Deathspinners are weak to Dead Wire, the electric Ammo Mod. Aim for the orange sacs on their backs—their weak point—and keep moving: these fast enemies can bite up close, lunge from medium range, or fire a web projectile from farther away.
What is the Deathspinner’s elemental weakness?
Use Dead Wire on a weapon you already use. A Deathspinner reference lists Dead Wire as the enemy’s elemental weakness, while Activision explains that Ammo Mods can deal extra damage to enemies weak to the matching element. The sources do not give a damage multiplier or a measured time-to-kill advantage, so there is no supported figure for how much faster Dead Wire defeats one.

Dead Wire is an effect chance, not a guaranteed electric activation on every shot. Activision says Ammo Mods can inflict their effects and then enter a cooldown. Its general description of electric damage also mentions stunning and area-of-effect damage, but does not quantify those effects specifically against Deathspinners. Activision’s Black Ops 7 Zombies overview describes six returning damage types: Frost, Fire, Electric, Toxic, Light, and Shadow. It says undead enemies other than regular zombies have one or more elemental weaknesses.
Where is the Deathspinner’s weak spot?
Target the orange sacs on its back. The enemy reference identifies these sacs as the Deathspinner’s weak point. Because the creatures move quickly, lining up a shot can be difficult; wait for a safe opening rather than standing still while trying to track one.

How to handle Deathspinners in a fight
Deathspinners first appear on Rex Infernus as that map’s special round, and the reference says they can also join ordinary zombie waves in later rounds. They have low health but high speed, and groups can create pressure—especially when web attacks restrict your movement.
- Apply Dead Wire: Put the Ammo Mod on a weapon you are comfortable using. Its effect can trigger and then cool down, so do not rely on every shot activating it.
- Keep moving: The enemy can bite at short range, lunge at medium range, and launch a web projectile from long range. Avoid staying in one place while a group closes in.
- Take the rear-sac shot when safe: Aim at the orange sacs when you have a clear angle. The weak point is useful, but pursuing perfect aim is not worth letting the group surround you.
These are practical suggestions based on the listed weakness, weak point, speed, and attack ranges; they are not claims of a controlled weapon test.

What the sources establish—and what they do not
The Deathspinner reference, updated September 4, 2026, identifies Dead Wire as the elemental weakness, the rear sacs as the weak point, and lists the enemy’s attacks and encounter context. A separate guide published August 21, 2026 corroborates the weakness and group threat. Activision’s September 24, 2025 overview explains the general elemental system and Ammo Mod behavior; it does not publish Deathspinner-specific damage numbers. The available sources establish the recommended element and target, but not a numeric multiplier, health total, or tested time to kill.
