First check the exact quest title and objective in your quest log. “Nomad Recording” has not been verified as an ARC Raiders quest or item name. If your log says A Dead End, community walkthroughs place its recording interaction in a locked MANTIKOR room beneath The Blue Gate. You must play the recording beside the monitors, collect the separate Dusty Film Reel, and extract with it. If your quest text is different, those directions may not apply, and there is no verified fix for a missing or non-registering “Nomad Recording.”
What “Nomad Recording” means in the available quest references
The phrase “Nomad Recording” does not appear as a confirmed quest or item name in the quest references located for ARC Raiders. That matters because a search for an exact phrase can point you to the wrong mission, location, or interaction. The closest documented match is the recording objective in A Dead End, a quest associated with Shani.
The ARC Raiders Wiki lists two relevant objectives for A Dead End: play a recording next to monitors and find a Dusty Film Reel. A DamnModz walkthrough and a GamerHour guide describe the same mission at MANTIKOR’s underground facilities on The Blue Gate. Neither guide confirms that its recording is officially called “Nomad Recording,” so treat the match as conditional rather than as a guaranteed identification of your problem.

Identify the problem before entering another raid
Open the in-game quest log and copy the wording exactly. Do not rely on a remembered nickname, a video title, or a shortened objective. The title and objective text determine whether the documented A Dead End route is relevant.

| What you see in the quest log | What the available evidence supports | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| A Dead End, with a recording objective and a Dusty Film Reel objective | The documented recording interaction in the MANTIKOR underground facility on The Blue Gate is a plausible match. | Follow the conditional walkthrough below and extract with the reel. |
| A different quest title, or an objective that names “Nomad Recording” directly | No located guide verifies that mission or location as the same activity. | Do not assume the A Dead End route applies. Record the exact title and wording for a support report. |
| The recording is visible but the objective does not complete | No verified repair procedure was found for a failed registration. | Separate a registration failure from a missing interaction and document what happens. |
| No recording interaction appears at all | No verified fix was found for an absent interaction described as “Nomad Recording.” | Confirm the quest is active, then collect the details listed in the troubleshooting section. |
Conditional walkthrough: if your quest is A Dead End
The following route combines the objectives described by the ARC Raiders Wiki, A DamnModz, and GamerHour. These are community and third-party references, not an official confirmation that they resolve a “Nomad Recording” issue.
1. Confirm the mission is active
Before deploying, make sure A Dead End is the active quest in your log and that its objective list includes the recording and the Dusty Film Reel. If either objective is absent, stop using this route; you may be working on another mission with a similar clue.
2. Travel to The Blue Gate
The guides place the mission at MANTIKOR’s underground facilities on The Blue Gate. Use the map and in-game objective markers to reach that area. The references do not establish a universal landmark, coordinate, or alternate entrance, so do not treat a video’s exact path as an official map instruction.

3. Find the locked room
The walkthroughs describe a locked room that is opened with batteries. Bring the batteries required by the room’s interaction and use them at the indicated power point. If the room does not present the battery interaction, check that A Dead End is active and that you are in the MANTIKOR underground facility rather than another Blue Gate location.
4. Play the recording beside the monitors
Inside the opened room, look for the monitor bank described in the guides. The recording interaction is next to those monitors. Position your character close to the interaction prompt and activate it once. Watch the objective text rather than assuming that hearing audio alone completed the task.
5. Collect the Dusty Film Reel separately
The Dusty Film Reel is a separate objective, not the same object as the recording interaction. Search the room and the locations indicated by the active objective until the reel can be picked up. Completing the recording step does not replace the requirement to obtain the reel.

6. Extract with the reel
The walkthroughs state that you need to extract while carrying the Dusty Film Reel for the quest to finish. Check the objective list before leaving the facility. If the recording is marked complete but the reel or extraction objective remains, the quest is not finished yet.

These two symptoms require different evidence. A missing interaction means there is no prompt where the object or recording should be. A registration failure means you used the prompt, but the quest log did not update. Write down which one occurred; “it is missing” can otherwise obscure the useful diagnostic detail.
Missing interaction
- There is no usable prompt beside the monitors or the expected recording location.
- The room may not be the battery-opened MANTIKOR room described for A Dead End.
- The wrong quest may be active, even if the map region is The Blue Gate.
- The phrase in your log may not refer to the recording described by these guides.
Failed registration
- The interaction prompt appears and can be activated.
- The recording plays or the interaction animation completes.
- The objective remains unchanged, or the recording step returns after another screen or transition.
No source located for this issue establishes a restart, quest abandonment, reinstallation, or other specific action as a reliable fix. Avoid presenting any of those actions as proven solutions.

Checks that are safe to make without assuming a fix
These checks help establish what happened; they are not documented cures for a bug.
- Read the objective verbatim. Note capitalization, punctuation, and whether it says to play, find, collect, or extract.
- Verify the active quest. A similar-sounding mission can send you to a different interaction.
- Check the room sequence. For the conditional A Dead End route, the guides describe opening the battery-locked room before using the recording near the monitors.
- Watch the quest log after interacting. Record whether the objective changes immediately, after leaving the room, or only after extraction.
- Check the reel objective independently. The Dusty Film Reel is separate, so an incomplete reel step does not prove that the recording failed.
- Capture the context. Record your platform, game version, whether the quest is active, the map, and the exact symptom.
Information to include when asking for help
Because no official statement or verified repair procedure was located for “Nomad Recording,” a useful report needs more than the phrase itself. Include:
- The exact quest title as displayed in the quest log.
- The full objective sentence and which step you selected as active.
- Your platform and the game version shown by the client.
- Whether the interaction is absent, visible but unusable, or usable without updating the objective.
- Whether the battery-locked room opened, whether the recording played, and whether the Dusty Film Reel was collected.
- The map and facility where the attempt occurred.
- Whether you extracted, and what the quest log showed afterward.
- A screenshot or short video of the objective text and the interaction area, if the support channel accepts attachments.
This information lets other players or the game’s support team determine whether they are looking at the documented A Dead End interaction or a different quest entirely.

What the available evidence does not establish
- It does not establish “Nomad Recording” as an official ARC Raiders quest, item, or objective name.
- It does not confirm that every Blue Gate recording belongs to A Dead End.
- It does not provide a patch-specific fix, a guaranteed respawn behavior, or a workaround for an objective that fails to register.
- It does not show that restarting a raid, abandoning the quest, reinstalling the game, or changing platforms resolves the problem.
- It does not provide a statistic about how often this issue occurs.
A Reddit discussion mentions a Blue Gate quest recording, but it neither identifies the interaction as “Nomad Recording” nor supplies a resolution for a missing objective. Treat posts and videos as leads for locating an interaction, not as proof of an official quest name or bug fix.
Decision guide
| Your situation | Most defensible next action |
|---|---|
| Your log clearly says A Dead End | Use the conditional MANTIKOR walkthrough: battery-locked room, recording beside monitors, separate Dusty Film Reel, then extraction. |
| Your log uses “Nomad Recording” or another title | Do not substitute the A Dead End route. Preserve the exact wording and seek clarification with the details above. |
| You can play the recording but the counter does not move | Report a registration failure with platform, version, quest text, and the post-interaction objective state. No verified repair is available. |
| You cannot find any prompt | Verify the active quest and the battery-opened room requirement if—and only if—the quest is A Dead End. |
| The recording step completes but the quest remains unfinished | Check the separate Dusty Film Reel objective and extract with the reel as described by the guides. |
Bottom line
Do not assume that “Nomad Recording” is the official name of an ARC Raiders objective. First compare the wording in your quest log. If it is A Dead End, the strongest available lead is the recording beside the monitors in the battery-opened MANTIKOR underground room on The Blue Gate, followed by collecting the separate Dusty Film Reel and extracting with it. If the title differs, or the interaction still does not register, the issue remains unverified; document the exact conditions instead of relying on an unsupported restart or reinstall procedure.
