For battery longevity, enable Smart charging, Optimized charging, or nighttime charging protection if your Xiaomi phone offers one. When you need a full charge, choose Regular charging if available; to stretch the charge you already have, turn on Battery saver. These controls differ by model and software, so use the menu labels on your phone rather than assuming every Xiaomi has the same options.
Which charging setting should you use?
Choose based on whether you need a full battery soon or want the phone to manage charging around your routine. Xiaomi describes several model-dependent options, and not every phone has all of them.

The 80% threshold is a charging behavior Xiaomi documents for some devices, not a promised battery-health result. Xiaomi does not provide a general lifespan-improvement figure for these features in the cited support material.

It may be doing so intentionally because a battery-protection setting is enabled. Xiaomi documents this behavior for some models, including the Xiaomi 14T Pro and POCO X7 Pro. First check the Battery protection or charging-mode screen; an 80% stop alone does not establish that the battery or charger is faulty.

How to turn off the 80% limit
- Open Settings > Battery > Battery protection, if that path appears on your phone.
- Look for the selected charging mode. Depending on the model, it may be called Limited, Optimized, Smart charging, or another protection option.
- Select Regular charging if offered and you need the phone to reach 100%.
Labels and paths vary. Xiaomi’s POCO F6 Pro instructions also give a route through Security > Battery. If neither path matches, check the support instructions for your exact model and software version rather than treating the 80% stop as a universal fault.
Where is Battery protection on my Xiaomi phone?
Start in Settings > Battery and look for Battery protection or charging options. Xiaomi’s Smart charging instructions use Settings > Battery > Battery protection; its POCO F6 Pro guidance also shows Security > Battery. Those are documented routes for those instructions, not guaranteed menu paths for every Xiaomi-family phone.

Some devices use names such as Smart charging, Optimized charging, Regular, or Limited; others describe an 80% protection behavior. Your exact model and software version determine which controls appear.
How do I make my Xiaomi battery last longer during the day?
Turn on Battery saver when you need more runtime from the remaining charge. Xiaomi says it reduces background activity and limits power-consuming functions. On the POCO F6 Pro, it may also limit performance and location services, so some apps or features may respond differently.

Use Ultra battery saver only for stricter limits
Ultra battery saver is more restrictive than ordinary Battery saver. Xiaomi says the POCO F6 Pro mode further restricts background processes and allows only essential apps and services. Use it when keeping essential functions available matters more than normal app access.
Find Battery saver controls
The route depends on the phone. Xiaomi documents Settings > Battery > Current mode for Battery saver on the Xiaomi 14T Pro. The POCO F6 Pro instructions describe battery modes in the Security app. If you do not see those labels, consult instructions for your model and software version.
