Pure Quartz is concentrated in Palworld’s snowy northern regions, with the most productive current route running through the Astral Mountains. Start at Unthawable Lake (-199, 249), continue to Research Unit Tower (-134, 575), and finish at Pristine Snow Field (-420, 461). Bring cold-resistant armor and either a Mining Level 3 Pal or suitable mining tools.
There is no published, controlled minutes-per-run test that proves one route is universally fastest. In practice, your best method depends on node density, travel time, cold protection and whether you are gathering manually or operating a Pure Quartz Quarry.

What Pure Quartz is used for
Pure Quartz is a late-progression mineral used in advanced crafting, including Circuit Boards and other technology recipes. It is not sold by merchants and cannot be crafted from lower-tier materials, so you must mine it, obtain it through supported expeditions, or produce it with a Pure Quartz Quarry after unlocking that structure.
The material is classified as a Mining Level 3 resource. A mining reference lists a yield of 38 Pure Quartz per deposit node. Actual hauls depend on how many nodes you clear and whether you leave part of a cluster behind.

Coordinates are map positions supplied by the guides; use them as search anchors rather than assuming that every node will appear at the exact center point.
The best manual route: an Astral Mountains loop
The Astral Mountains are a northern snowy region with concentrated Pure Quartz. The route below links the three named clusters so you can collect several deposits in one expedition instead of spending time searching for isolated nodes.

The current farming guide identifies nine quartz nodes around Unthawable Lake, making it the clearest first stop when you want a large opening haul. Search the surrounding rock formations rather than stopping at the coordinate marker itself. Clear every visible quartz node before moving on; returning later for one missed deposit wastes more travel time than collecting it during the initial sweep.
2. Continue to Research Unit Tower (-134, 575)
The Research Unit Tower area is described as high density. Treat it as the second major collection zone in the loop. The tower reference is a navigation anchor, not a claim that you must enter or fight the tower every time you farm. If enemies or a tower objective create too much risk for your current equipment, mine the accessible deposits around the approach and leave the combat area alone.

3. Finish at Pristine Snow Field (-420, 461)
Pristine Snow Field is described as comparatively low activity. It is still useful because it places another named quartz area on the same northern circuit, and a quieter area can be preferable when nearby activity makes a busier hotspot inconvenient. Make this your final sweep, then return to your base, deposit the haul and begin the next loop only when the travel cost makes another run worthwhile.
How to run the loop efficiently
- Equip cold-resistant armor before leaving your base. Do not rely on reaching a node quickly if exposure can drain your health during the return trip.
- Carry a Mining Level 3 Pal or mining tools that can damage resource nodes. Keep the Pal available for the entire circuit instead of returning to base between stops.
- At each coordinate, scan a broad circle for clustered deposits. Quartz is more efficient to gather in groups of roughly five to ten nodes than as isolated rocks.
- Clear the cluster completely, collect every dropped item and mark any location you want to revisit on your own map.
- Use the same order on later runs so you learn the safest approach and avoid unnecessary detours between the three anchors.
This is a density-and-travel recommendation, not a timed benchmark. Weather, enemy encounters, your mount, loading time and the amount of inventory space you have can all change the result.

The Mossanda Forest location around (211, -133) is presented as a safer bridge before you are equipped for the Astral Mountains. It is useful for collecting the 100 Pure Quartz needed to bootstrap a quarry and for making early Circuit Boards without committing to the northern snow.

- You have not yet obtained reliable cold-resistant armor.
- The northern route is taking more time in healing, recovery or evasive travel than it saves in extra deposits.
- You need a modest amount of quartz for an immediate recipe rather than a large endgame stockpile.
Move to the Astral Mountains after your cold protection and travel capability are ready. The forest is a progression alternative, not a claim that it produces more quartz than the named northern clusters.
How to mine Pure Quartz faster by hand
Prioritize clusters, not isolated nodes
The mining reference describes dense groups of five to ten deposits as efficient for bulk gathering. With the cited 38-unit yield per node, a five-node group represents 190 units and a ten-node group 380 units if every node gives the reference yield. Those figures are a simple per-node calculation, not a guaranteed timed-run total: your actual haul depends on which deposits you find and the yield behavior in your game session.

Direct attacks with mining tools and attacks from a suitable Pal are both supported. A Mining Level 3 Pal is the practical requirement to keep nearby deposits moving while you search and loot. If you prefer to mine personally, use your strongest appropriate tool and position yourself so each swing lands on the node rather than the surrounding ground.
Use area damage for tight groups
The mining reference specifically recommends Mammorest’s Earth Impact for area-of-effect utility against clustered deposits. Pairing a Mammorest Saddle with rotating Mammorest Pals can reduce the number of individual attacks needed during a manual sweep. This is a mechanics recommendation, not a measured time trial, so compare it with your normal tool-and-Pal setup in your own world before reorganizing your party around it.

Reduce non-mining downtime
- Leave enough inventory capacity for a complete cluster so you do not have to discard items or return early.
- Travel with healing and cold protection already prepared; crafting or repairing in the snow erases the advantage of a dense location.
- Use a repeatable stop order and avoid detours for unrelated resources unless you are already passing them.
- Return to a storage point before your carry weight, health or temperature becomes a problem. A shorter safe run is usually more productive than a failed deep expedition.
Automating production with the Pure Quartz Quarry
The Pure Quartz Quarry is the long-term solution when repeated manual trips are no longer the best use of your time. It unlocks at technology tier 52 after you defeat the Pal Genetic Research Unit Tower.

The initial 100-quartz cost means automation cannot replace your first manual trip. Mine an Astral Mountains cluster, or use the Mossanda Forest bridge if it is safer for your current progression, then reserve 100 units for construction.
Set up the quarry step by step
- Defeat the required tower and reach technology tier 52.
- Gather 70 Stone, 100 Pure Quartz, 30 Paldium Fragments and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts.
- Open the construction menu, select the Pure Quartz Quarry and place it inside an active Palbox base area.
- Assign Pals with the Mining suitability needed by the quarry. Without an assigned mining worker, the structure will not produce material.
- Place a chest or other storage container close to the quarry. The quarry guidance recommends nearby storage so Transporting Pals spend less time carrying each load.
- Keep the base supplied and check that assigned Pals are not being diverted by unrelated work. If production stops, inspect assignments, pathing and storage capacity before dismantling the structure.
Automation changes the fastest strategy: once the quarry is operating reliably, the best “farm” is usually maintaining the base rather than repeating a manual circuit. Manual mining remains useful for the construction stockpile, sudden crafting demands and any period when your quarry workers are unavailable.

Preparation and safety checklist for the snow
- Cold protection: equip cold-resistant armor before entering the Astral Mountains.
- Mining capability: bring a Mining Level 3 Pal, suitable tools or both.
- Inventory: leave enough room for a full cluster and the drops from travel encounters.
- Recovery: carry healing supplies and plan a return path that does not depend on surviving prolonged exposure.
- Navigation: save the three coordinates as map notes so you can repeat the loop without searching.
- Base logistics: if using a quarry, keep storage near it and verify that mining and transporting assignments are available.
Troubleshooting common quartz-farming problems
“I reached the coordinate but see no quartz.”
Coordinates identify an area, not a single guaranteed spawn point. Search around the marker, including nearby rock shelves and approaches. If you are checking a previously cleared world, allow the resource to respawn according to your world’s normal resource behavior before judging the location.

“The Astral Mountains are killing me before I can finish.”
Return for cold-resistant armor and improve your travel and recovery preparation. Until then, use the Mossanda Forest location as a safer source rather than turning every quartz run into a survival expedition.

Confirm that it is inside the Palbox base area, that at least one Mining-suitable Pal is assigned, and that nearby storage has free space. A worker who is occupied with another task or unable to reach the quarry can also prevent production.
“I need more quartz than one route provides.”
Run the three Astral Mountains anchors as a circuit instead of repeatedly mining one isolated node. For sustained demand, reserve the manual haul needed to build the quarry and shift production to the base once tier 52 and the tower requirement are complete.
Other ways to obtain Pure Quartz
In addition to field deposits and the Pure Quartz Quarry, the material can come from expeditions and the Pure Quartz Mine. These options supplement your supply, but the documented route details and quarry requirements above are the dependable planning information for deciding where to travel and when to automate. Pure Quartz cannot be purchased from merchants or crafted, so a missing field stockpile must ultimately be replaced by mining, an expedition result or quarry output.
