The Kyoto Xanadu Original Soundtrack is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Nihon Falcom has announced four ways to get it: a two-disc CD, a standard digital album, a high-resolution digital album, and subscription streaming. The CD is already listed as a Japanese preorder, while digital and streaming availability is planned for release day.
Because the release date is still ahead, treat every option as announced availability rather than proof that a store has stock in your country today. Prices are quoted in Japanese yen, and local catalog access, taxes, payment methods, and shipping can differ.
Release status: announced, but not released yet
Falcom’s official announcement, dated October 8, 2026, sets the soundtrack’s release for December 18, 2026. The announcement describes a complete game-music album and names the physical, download, and streaming channels. You can read the announcement at Nihon Falcom’s official release page.
The distinction between preorder and release-day access matters. The Japanese CD listing accepts orders before launch and says shipment is expected from the release date onward. The digital stores and subscription platforms are named as intended outlets, but a service can still show a regional delay, a different catalog title, or no listing in a particular country.
#1 Best Overall
There is no evidence yet that every territory will receive an English edition, identical pricing, or international CD shipping. Use the format table below as the announced plan, then verify the live product page at the time you order.
Formats, prices, and announced outlets
| Format | Announced Japanese price | What is included or how it works | Named outlet or status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-disc CD | ¥3,080, tax included | 57 tracks across two discs | Kadokawa official online shop preorder; FalcomShop is also referenced |
| Standard album download | ¥2,750, tax included | Digital album purchase | iTunes Store, Amazon Music, mora, and music.jp |
| Individual downloads | ¥154 per track, tax included | Buy selected songs instead of the complete album | Download services named by Falcom; check each storefront for the title |
| High-resolution album download | ¥2,750, tax included | Digital album in a high-resolution release option | mora, music.jp, Qobuz, and OTOTOY |
| Subscription streaming | No album purchase price announced | Access through an active music subscription rather than ownership of a purchased copy | Planned from release day on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Qobuz |
These are Falcom’s announced Japanese prices and channels, not independent market averages. Currency conversion, sales tax treatment outside Japan, and platform fees can change the amount shown to you.
Buying the physical two-disc CD
Kadokawa’s official preorder
The clearest physical option is Kadokawa’s official online-shop listing. It identifies the product with JAN 4956027133084, marks the item as accepting preorders, and gives the December 18 release date. The listing says shipment is expected from that date onward. Open the Japanese product page at Kadokawa’s official online shop.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open the product page and confirm that the title, JAN code, release date, and preorder status match the soundtrack you want.
- Check whether the shop accepts your delivery address. The listing is for a Japanese store; international shipping was not verified.
- Review the final checkout total, including shipping, local taxes, and any import charges that the shop displays.
- Save the order confirmation and note the expected dispatch timing. The listing’s shipment expectation begins on release day, not immediately when the preorder is placed.
FalcomShop
Falcom’s announcement also references FalcomShop as a physical-CD channel. The announcement does not establish a separate price, bundle, bonus, shipping territory, or stock policy for that shop. If you use it, compare the live listing’s seller information and delivered cost with the Kadokawa page rather than assuming the two stores have identical terms.
Rank #2
- The music from the game on CD.
- Practice your game skills by listening to the music when you don't have a computer handy.
- Featuring music by Grammy-nominated artists, including Nawang Khechog, Jeff Pevar, David Darling and Carolyn Fazio.
- Other featured musicians include Chris Berry, Samite, Snatam Kaur, Therese Schroeder-Sheker and the Wild Divine Band.
What the CD gives you
The physical release is a two-disc edition containing the game’s 57 soundtrack tracks. It is the appropriate choice if you want a physical collection, a packaged product for display, or a copy that is not dependent on a download account or streaming subscription. The available material does not document a CD-exclusive master, booklet, bonus track, or other packaging difference, so do not treat those as confirmed features.
Standard digital album downloads
Falcom has announced a complete album download through the iTunes Store, Amazon Music, mora, and music.jp. This is a purchase of digital files rather than a streaming entitlement. The announced album price is shown in the table above; the amount presented at checkout can be affected by your storefront region and tax rules.
How to buy
- Open the music store you normally use and search for the exact soundtrack title, preferably after the release date if no preorder page is visible.
- Check the artist and album details before paying. A title match alone is not enough if the service displays multiple game-music releases.
- Confirm the store’s file type, download rights, and device compatibility on the product page. The announcement names the standard album but does not provide a universal file-format specification.
- Complete the purchase and download through the store’s normal library or download control. Keep a local backup if the service permits it.
Individual-song purchasing is also planned at the per-track price shown in the table. That option is useful when you only need a few themes, but the exact songs offered can vary by storefront. Falcom’s announcement does not guarantee that every one of the 57 tracks will be sold individually in every country.
High-resolution downloads
The high-resolution album is announced through mora, music.jp, Qobuz, and OTOTOY. It carries the same announced Japanese album price as the standard download, but it is a separate release option and may not appear on every service in every territory.

Check your equipment and service before buying
- Verify that your preferred store actually labels the Kyoto Xanadu album as high-resolution in your country.
- Check the file type, sample rate, bit depth, and download restrictions shown on that specific product page. Falcom’s announcement does not publish those technical values.
- Make sure your phone, computer, player, or digital-to-analog converter supports the files you intend to use.
- Allow extra storage space for larger files and confirm that your backup workflow can preserve the original downloads.
“High-resolution” identifies the announced release tier; it does not, by itself, prove a particular mastering difference or guarantee that it will sound better on every system. The official materials do not substantiate a mastering comparison, so choose this version for its file specification and your playback setup rather than an assumed sonic advantage.
Streaming availability
Falcom plans to make the soundtrack available from release day on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Qobuz. Streaming is access through a service catalog, not a purchase of the CD or a permanent download license. If your subscription ends or the album leaves a service, continued access is not assured.
How to check on release day
- Open your music service on or after December 18 and search by the soundtrack title and Nihon Falcom.
- Check the album art, track count, and highlighted song titles before saving it to your library.
- If the album is absent, search the service’s Japanese-language catalog and check again later; a regional rollout can occur at a different time.
- Use a download purchase instead if you need an independently stored copy rather than subscription access.
Qobuz appears in both the high-resolution-download and streaming announcements. Those are separate products: one is a file purchase, while the other is catalog access through a subscription.
What is on the soundtrack
Falcom highlights several parts of the album in its announcement. The title track is “桜花幻舞.” The release also includes five tracks from the “異界楽想” group, the chapter-ending theme “Still a Tiny Light,” and LinoN vocal songs “Outer Sky,” “From ‘i’,” and “ユメノサクラ.” These descriptions identify featured material, not a claim that the highlighted songs are the only vocal or story-related tracks.
The CD description says it collects all 57 tracks used in the game. If a digital storefront shows a shorter list, compare the service’s product details with the official announcement before assuming that tracks are missing; storefront metadata can be incomplete during a pre-release listing.

Choose the CD for a physical collection
Select the two-disc edition if you value a packaged Japanese release, want to keep the music outside a digital account, or prefer buying a complete album in one physical item. Confirm delivery territory and the fully delivered cost before placing a preorder.
Choose a standard download for straightforward ownership
The standard album download is the simplest digital purchase when your preferred store carries it and you want the complete album without waiting for a disc shipment. It is also the practical route if your country does not have a reliable physical-import option.

Pick the high-resolution listing only when your service, device, storage, and playback software support its actual file specification. Since the official announcement does not publish those specifications, inspect the live listing before payment.
Choose streaming for convenience
Streaming is best when you already subscribe to one of the named services and mainly want on-demand listening, playlists, or mobile access. It is not a substitute for a purchased copy if you need permanent files or a physical edition.
Preorder and release-day checklist
- Before ordering the CD: verify the Japanese shop’s shipping countries, dispatch estimate, payment methods, returns policy, and final delivered total.
- Before buying a download: confirm the album title, artist, regional availability, file type, and whether the purchase can be redownloaded.
- Before selecting high-resolution: read the technical file details and check available storage and playback support.
- Before relying on streaming: confirm that the service is available in your country and remember that catalog access depends on your subscription.
- On release day: compare the live listing with the announced track information and save your receipt or order confirmation.
Common problems and how to handle them
The CD page will not ship to your address
Do not assume that a Japanese preorder page includes overseas fulfillment. Check the shop’s delivery-country selector and total at checkout. If your country is not supported, use a locally available digital or streaming service, or wait for a separately announced regional retailer.
The price is different from the announcement
The published figures are Japanese tax-included prices. Exchange rates, local tax rules, shipping, import duties, and each platform’s billing system can produce a different total outside Japan. Compare the final checkout amount, not a converted headline price.
The album is missing from a named service
The services are announced outlets, not a guarantee of simultaneous worldwide catalog placement. Check the title spelling, search the service’s Japanese catalog, and try again after release day. If it remains unavailable in your region, select another announced format.
A high-resolution option is not shown
Look at mora, music.jp, Qobuz, and OTOTOY individually, because format labels and territory rights differ. Do not buy a standard listing expecting it to contain high-resolution files unless the product page explicitly says so.
What has not been confirmed
The available official information does not confirm international CD shipping, an English-language edition, marketplace-seller offers, exact high-resolution technical specifications, a bonus booklet, exclusive mastering, or identical availability in every country. Those details should come from the live store or service page if and when they are published.
Bottom line
The announced path is straightforward: preorder the two-disc Japanese CD if you want the physical edition, buy the standard or high-resolution album from a listed download store if you want files, or check the named streaming services on release day for subscription access. Because launch and regional availability are still in the future, verify the live listing, territory, and final cost before completing any purchase.
