If you paid for an X subscription but Premium features, Grok access, or Cursor access is still locked, first verify the X account attached to the purchase and the exact tier you bought. Then compare that tier with the current feature list, check platform and location limits, and separate a missing entitlement from a blue-checkmark review. If the plan includes the benefit and it remains unavailable, contact X subscription support rather than buying a second subscription.
What the X bundle is supposed to include
X now describes its paid offering as “The X Subscription,” a plan spanning X, Grok, and Cursor. The X Premium FAQ says, “Every paid plan includes X Premium benefits on the X account you connect.” That wording makes the connected X account the first thing to verify when a benefit appears to be missing.
The subscription is tiered. Basic, Premium, and Premium+ do not provide identical allowances, and X warns that features can vary by platform and location and may change. A locked feature is therefore not automatically a billing failure: it may be outside your tier, unavailable in your region or app, or still waiting for a separate eligibility review.

Those are X’s starting web prices in the current FAQ accessed in 2026, not guaranteed quotes. Local pricing, taxes, platform billing and location can change the amount shown at checkout. Check the web experience or the iOS and Android apps for the price that applies to your account.

1. Confirm the X account that made the purchase
Sign out of extra X sessions or open a private browser window, then sign in with the account that completed the subscription. Look in the account’s subscription or plan settings and record the displayed tier and status. A purchase made while signed in to one X account will not necessarily appear on another account used on the same phone or computer.
- Check the username and email shown in the account settings, not just the profile name or avatar.
- Verify that the subscription status says active rather than canceled, expired, pending or awaiting payment.
- If you use several accounts, repeat the check on each one before assuming the bundle failed.
- Keep the receipt or order confirmation for the account that shows the charge; it gives support a way to trace the transaction.
X’s documentation specifically ties Premium benefits to the connected X account. It does not describe a separate identity-linking mechanism that can be safely assumed for Cursor, so do not infer that signing into Cursor with a particular email automatically moves an X entitlement there.
2. Match the missing feature to the exact tier
Open the current plan details and feature list while signed in to the account that paid. Write down the feature you expected, the tier displayed, and where you are trying to use it. This prevents a broad “Grok is locked” report from hiding a plan-limit difference.

X says Premium includes increased usage limits on Grok, while Premium+ adds SuperGrok access and higher limits on the latest Grok models. A Basic subscription should not be judged against Premium+ allowances. Even on a qualifying tier, X’s availability warnings apply, so a model or feature may not be offered in every location or on every platform.

When the issue is an X Premium feature
Compare the named benefit with the plan’s current list rather than relying on an old article, screenshot or promotion. Existing X Premium subscribers retain their plan, price and features until they choose to switch, but the feature catalog itself can change. If the account page shows a plan that should include the benefit and the feature is absent, treat that as a possible entitlement mismatch and continue to support escalation.
When the issue is Cursor
The FAQ presents The X Subscription as covering X, Grok and Cursor, but the official material available for this topic does not document the exact Cursor activation, account-linking or sign-in steps. Do not create a second purchase solely because a Cursor screen does not recognize the bundle. First capture the X account, tier, purchase status, Cursor account identifier and the message shown by Cursor; then ask subscription support which account connection is required.
3. Check platform and location before treating it as a failed activation
X cautions that not all features are available on every platform or in every location. Test the same account on the supported web experience and, if relevant, the current iOS or Android app, but interpret a difference as an availability clue rather than proof that one platform permanently removed your entitlement.
- Record whether the lock appears on x.com, in the mobile app, or in both.
- Check the country or region associated with your account and app store; local rules and rollout timing can affect availability.
- Install pending app updates and use the current browser version before comparing results.
- Read the feature notice carefully. “Not available in your location” is a different problem from “upgrade required” or “subscription not found.”
Do not use a different region, payment profile or account to bypass a restriction. That can create a second account mismatch and makes it harder for support to identify the original transaction.

4. Refresh the session as a practical check
The official pages do not publish a Grok or Cursor activation checklist. Nevertheless, a stale session is a low-risk practical check before escalation. It cannot change the tier you purchased, but it can reveal whether the service is displaying an old login state.
- Close the relevant X, Grok or Cursor tab or app.
- Sign out of the service where the lock appears.
- Sign back in to the account you verified in step 1.
- Reload the feature page and note the exact result, including any error code or upgrade prompt.
- Repeat once on a current browser or the latest app version, without switching to a different account.
Describe this as a session refresh, not as an X-documented entitlement repair. If the plan and feature still do not match after the check, move to support rather than repeatedly reinstalling apps or purchasing another tier.
5. Treat a missing blue checkmark as a separate review issue
A blue checkmark is not the same entitlement as Premium, Grok usage or Cursor access. X says checkmark eligibility is reviewed, requires a confirmed phone number and may be reviewed again after you change your profile photo, display name or username. The review can take several business days.
If the only missing item is the checkmark, confirm the phone number and allow the stated review period. Avoid making additional profile changes while waiting, because another change can trigger a new review. A paid plan can be active even while the checkmark is pending or absent after review. Use the subscription-mismatch path only when other plan benefits that your tier should include are also missing.

6. Use browser troubleshooting only for web-access errors
For a page that will not load, loops at sign-in or shows a generic x.com error, X recommends standard browser diagnostics. These steps may identify an access problem, but X does not promise that they restore a missing subscription entitlement.
- Check the network connection and try another reliable connection.
- Open a private or incognito window and sign in again.
- Update the browser to a current release.
- Clear the site’s cache and cookies, then restart the browser.
- Temporarily disable extensions that alter scripts, privacy controls or page content.
- Review third-party account connections in X settings and remove anything you no longer recognize.
After each change, test the same account and the same feature. If the page loads normally but still says that your plan does not include an entitlement, browser cleanup has done its job and further diagnosis belongs with subscription support.

- the X username and the email or phone number on the account;
- the tier displayed in account settings;
- the purchase date, billing platform and receipt or order identifier;
- the exact feature that is locked and the service where it appears;
- your country or region and whether the problem occurs on web, iOS, Android or all tested platforms;
- the wording of the error or upgrade prompt, with screenshots that do not expose payment details.
Ask support to verify the entitlement on the charged account and to explain any required account connection for Cursor or Grok. Do not disclose a full card number, password, authentication code or recovery phrase.
Refunds, cancellations and app-store purchases
X states that subscriptions are generally non-refundable except where required by law or in specified upgrade circumstances. If you bought the subscription through Apple or Google, X says those stores should handle app-related refund and cancellation matters. Contact the store that processed the charge, using the same order information supplied in its receipt. A refund request does not itself fix an entitlement mismatch, so tell X Support if you want the paid benefit restored rather than canceled.
A quick decision path
- Wrong account: sign into the X account shown on the receipt and check its plan status.
- Wrong expectation: compare the requested feature with Basic, Premium or Premium+ benefits.
- Availability limit: check platform, country and the wording of the feature notice.
- Stale session: sign out, update and sign back in once as a practical diagnostic.
- Checkmark review: confirm the phone number and allow several business days if only the blue checkmark is missing.
- Entitlement mismatch: send the complete account, purchase and error details to @Subscriptions.
This sequence keeps a billing entitlement problem separate from a feature rollout, browser failure or eligibility review. It also avoids paying twice while the original account is being investigated.
