As of October 16, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI can be pre-ordered digitally from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Rockstar Store. Select retailers—including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop—also list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, although stock, prices, bonuses, and delivery estimates depend on country and can change.
Where to preorder GTA 6
Official digital stores
Rockstar identifies three official digital purchase routes:
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
|
Grand Theft Auto VI - PlayStation 5 (Code in Box, Delivers 11/12/26, Playable 11/19/26) | $79.99 | Buy on Amazon |
| 2 |
|
IRIPLEZO Grand Theft Auto V | $24.32 | Buy on Amazon |
| 3 |
|
RIDE 5 - PS5 | $27.96 | Buy on Amazon |
| 4 |
|
Carmen Sandiego 40th Anniversary Edition PS5 | $36.97 | Buy on Amazon |
| 5 |
|
Far Cry 6 PlayStation 5 Gold Steelbook Edition | $69.99 | Buy on Amazon |
- PlayStation Store: the PS5 digital edition.
- Xbox Store: the Xbox Series X|S digital edition.
- Rockstar Store: the publisher’s digital storefront.
Digital preorders are tied to the platform account used to buy them. Before paying, confirm that the store region matches your account country; Rockstar warns that buying from a different country can cause activation or entitlement problems.
Retailer preorders
Retail listings reported on June 25, 2026, included Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. These listings are country-specific. A retailer may show a preorder in one market while having no listing, different pricing, or a different edition elsewhere. Check the live product page for stock status, taxes, shipping terms, pickup options, and the exact platform.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19. Code can only be used by users holding an account for PlayStation registered to the US or Canada.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
What the physical GTA 6 package contains
A retail box is not a conventional game disc. Rockstar states: “The physical version of GTAVI will contain a code that can be redeemed for the digital download of the game to support pre-load.” You will therefore need an internet connection, sufficient console storage, and an account for the matching platform to redeem and download the game.
Buying the code-in-a-box version can still be useful if you want store pickup, a physical package, or a retailer’s payment and return policies. It does not provide the offline installation advantages traditionally associated with a disc.
Rank #2
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
Release date, preload, shipping, and pickup
| Event | Date and timing | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Digital preload | November 12, 2026, at local midnight | Eligible digital preorders can begin downloading before launch. |
| Physical retail fulfillment | Expected from November 12, 2026 | Retailers are expected to begin shipping or offering pickup for the code-in-a-box package. |
| Worldwide launch | November 19, 2026 | The game’s release date for the documented launch platforms. |
A November 12 shipping or pickup date is not a promise of delivery on launch day. Retailer handling, carrier schedules, local holidays, and inventory location can change the arrival time. Digital buyers should leave enough storage space for the download and any launch-day update.

Supported launch platforms
The documented launch platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo, or cloud version is identified in the current launch information, so do not preorder a listing that does not clearly specify PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Standard and Ultimate pricing
GameSpot reported US pricing of $80 for the Standard Edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition. Those figures are a June 2026 US snapshot, not a guaranteed worldwide price or permanent retailer price. Confirm the currency, taxes, edition contents, and any retailer discount on the checkout page. No single cheapest preorder is established: the lowest final cost can vary with regional pricing, sales, memberships, shipping, and edition availability.
Preorder bonuses
PlayStation says: “Players who pre-order any edition on PlayStation Store will also receive a redeemable free month of GTA+.” The offer is associated with PlayStation Store preorders and should be redeemed according to the instructions shown on the account. Rockstar has also described preorder bonuses, but the exact item, eligibility, and presentation can vary by country and edition. Read the current store page before completing the purchase rather than relying on an older listing or an image of a bonus.
Rank #4
- Edition Includes: 40th Caper, "Where in the World?"; Cosmetic skins: Classic & Motorcycle oufit; Digital Official Soundtrack & Artbook; Map; & Stickers - unlockable thru gameplay
- Dive back into the iconic world of Carmen Sandiego, reimagined for a new era

Choosing the best preorder route
| Priority | Most suitable route | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Fastest start and no shipping | PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Rockstar Store digital preorder | Requires a large download and provides no retail box. |
| Store pickup or a packaged product | Local listing from a participating retailer | The box contains a download code, and inventory is market-specific. |
| PlayStation bonus | Any edition preordered on PlayStation Store | The free GTA+ month is tied to that storefront’s offer. |
| Lowest price | Compare the live Standard and Ultimate listings in your country | Prices and promotions change; the reported US figures are not universal. |
How to preorder without region or edition mistakes
- Choose the platform: verify that the listing says PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
- Match the country: buy from a storefront or retailer serving the same country as your platform account.
- Check the edition: compare Standard and Ultimate names, included items, and the final checkout price.
- Confirm the format: retail boxes contain a download code rather than a game disc.
- Review fulfillment: digital purchases preload on November 12 at local midnight; retail orders are expected to ship or become available for pickup from November 12, but arrival is not guaranteed.
- Save the order details: keep the receipt, redemption code instructions, and retailer cancellation or return terms.
What can change before launch
Retail stock, regional pricing, preorder incentives, taxes, and delivery estimates are volatile. A retailer can change an edition’s price or remove a listing without changing the game’s launch date. Recheck the live store page immediately before purchase, especially if you are ordering across borders or selecting a bonus-dependent edition.
