Find the Immaculate Crown in Mornefrost Grave, in the Winterglass Lake area. Look around the large ribcage for a corpse holding it. Once collected, keep it in your inventory: a walkthrough says the Crown works passively, causing some stone hands in frozen areas to move aside when you approach.
Where to find the Immaculate Crown
Travel to Mornefrost Grave in the Winterglass Lake area and search beneath or around the large ribcage. The location is described as a body beneath the ribcage by one walkthrough and as a seated corpse by another; both point to the same broad landmark. The available descriptions do not establish a turn-by-turn route, coordinates, or enemy placements, so use the ribcage and corpse as your search cues.
NerdsChalk’s location guide places the pickup in Mornefrost Grave, while All Things How’s walkthrough describes the seated corpse and the Crown’s passive behavior.
What the Immaculate Crown does
The Crown is an exploration key item, not a combat upgrade. Mortal Shell DB classifies it as a Rare pickup and describes its effect as “Unlocks secrets within the ice.” A walkthrough gives a more specific example: certain stone hands in frozen areas withdraw, uncovering what they block.
#1 Best Overall
- THEIR FLESH IS YOUR WEAPON: The corpses of exceptional warriors are scattered throughout Mortal Shell 2’s destroyed world. Once discovered, each warrior can be possessed, awakening their innate strengths and mastered abilities. Evolve your own style of combat by harnessing the unique abilities of each warrior and unlock their secrets through the discovery of lost memories.
- CLEANSE A RAVAGED WORLD: Mortal Shell 2’s compact open world connects over winding footpaths guarded by desperate and fanatical adversaries. Players who wander are rewarded with new warriors to possess, additional story elements, powerful and strange weaponry, upgrades, curiosities and more. Step through derelict temples of ancient deities, across forbidden forests and icy graves, into citadels carved out of bone. Scattered between these lost landmarks are more than 60 dungeons, each providing a challenging test of the talents and weaponry you have collected on your journey.
- DETHRONE FALSE GODS: You control the Harbinger, a being that must reclaim the Undermether’s stolen eggs that are now ruthlessly guarded by grotesque, dangerous creatures. Mortal Shell 2’s combat system is agile and expressive. Stamina gauges are removed, and execution options have been enhanced, delivering a kinetic and chaotic dark power fantasy. Precision meets intensity in high-stakes combat.
That does not mean every stone hand moves. The guide refers to responsive, interactable hands; the available sources do not identify a complete list of them.
How to use it
- Collect the Crown from the corpse at Mornefrost Grave.
- Keep it in your inventory while exploring frozen areas. The walkthrough says you do not need to equip it or activate it with a button.
- Approach relevant stone hands and see whether they withdraw. If a hand remains in place, it may not be one of the interactable ones.
The item database’s reproduced flavor text reads: “The crown of Winterglass remains perfectly preserved. While worn, one feels a faint memory stir. A whispered message, ‘Change is the enemy. It is the small death that leads to the annihilation of infinity.’” This is flavor text reproduced by Mortal Shell DB; it is not evidence that the Crown must be worn for its exploration effect.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Looking for a stat boost: the item is described as a key or exploration item, with no supported damage or defense benefit. NerdsChalk also says it does not affect farming or the economy, but that is a secondary guide’s note rather than official, exhaustive item documentation.
- Searching for an equip or activation prompt: the cited walkthrough says inventory possession is enough.
- Expecting every stone hand to move: the guide describes only relevant interactable hands as responsive.
- Relying on unverified route details: the sources establish the area and landmark, but not precise navigation directions.
Source and platform context
The Crown’s item classification, effect summary, and flavor text come from the secondary database Mortal Shell DB. Its location and use are described by secondary walkthroughs, not an official Crown-specific guide. PlayStation lists Mortal Shell II for PS5; that platform listing does not add further item-location details.
