How to make the landing work
- Pick the destination before jumping. Mark the location while still on the Battle Bus. If a hot drop appears heavily contested, switch to a nearby edge or another balanced landing.
- Land on the outside when survival matters more than the first fight. An outer building can give you a chance to collect gear before moving toward the center.
- Secure a usable weapon before extending the search. Check nearby containers, then confirm your first weapon is usable and has ammunition before moving on.
- Start planning your rotation early. Watch the storm and begin moving while there is still time. Do not stay behind just to search one more building, particularly after an edge landing with a long route ahead.
- Reassess after an Override changes the match. Epic says Override Consoles can rewrite server rules and that rare Squad Overrides reveal the claiming squad’s location. Those mechanics mean a match may not follow a fixed early-game script; pay attention to what happens in-game.
