Close the page and do not click its pop-ups, download or run files, enter account or payment details, or connect a cryptocurrency wallet. A site that fails to load is not proof that your device is infected; what matters most is what the page asked you to do and whether you interacted with it.
What to do first
- Stop interacting with the page. Don’t click “Play Now,” download, verification, notification, login, or wallet prompts. Don’t revisit the site to test it.
- Close the tab or browser. If the page prevents a normal close, close the browser. Don’t download or run a supposed demo, leaked build, or unofficial installer.
- Use official sources for game information. Check Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and recognized platform stores, rather than trusting search placement, copied artwork, or convincing game details.
Rockstar Games Customer Support advises: “Don’t download software from third-party sources, including cracked games.” Rockstar’s account-security guidance also warns against sharing credentials and verification codes.
Why a GTA 6 leak site can be dangerous
A page can look authentic and still be a scam. Malwarebytes reported fake GTA 6-themed pages that reused promotion material and accurate-looking game details while offering malicious downloads. An analyzed installer targeted saved browser passwords, cookies, and authenticated sessions. Malwarebytes’ report on fake demo sites describes the case.
A separate fake page paired game facts and a countdown with cryptocurrency wallet-draining functionality. The reported risk involved transaction approval or permission; connecting a wallet alone was not the same as approving a transaction. Malwarebytes’ wallet-scam report explains the distinction.

What to do based on what happened
You only opened the page or saw pop-ups
Close it without clicking anything, including notification prompts, “verify” steps, downloads, login boxes, or wallet requests. A pop-up or loading failure by itself does not establish that malware was installed.
You entered a Rockstar password or other credentials
- Using a device you believe is clean, change the exposed password. Change it anywhere else you reused it.
- Review your Rockstar account for email changes, unfamiliar device logins, third-party connections, and other unexpected activity.
- Sign out unfamiliar or active sessions where account controls allow, enable two-step verification, and report suspicious activity to Rockstar Support.
Do not share your password or verification codes. If the same credentials were used for email or payment accounts, secure those accounts as well.

You downloaded and ran a file
Treat saved browser credentials and active sessions on that device as potentially exposed. Malwarebytes recommends scanning the affected computer with a trusted security product, then using a clean device to change important passwords, sign out active sessions, check account settings and forwarding rules, enable two-factor authentication, and monitor accounts for unusual activity. A password change alone may not invalidate every existing session.
You connected a cryptocurrency wallet
Disconnect the site and review the wallet permissions and transaction history. If you approved a transaction or ongoing permission, revoke the permission and check assets across the wallet’s networks. If you entered your recovery phrase on the page, Malwarebytes recommends moving remaining assets to a newly created wallet. Merely connecting a wallet is not the same as approving a transaction.

How to verify GTA VI information safely
As displayed on October 9, 2026, Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists a November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and provides official video and artwork. Use that page and recognized platform stores to check announcements and offers. Copied branding, accurate dates, or polished artwork do not authenticate a third-party leak site.
