Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is a Nintendo Switch 2 tactical game built around four heroes whose journeys cross time. Nintendo’s official material confirms the premise, release date, preparation activities and a physical collector’s edition, but it does not establish how well the finished game plays. That means a verdict on its writing, combat, performance or value would require evidence beyond the available official descriptions.
What is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave?
Nintendo describes the game as a tactical adventure in which four heroes travel through time, gather allies and confront the demon god Balor. The story is set in the Dagdan Empire in the year 1454, after Balor’s resurrection. A soul descends from the heavens at Sothis’s behest, and Fortuna—a goddess with the ability to travel through time—offers a chance to help heroes of the past change their fate before a final battle in the future. Nintendo names Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda as the central characters, with a different stated motivation for each:

These are premise-level descriptions from Nintendo, not evidence of how fully each character’s arc develops in the game.

How is the game structured?
The official description presents a preparation-and-battle loop. Players can explore Dagda and its capital, Dagsion; train and learn techniques; recruit allies; build bonds; and venture beyond the city to gain experience and strengthen their forces. Those preparations lead into tactical matches associated with the Heroic Games. Nintendo’s public pages do not specify enough about combat rules, difficulty, balance or pacing to assess those systems in detail. Nintendo UK’s game page outlines the activities.
When did Fortune’s Weave release, and what can you play it on?
Nintendo lists Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave for Nintendo Switch 2, with a release date of September 17, 2026 in its US and UK listings. Nintendo says the game is playable only on Switch 2, so a Nintendo Switch 2 is required. Release schedules can differ by region and may change; check the listing for your market. What is included in the Dagdan Collection?
Nintendo lists a physical Dagdan Collection alongside standard physical and digital editions. The special edition includes a steelbook case, character art cards, a map of Dagda and an artbook. Its current price and retailer availability are not established by Nintendo’s product description, so check local listings before deciding whether its extras justify any price difference.
