Start at the Freight Terminal, also called the Railyard, on Pendola Pass. Search loose loot on visible surfaces, especially the wooden ramp at the yard’s edge. Guide authors have also reported Steel Cable inside Fallen Emperor, while players mention the Observatory as another possible spot. These are reported finds, not guaranteed spawns.
Where to search first
Freight Terminal / Railyard on Pendola Pass
The Railyard is the best-supported first stop in the available location reports. An ARC Raiders Hub guide describes finding a Steel Cable lying loose on a wooden ramp at the edge of the yard during a night raid when Freight Terminal was marked as a high-value loot zone. Destructoid also names the Railyard as a place its author had found the item. Neither source establishes that the cable only appears when the zone is highlighted.
Prioritize ramps and other visible surfaces during your sweep. Destructoid’s author reported finding Steel Cable as loose loot rather than in containers, but that observation does not prove containers can never contain it.
Fallen Emperor
Destructoid reports finding Steel Cable inside Fallen Emperor, but does not identify a particular room or landmark. Treat it as a secondary search and check loose loot in the interior; the location guidance is less precise than the Railyard ramp report.

Observatory
Players in a Reddit discussion have mentioned finding Steel Cable at the Observatory on Pendola Pass. This is an anecdotal lead: the comments provide no map screenshot, item count, or independently documented rate.
How to plan a search run
- If you spawn near Freight Terminal: sweep visible loot around the yard and check the wooden ramp at its edge.
- Decide whether to continue: move toward Fallen Emperor or the Observatory only if your raid route and extraction risk make sense.
- Keep expectations flexible: the available reports do not establish a verified spawn cycle, route duration, or expected number of cables per raid. ARC Raiders is an extraction adventure with valuable loot and threats from other Raiders and machines, so weigh an extra search against the risk of staying longer.
Can you get Steel Cable another way?
Reddit commenters report that Celeste sells Steel Cable for 60 seeds. The current price and stock have not been independently verified, so check her in-game inventory before spending seeds.
