As of October 13, 2026, the original The Wolf Among Us is sold as a complete five-episode season on the verified Xbox and Steam listings. Telltale’s remaster is scheduled for digital release on October 29, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One (playable on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility). The PlayStation Store description says that remaster also contains the complete story.
If you want to play immediately, check the original season listing on your preferred storefront. If you want upgraded presentation and archival extras, wait for the remaster’s October 29 digital launch. Physical remaster editions are planned for Q1 2027, but Telltale has not yet announced retailers, prices, preorder timing, or the exact platform formats.

Xbox listing
The official Xbox listing is the clearest confirmation for the existing release: its product description explicitly states that all five episodes are included. Select the Xbox product page for your region, confirm that the listing is the complete game rather than a separate episode or add-on, and check the supported console information shown by Xbox before purchase.

Xbox One is also the platform named for the remaster, while Xbox Series X|S play is described as backward-compatible access. Do not assume that a listing for the original release automatically represents the remaster; read the product title and description for the specific version you intend to own.
Steam listing
Steam presents the original title as a season spanning five episodes. That season description is the relevant evidence that the standard original-game product is intended to deliver the complete narrative rather than only an opening chapter. On Steam, verify the exact product page, publisher name, operating-system requirements, and whether you are viewing the original release or a separate remastered listing after October 29.

Steam availability and pricing can differ by country. A product page that is visible in one region may be unavailable, delisted, or displayed with different purchasing options elsewhere, so use the store set to your own country and currency.
Telltale’s original-game page
Telltale’s own page for the original game lists access through Episode 5: Cry Wolf. This is useful as a cross-check when a third-party storefront uses abbreviated wording. It does not replace checking your local store’s purchase and platform terms, but it confirms that the original release was structured as the full five-part season.

What the remastered digital edition includes
Release date and platforms
Telltale’s October 8, 2026 announcement schedules the remaster for October 29, 2026. The announced digital platforms are PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. On Xbox Series X|S, the announcement specifies play through backward compatibility rather than a separately announced native Series X|S edition.
Because October 29 is still in the future relative to the October 13 information date, any page showing a preorder, wish-list entry, or future release date should be treated as a scheduled product, not proof that the remaster is already downloadable. Store pages can publish or change regional release timing independently, so confirm the status shown for your account’s region.

Episode coverage and extras
The PlayStation Store remaster listing identifies the product as the complete five-episode story. That wording answers the central completeness question for the remastered digital edition: the listing is not describing only a first episode or a trial chapter.
The same PlayStation description advertises supplementary material, including developer commentary, concept art, interviews, restored content, and other archival items. These additions are the main documented reason to choose the remaster over the original if you already have access to the older release. The available extras can vary in presentation by platform, so read the platform-specific description rather than assuming every store uses identical wording.

Remastered physical editions: what is and is not known
Telltale has announced physical retail editions for Q1 2027. At the October 13, 2026 information date, the announcement did not identify retailers, prices, preorder dates, countries, disc or cartridge configurations, or a definitive list of physical platforms.
That means a retailer page, marketplace listing, or social-media post claiming a specific physical SKU should not be treated as confirmed solely because it uses the remaster’s name. Wait for a publisher announcement or an official storefront page that identifies the platform and contents. A physical edition may be attractive if you collect boxed games or need an offline possession, but its exact value cannot be judged until packaging and included materials are published.
Choosing the right version for your situation
| Your priority | Most suitable choice | Why | Check before checkout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play before October 29, 2026 | Original digital season | The existing Xbox and Steam listings describe the complete narrative | Your regional store page, supported device, and edition name |
| Play on PS5 with the remaster’s documented extras | Remastered digital edition after launch | The PlayStation listing describes the complete story plus archival material | That the page is the PS5 remaster and has changed from a preorder to an available product |
| Use Nintendo Switch | Remastered digital edition on Switch after October 29 | Switch is one of the platforms named in Telltale’s announcement | The Nintendo eShop page for your country and the final release status |
| Use Xbox Series X|S | Xbox One remaster listing, if supported in your region | Telltale specifies backward-compatible play on Series X|S | Compatibility language and the exact Xbox product version |
| Own a boxed copy | Remastered physical edition when details are published | Physical retail editions are planned for Q1 2027 | Retailer legitimacy, platform format, region, price, and confirmed contents |
| Already own the original and want new presentation or archival material | Remaster, digital or physical depending on your preference | The remaster listing highlights commentary, art, interviews, restored content, and related material | Whether your chosen platform receives the same documented extras |
How to verify that a store page contains the complete game
- Identify the release. Read the full product title and publisher information. Distinguish the original season from the remaster and from any individual episode listing.
- Confirm the platform. Make sure the page is for your device: PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or backward-compatible Xbox Series X|S use where stated.
- Find explicit episode language. Look for wording such as “all five episodes,” “complete five-episode story,” or a season description that covers the full run through Episode 5. If the page does not explain what is included, do not infer completeness from artwork alone.
- Check release status. Before October 29, 2026, a remaster page is a scheduled product. After that date, check whether the page says available, released, or downloadable in your region.
- Review the edition contents. For the remaster, look for the documented extras if those materials matter to you. For a physical copy, wait for confirmed information about discs, cartridges, codes, and included bonuses.
- Check regional terms. Confirm currency, taxes, language information, age rating, storage requirements, and whether the purchase can be used on your account and hardware.
- Save your receipt and product name. Keeping the exact edition title makes it easier to resolve a mistaken purchase or distinguish the original from the remaster in your library.
Dates, regions, and availability caveats
The dates above are tied to the publisher and US storefront information available on October 13, 2026. The remaster’s announced digital date is October 29, 2026, and the physical window is Q1 2027. A storefront may display a local release time, tax-inclusive price, language selection, or stock status that differs from another country.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Original-game availability is also not guaranteed to be identical worldwide. The fact that Xbox, Steam, and Telltale describe a complete season does not guarantee that every regional storefront will carry the same listing indefinitely. If the product is missing from your country’s store, check the official publisher page and your platform’s local catalog rather than purchasing an unverified key.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
- Mistaking an episode for the season: Check the content description and episode count before selecting the purchase button.
- Assuming a future remaster is already released: The announced October 29, 2026 date is later than the information date of October 13, 2026.
- Confusing Xbox compatibility with a native version: Telltale specifically describes Xbox Series X|S play through backward compatibility for the Xbox One release.
- Trusting an unannounced physical SKU: Retailers, prices, preorder timing, and physical formats had not been published in the announcement.
- Ignoring regional storefront differences: Product visibility, price, language, and stock can vary by country, so verify the page tied to your own account.
- Expecting every remaster extra on every platform without checking: The PlayStation listing documents the archival additions; consult the description for the platform you plan to buy.
Bottom line
For an immediate purchase, choose the original season listing on Xbox or Steam and verify your local page; those listings describe access to the complete five-part game. For the upgraded release, the remastered digital edition is scheduled for October 29, 2026 across PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, with Series X|S play via backward compatibility. If you prefer a boxed copy, wait for Telltale’s Q1 2027 physical-edition details before committing to a retailer or platform format.
