Start with the PS5’s complete error code, then check PlayStation Network status. A failed connection after a jailbreak can still be an ordinary outage, Wi-Fi problem, router configuration issue, or an account/console access restriction. The failure alone does not prove that the jailbreak caused it.
Use the official troubleshooting path for the exact code. Network checks are appropriate for connection errors; a message about suspension or prohibited access requires PlayStation Support, not DNS changes or an unofficial bypass.
1. Identify exactly what the PS5 is reporting
Record the full error code
On the PS5, write down the complete code and the wording displayed with it. Do not rely on a shortened note such as “PSN error.” PlayStation’s PS5 error-code directory separates connection failures from codes whose descriptions refer to access being suspended, temporarily suspended, potentially prohibited, or temporarily unavailable.
The category matters more than the fact that the console is offline. A connection message points toward service status, the local network, or the console’s network configuration. An access-status message is not evidence of a faulty router and should be handled as an account or console-status question.

Check PlayStation Network status before changing settings
Open the Network Service Status link from PlayStation Support and look for an outage or maintenance notice affecting sign-in, account management, gaming, or other relevant services. If a service incident is shown, wait for the service to recover before changing router settings or reinstalling anything. A local troubleshooting procedure cannot repair a platform-wide outage.
2. Use the error category to choose the right path

PlayStation publishes individual guidance pages, including CE-109503-8 and WS-114241-3. Open the page that matches the code on your screen and use its prescribed sequence. Do not apply every possible fix at once, because changing several variables makes it harder to tell whether the original problem was service-related, local, or an access restriction.
3. If the code indicates a connection problem
Step 1: Restart the PS5
- Save and close any open game or application.
- Press the PS button, choose the power menu, and select Turn Off PS5. Do not choose Rest Mode for this diagnostic.
- Wait until the console’s indicators are off, wait a few seconds, and turn it on again.
- Run the PS5 connection test and note whether the same code returns.
Restarting is useful for a temporary session or network-stack fault. It does not remove an account or console restriction; an access-status code should be escalated even if a restart changes the wording.

- Turn off or unplug the modem and router according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
- Wait until the equipment has fully shut down, then power the modem back on and allow it to reconnect to the internet.
- Power the router back on and wait for its normal online indicators.
- Restart the PS5 and run the connection test again.
If other devices also lost internet access, the fault is more likely to be the home connection or provider than the PS5. If every other device works but the PS5 fails with an access-status message, stop treating the issue as a Wi-Fi fault.

Step 3: Test with wired LAN
Connect the PS5’s LAN port directly to an available router port with a standard Ethernet cable. On the console, open Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection, select Set Up Wired LAN, and follow the prompts. Run the connection test after the cable link is established.
This is a diagnostic comparison: if wired works while Wi-Fi fails, investigate wireless signal, SSID, password, security mode, or router placement. If wired fails with the same access or suspension code, Ethernet has not removed the restriction. A compatible Ethernet cable can help perform this comparison, but it cannot restore a suspended account or console.
Step 4: Verify Wi-Fi details
For a wireless connection, confirm the exact network name (SSID), password, and security method. Re-enter the password rather than relying on a saved value if the router was recently replaced or its settings changed. In Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection, select the intended wireless network and complete the on-screen setup.
Keep the PS5 within reasonable range of the access point during testing. If the console connects to a phone hotspot but not the home network, that comparison implicates the home router or its configuration; it does not prove anything about the jailbreak.

Step 5: Review network settings only as the code directs
PlayStation’s connection guidance may call for reviewing or resetting network settings, trying a different connection method, or updating router firmware. Make one change at a time and rerun the test after each change. Record the previous setting before editing it so that you can restore a known-good configuration.
Do not choose arbitrary DNS servers or copy “bypass” settings from an unofficial guide as a first response. DNS changes cannot change an account or console suspension, and an unofficial configuration can create a second problem while obscuring the original error.
Step 6: Check IPv4 and IPv6 compatibility
According to PlayStation’s internet-connection setup guidance, PS5 supports IPv6, but it does not support an IPv6-only network connection. If the router is configured for IPv6-only operation, change it to provide IPv4 as well, or ask the router manufacturer, internet provider, or network administrator for the correct setting.

Step 7: Consider router firmware
Some PlayStation error instructions include checking for a router-firmware update. Use the router maker’s documented update process and avoid interrupting power during an update. Firmware work is appropriate only when the specific error guidance or the router manufacturer identifies it as relevant; it is not a jailbreak-recovery procedure.

Do not diagnose this as Wi-Fi
A message stating that access to PlayStation has been suspended, temporarily suspended, potentially prohibited, or otherwise restricted belongs to a different branch from “cannot connect.” Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet may confirm that the local network is healthy, but it does not change the status attached to an account or console.
Contact PlayStation Support with useful details
Use the support route associated with your region and provide:
- The complete error code and the exact on-screen wording.
- The date and approximate time the failure began.
- Whether the problem occurs on both Wi-Fi and wired LAN.
- Whether PlayStation’s status page reports an outage.
- Whether another account or another device can use the same home connection, if you have a legitimate way to check.
Ask Support what status the code represents and what official remedy, if any, is available. The error-code page and Support team can distinguish a temporary service problem from an account action or console-level restriction. Do not submit repeated tests that could lock you out further, and do not conceal the code or substitute a different description.

5. How the jailbreak fits into the diagnosis
The available official PlayStation pages do not state that a jailbreak necessarily causes a particular PSN failure. They also do not provide a sanctioned, jailbreak-specific method for reversing a modification or restoring PSN access after one. Therefore, treat timing as a clue, not proof.
If the first failure occurred immediately after a modification, document what changed and preserve the original error wording. Do not assume that reinstalling system software, changing DNS, factory-resetting the console, or installing an unofficial “PSN fix” will restore service. None of those actions is presented by the cited PlayStation guidance as a guaranteed way to remove an access restriction, and an irreversible change can make later diagnosis more difficult.
Use only official software and instructions when PlayStation Support specifically directs a repair or system procedure. If Support says the issue is a network error, follow that code’s network steps. If Support identifies a suspension or prohibited-access status, ask for the status and appeal or recovery route that applies in your region; do not attempt to evade it.
6. A practical decision flow
- Capture the code. Photograph or transcribe the full code and message.
- Check service status. If PlayStation reports an outage or maintenance, wait and retry later.
- Classify the message. Choose service, connection, or account/console-access category.
- For a connection category, restart the PS5, restart the modem and router, and retest.
- Compare connections. Test wired LAN, then verify Wi-Fi SSID, password, and security settings if wireless is the failing path.
- Check protocol support. Confirm that the router is not IPv6-only; obtain IPv4 support if necessary.
- For an access category, stop changing network settings and contact PlayStation Support with the exact code.
- Do not use evasion steps. Avoid unofficial bypasses, arbitrary DNS recipes, or claims that a jailbreak-specific recovery is official.
7. When to stop troubleshooting yourself
Escalate promptly when the same code appears on both wired and wireless tests, when the code explicitly mentions suspension or prohibited access, or when the official error page’s steps do not change the result. Tell Support which steps you completed and what each test showed. That information is more useful than repeatedly resetting the router.
PlayStation’s error directory also points users toward PlayStation Repairs for additional troubleshooting where appropriate. Use the official repair and support pathways for your country rather than an unverified service claiming to restore PSN access.
8. What a successful result looks like
For a genuine local network fault, the PS5 should complete its internet and PlayStation Network tests after the affected service recovers or the network configuration is corrected. A wired-versus-wireless difference should remain consistent and help identify the home-network component that needs attention.
For an account or console restriction, success cannot be inferred from a faster connection or a new DNS address. The meaningful next step is an official status determination from PlayStation Support and compliance with the remedy it provides. Until then, describe the condition accurately as “PS5 cannot connect with this error code,” not as proof that the jailbreak caused a ban.
