If a Genesis Configuration will not complete in Hellraiser: Revival, first identify the lock’s location, then reshape and rotate both halves until their combined outline matches the opening. There is no single code that works everywhere: the campaign has five mandatory Genesis Configuration locks, and some require a returned statue piece or an environmental action before the mechanism responds.
Start with the lock’s location
The Genesis Configuration is a visual shape-and-rotation puzzle, not a universal combination lock. Each half of the box can be changed independently. The objective is to make the two halves form the complete silhouette of the slot or cut-out in front of you.
The campaign guide from GamesRadar+ identifies five mandatory locks:

These are separate story gates. An orientation that opens Sunny’s pillar will not automatically open a statue or the factory shrine.

How to solve a Genesis Configuration
- Stand directly in front of the lock. Make sure you are interacting with the Configuration attached to the gate or mechanism you are trying to operate.
- Inspect the target silhouette. Treat the opening as one complete outline, including corners, straight edges, and any internal steps.
- Configure the first half. Cycle through its available shapes, then rotate it until its portion of the outline matches one side of the opening.
- Configure the second half. Repeat the process for the other half. The two pieces must be judged together; a shape that looks correct by itself can still leave a notch or protrusion when combined.
- Check the entire perimeter. Look at all four sides rather than only the top edge. The completion cue should occur when the combined outline fills the cut-out without gaps or overlaps.
- Wait for the mechanism. Some locks trigger a gate or device immediately; others use the box to operate an environmental mechanism. If nothing changes, do not assume the last orientation was correct—recheck the silhouette and the local objective.
There is no evidence of a keypad, random seed, or one code shared by all five locks. The reliable method is visual comparison at the specific location.
Location-specific solutions and prerequisites
Sunny’s pillar
The campaign guide describes a square rotated into a diamond-like position on one side and a parallel-bridge arrangement on the other. Use those descriptions as a starting point, then compare the combined outline with the pillar’s opening. Rotation matters: a square on a flat edge is not equivalent to the same square turned 45 degrees.
If the box appears to accept input but the pillar does not react, move back to the objective marker and verify that you are using Sunny’s pillar rather than another Configuration. The five locks have different target silhouettes, so carrying over the solution from a previous location will fail even when the individual pieces look familiar.

Hand statue
The Hand statue is a prerequisite-sensitive gate. Return the missing hand before spending time cycling the Configuration. The unofficial Hellraiser: Revival puzzle reference specifically warns that the statue piece must be restored for the sequence to proceed.

Once the hand is in place, match the boulder-like shapes in their required orientations. Because the two sides use similar-looking forms, check their rotation as well as their outline. If the hand has not been returned, a correct-looking arrangement may still produce no completion event.
Head statue
The Head statue solution includes a border-like configuration on one side, according to the campaign guide. The published guide uses images to show the full alignment; the text description alone does not specify every turn of both halves. Use the in-game silhouette as the final authority and verify the complete border around the opening.
Do not substitute the Hand statue arrangement here. These are separate locks with separate target shapes, even though both are statue encounters.

Return the missing tongue before attempting to finish this lock. The pre-release puzzle reference identifies the tongue as a required statue component. After it is restored, solve the Configuration by cycling each half and comparing the combined outline to the Tongue statue’s slot.

The available text summary does not provide a complete turn-by-turn orientation for this lock. That is not evidence that the puzzle is random or broken; it means the visual target at the location must guide the final arrangement.
Factory shrine
The Factory shrine is the fifth mandatory campaign lock. The guide reports a border-like arrangement on one side. Align both halves with the shrine’s opening and inspect the corners before concluding that the interaction failed.
Because the shrine is a separate story gate, solutions from either statue or Sunny’s pillar should not be expected to work. If the shrine has not become interactive, confirm that the preceding story objective is complete and that you are using the shrine’s own Configuration.

When the box controls the environment
Not every Genesis-related sequence is solved by leaving the box in front of a fixed gate. The unofficial Hellraiser: Revival puzzle reference describes environmental interactions in pre-release demonstrations.

Wheel-controlled walkway
At a wheel-controlled walkway, use the Configuration to rotate the wheel and realign the path. The goal is not merely to match a static door silhouette: the box is the control that changes the walkway’s alignment. If the route still appears blocked, check that the wheel has completed its movement and that the path is aligned before trying to walk across.
Repeating-room sequence
In the repeating-room sequence, the reference recommends turning around rather than continuing forward. A loop can make the player think the Configuration has failed when the required action is to reverse direction and change the state of the room. Turn back, observe whether the environment changes, and then reassess the available route.
These two situations come from pre-release demonstrations, so they should be treated as location-specific guidance rather than a universal explanation for every full-game puzzle.
Pre-checks before treating the puzzle as broken
- Confirm the location. Identify whether you are at Sunny’s pillar, the Hand statue, Head statue, Tongue statue, or Factory shrine.
- Verify the story objective. A Configuration can be present before the game has made its gate ready.
- Return required statue pieces. The Hand statue needs the hand, and the Tongue statue needs the tongue.
- Match both halves together. Setting only one side correctly is not enough.
- Rotate every candidate shape. Orientation is part of the solution; similar outlines can behave differently when turned.
- Check for an environmental objective. The wheel walkway and repeating-room sequence require movement or reversal, not just a static shape match.
- Recheck the silhouette from a clear angle. Stand squarely in front of the opening so perspective does not hide a gap or overhang.
If the Genesis Configuration still will not complete
Separate a wrong solution from a non-registering input
A wrong solution normally leaves a visible mismatch in the outline. A possible registration problem is different: the halves appear to fit, but the game provides no completion cue or environmental response. Before labeling it a bug, cycle both halves again and verify every edge, then confirm the required hand or tongue and the current story objective.

Understand what the available patch information proves
The unofficial puzzle reference says its tips cover pre-release demonstrations. It also reports demo patches that corrected inaccurate tutorial hints and some movement softlocks. Those notes do not establish that a patch fixed Genesis Configuration failures in the released full campaign.
A player discussion includes an anecdotal report of a bridge interaction that would not register. An isolated report cannot establish the cause, frequency, or current status of a Genesis Configuration bug. There is no verified full-game patch note or official troubleshooting instruction in the available material that confirms a universal fix.
Use cautious recovery steps
- Leave the interaction point and return after confirming the objective and any missing statue piece.
- Re-enter the puzzle and test the silhouette methodically, changing one half at a time.
- For a wheel sequence, operate the wheel again and wait for the walkway to settle; for a looping-room sequence, turn around as described above.
- If the correct-looking arrangement still produces no response, record the location, objective state, and exact behavior before seeking a current support response or checking a later official patch note.
Reinstalling the game, deleting a save, changing hardware, or restarting from an earlier checkpoint is not a verified Genesis Configuration fix based on the available evidence. Those actions may carry progress costs, so do not present them as guaranteed remedies.

Do you need a physical puzzle-box replica?
No. A collector’s-edition Genesis Configuration replica has been referenced as a memorabilia item, but it is not required to solve any in-game lock. Availability of a standalone retail replica is not established here, and a physical box cannot substitute for the location-specific silhouettes and story prerequisites in the game.
