WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out scheduled messages to some Android beta testers, but the feature is not confirmed for every user. The main catch: a scheduled message can contain a photo or a video, but not multiple photos or videos, according to WABetaInfo’s October 12, 2026 report.
Who can schedule a WhatsApp message on Android?
WABetaInfo reports that the feature is available to some testers using WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.40.7, with access rolling out to more testers over the coming weeks. That is a limited beta rollout, not confirmation of general availability in the stable Android app. Meta’s July 2026 feature roundup does not announce the consumer chat scheduler.
If you do not see the scheduling option, you may not have access yet. The report does not give a date for a public release, so updating the app alone cannot guarantee the feature will appear.

How to schedule a message, if the option is available
- Open an individual or group chat and compose your message.
- Press and hold the Send button.
- Select a date and time for the message to be sent.
Those steps reflect the flow described in WABetaInfo’s report. The report does not establish that the same controls are available to all Android users.

What can you schedule—and what is the catch?
The reported scheduler supports text, photos, and videos in both individual and group chats. However, one scheduled message cannot include multiple photos or multiple videos. If you need to send several media items, the reported feature does not currently support bundling them into a single scheduled message.
How this differs from WhatsApp Business scheduling
WhatsApp Business has separate, documented tools for marketing messages and away messages. Those existing business features are not evidence that the newly reported scheduler for personal chats is available to everyone.

| Marketing messages | WhatsApp Business | Documented by the WhatsApp Help Center. The device needs an internet connection at the scheduled time. If it is offline, the app retries after one minute and then every ten minutes, up to ten attempts. |
| Away messages | WhatsApp Business | Documented by the WhatsApp Help Center. Options include always send, a custom schedule, or sending outside business hours; an active internet connection is required. |
Business scheduling has its own setup and delivery conditions; it is not the same feature as scheduling an ordinary personal chat message.
