What kind of game is Phantom Blade Zero?
Phantom Blade Zero is presented as a dark wuxia action RPG rather than a conventional historical martial-arts game. Its setting combines Wulin martial-arts fiction with fantasy and folk-horror imagery. S-GAME uses the term “kungfupunk” for the mixture of martial arts, stylized technology and dark genre elements in its world.

PlayStation lists Phantom Blade Zero for October 29, 2026. The product page marks it as PS5 Pro Enhanced and lists support for DualSense vibration and adaptive triggers. If you already own a PS5, this is the simplest console route: buy through the PlayStation Store and play on the existing hardware. A PS5 Pro is not stated as a requirement; “PS5 Pro Enhanced” indicates an enhancement for that model, not a separate compatibility tier.
PC through Steam
Steam lists the game for PC and currently displays October 28, 2026. The official material does not explain why Steam shows a date one day earlier than S-GAME and PlayStation. Do not treat the difference as a confirmed time-zone conversion. Check the release time and date shown in your own Steam region before launch.
PC system requirements, recommended specifications, storage requirements and performance targets are not established in the information available here. A PS5 is an optional hardware purchase, not a universal requirement, because PC is also an announced platform. Standard versus Digital Deluxe Edition
The US PlayStation Store lists two digital editions. Steam also lists Standard and Digital Deluxe pre-purchase editions, but the currency and local prices depend on your storefront region. Treat the US figures below as a regional snapshot, not a worldwide recommended retail price.

What the preorder bonuses actually mean
Preordering is described as an early-unlock benefit rather than permanent exclusivity. The listed items are:

PlayStation and Steam state that these items can also be obtained through in-game progression. The listings do not specify the exact progression point, quest, cost or difficulty associated with earning the items after launch. If the timing of an accessory matters to your build, do not assume that “obtainable in-game” means immediately available.

Weapon variety
The August 17 PlayStation Blog gameplay deep dive says players can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges. The PlayStation product page instead says 30 or more primary weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edges; Steam likewise says more than 30 primary weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edges.
Because the official pages use different wording, the safest reading is that the game promises a large weapon roster, while the exact Phantom Edge total depends on which listing you use. The Blog’s figure is specifically “more than 30” main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges; the storefront descriptions use “30+” primary weapons and “20+” Phantom Edges.
Build customization
The gameplay overview describes weapon upgrades, accessories, summons and customizable combat. These systems suggest room for different approaches, but the available descriptions do not provide a complete skill tree, stat list, upgrade-cost schedule or definitive explanation of how summons interact with each weapon. Wait for the final game or a full official manual if you need detailed build planning before purchase.
Side quests and secrets
Side quests can open story paths, according to the PlayStation deep dive. The same material highlights hidden secrets and exploration. That means optional content may affect how you experience the narrative rather than serving only as combat challenges. The official descriptions do not quantify the number of side quests, map size or total completion time.
