-in lighting. That feature may appeal if you want to reduce the number of separate items on your desk, but the cited guide does not establish a current price or compare its lighting output with a dedicated light. Check which Kiyo generation is available and verify its price and compatibility before treating it as a budget purchase. See Kocitech’s budget webcam guide.

How to choose a webcam for your streaming setup

Set a real spending ceiling first

Decide the maximum you can spend in your region, then check current price and stock for that exact model. The prices cited above are guide observations from particular dates and regions. A model that once fell below your cap may no longer do so.

Match frame rate to what appears on camera

At 1080p, 60 fps generally makes movement look smoother than 30 fps. That matters for a gameplay face-cam or a presenter who gestures and moves; a seated speaker may be comfortable at 30 fps. In this shortlist, the cited guides specify 1080p60 for the Neo and Pixy, while the C920s Pro is 1080p30. These are model specifications in the cited sources, not measurements from this article.

Choose resolution for the stream you actually deliver

A 4K camera can provide room to crop or reframe, but it is not a guarantee of a sharper-looking live stream when your destination delivers 1080p or lower. Consider whether you will actually use the extra framing flexibility before paying for it.

Plan for the lighting in your room

Camera performance depends on the scene. A dim room, a bright window behind you and even exposure from a monitor can produce different results. Tom’s Hardware found the Neo grainy in its low-light test and challenged by overexposed light, while PC Gamer’s methodology describes testing webcams in different setups. A separate light may improve a dim image more than moving to a higher-resolution camera. For the Neo, HDR is a trade-off: PC Gamer reports that enabling it reduces capture to 30 fps.

Consider focus, field of view and background

Autofocus can help if you move closer to or farther from the camera; tracking and a gimbal are more relevant if you walk around while presenting. A wider field of view includes more of the room, which can also expose clutter or distractions. Logitech’s buying guidance notes that a narrower field of view can make it easier to keep the background limited. A fixed desk streamer may not need tracking at all.

Account for audio, privacy and mounting

The Facecam Neo has no built-in microphone, so make sure you already have a suitable audio source or include one in your budget. The C920s Pro includes dual stereo microphones. A physical privacy shutter is useful when the camera stays connected but should not remain open. If you plan to use a tripod, check the exact model’s mount: Logitech lists a threaded base for the C920s Pro, but mounting details should not be assumed to carry over to other webcams.

How the cited reviews tested webcams

PC Gamer says it uses Discord, Google Meet and Zoom at each camera’s maximum supported resolution, and OBS to stream and record at full-screen and face-cam size. It also describes trying manufacturer software and manual settings, different monitor styles and cable routes, and using recent webcams for at least a few weeks. That is PC Gamer’s stated testing approach; it is not testing performed for this article. Read PC Gamer’s webcam testing methodology for its account.
