Yes—both the Galaxy A32 4G and Galaxy A32 5G have fingerprint sensors, but they are in different places: the 4G model has an in-display sensor, while the 5G model has a side-mounted sensor. Check which version you have before looking for the sensor or choosing a screen protector.
Where is the fingerprint sensor on each Galaxy A32?
| Model | Fingerprint sensor location | Official specification |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A32 4G | In the display | Samsung India’s March 3, 2021 launch announcement specifies an in-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung Newsroom India |
| Galaxy A32 5G | On the side of the phone | Samsung’s U.K. announcement describes a side fingerprint sensor, and its Canada specification table labels it “Side Fingerprint.” Samsung Newsroom U.K.; Samsung Newsroom Canada |
The names are easy to confuse, but these are distinct versions with different sensor positions. Samsung’s U.S. A32 5G product information also lists a fingerprint sensor among the phone’s sensors: Samsung Newsroom U.S.
How can you tell whether your A32 is 4G or 5G?
Check the phone’s model name in its settings or on its packaging rather than relying on appearance alone. Regional configurations and naming can vary, so the full model number is the most useful detail when checking instructions or accessories. If the phone’s product information identifies it as Galaxy A32 5G, look for the sensor on the side; if it identifies the India Galaxy A32 4G version, the sensor is in the display.
What this means when using or accessorizing the phone
If you have the Galaxy A32 4G
The fingerprint reader is beneath the display, so use the on-screen fingerprint area when registering or unlocking. A screen protector covers the area where the sensor reads your finger; confirm that a protector is compatible with the in-display reader before buying one.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Samsung Galaxy A32 5G
- DOES NOT come with a screen protector
- Soft inner and hard outer layers absorb and deflect impacts, open access to ports and speakers (no port covers)
- Thin profile slips in and out of pockets
- Trusted OtterBox Quality: With OtterBox, you're not just buying a case; you're investing in peace of mind.
If you have the Galaxy A32 5G
The reader is on the side of the phone rather than under the screen. Look along the side edge for the sensor, and make sure a case does not obstruct access to it.
Do the official specifications say how fast or reliable it is?
The cited Samsung product announcements and specification pages establish that a fingerprint sensor is present and identify its location. They do not provide a measured unlock speed, accuracy rate, or comparison of reliability, so those performance qualities cannot be inferred from the placement alone.
