After defeating The Fallen, collect all three rewards, then return through the sewers using the Arcane Whip on golden Anchors. The whip opens routes that were unreachable before the fight and leads to an optional Cestus pickup in the Sewer Reservoir. When you finish exploring, return to the sealed three-key door.
That door is the demo’s endpoint. The first key comes from The Fallen, but two more guardians and the Parisian Catacombs are part of the full game, not the demo. There is no hidden post-boss chapter to unlock in the demo.
Collect every reward from The Fallen
The Fallen is both a boss encounter and a progression checkpoint. Once the fight ends, make sure you have received all three rewards before leaving the arena:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Holy Cross Arcana: Rose’s new projectile option, useful when keeping distance is safer than standing in melee range.
- Arcane Whip: a traversal and combat tool that latches onto golden Anchors and can also support enemy grapples.
- First arena key: one of the three keys required for the sealed door at the end of the demo area.
The whip is the important item for navigation. If you leave the boss room without confirming that it is available in your equipment or ability set, revisit the reward area rather than assuming a later room will provide it.

Backtrack through the sewers with the Arcane Whip
Do not continue searching for a new forward route immediately after the boss. The intended next step is to retrace the sewer route and look for golden Anchors that were visible but unusable earlier. These Anchors mark ledges, grates and gaps that the whip can now connect.
How to search efficiently
- Leave The Fallen’s arena and return to the sewer rooms you previously passed through.
- Look above the normal walking route for golden Anchor points, high grates and platforms separated by gaps.
- Use the Arcane Whip on each reachable Anchor, then follow the newly opened ledge or passage.
- Recheck side rooms and dead ends. A location that was a dead end before the boss may now contain a pickup, shortcut or access to a higher platform.
The game does not require you to defeat another guardian before this backtracking. The purpose of the return trip is to collect items and open routes made possible by the whip.
Find the optional Cestus in the Sewer Reservoir
The main optional objective after The Fallen is the Cestus, a fast close-range weapon hidden in the Sewer Reservoir. The pickup is not mandatory for reaching the demo’s final door, and it is possible that you already collected it before the boss. If it is already in your inventory, there is nothing else to obtain in the reservoir.
Reservoir route
- Backtrack to the Sewer Reservoir.
- Inspect the upper portions of the room rather than staying on the floor-level path.
- Use the Arcane Whip to reach the high grate and the hidden Anchor.
- Follow the newly accessible route into the secret room.
- Collect the Cestus and return to the main sewer route.
The Cestus changes your close-range options, so it is worth taking if you want more combat variety or intend to explore every available demo pickup. If your goal is simply to see the demo’s endpoint, you can skip the detour and go directly to the sealed door.

Use the Holy Cross when distance is safer
The Holy Cross becomes Rose’s ranged projectile after the fight. It is taken from The Fallen’s signature attack, but the available material does not establish verified damage values, cooldowns or frame timings. Treat it as a spacing tool rather than assuming it replaces your melee weapon.
When to choose the projectile
- Use it when an enemy occupies a narrow approach and closing the distance would expose Rose to a hit.
- Use movement and positioning first; the Arcana is most useful when it lets you attack without standing directly beside a target.
- Keep your melee option equipped for situations where close range is faster or safer.
The Holy Cross is a combat reward, while the Arcane Whip is the item that changes the map. If you are trying to solve a traversal problem, switch your attention to golden Anchors instead of repeatedly attacking the obstacle.
Return to the sealed three-key door
After collecting the Cestus and checking the newly reachable sewer ledges, return to the arena door that requires three keys. The key from The Fallen is only the first of three. Two other guardians hold the remaining keys, so the door cannot be opened in the demo.
Recommended Free Tools
| Item or requirement | Obtained after The Fallen? | What it does in the demo |
|---|---|---|
| Holy Cross Arcana | Yes | Gives Rose a ranged projectile option. |
| Arcane Whip | Yes | Connects to golden Anchors and opens traversal routes. |
| First arena key | Yes | Counts toward the three-key door. |
| Cestus | Optional reservoir pickup | Adds a fast close-range weapon; it is not required for the door. |
| Two additional keys | No | Held by guardians outside the demo’s playable content. |
Trying to interact with the door before finding two more keys will not produce a secret ending or alternate route. Once you have finished the sewer cleanup, the correct conclusion is to stop at the gate or continue in the full release.

Where the demo ends
The demo is the opening chapter and ends at the sealed gate leading into the Parisian Catacombs, immediately after the The Fallen sequence and the available sewer exploration. It does not end with a credits sequence or a story-ending cutscene.
You can still spend time after the boss by collecting remaining sewer items, opening shortcuts and completing the Cestus detour. Those activities are post-boss exploration within the opening chapter, not additional story chapters. The Parisian Catacombs and the two remaining guardians are outside the demo build.
What you can complete before stopping
- Claim the Holy Cross, Arcane Whip and first key.
- Revisit golden Anchors and previously unreachable sewer ledges.
- Open any newly accessible shortcuts.
- Collect the Cestus in the Sewer Reservoir if you did not already find it.
- Return to the three-key gate and confirm that the remaining keys are unavailable in the demo.
How the full game continues
In the full game, the sealed gate leads toward the Parisian Catacombs. The remaining guardians and their keys are part of that continuation, so the demo cannot provide a complete route beyond the gate or a confirmed guardian order.

Transfer your demo save to the full version
Konami says a demo save can transfer to the full version when the conditions below are met:
- Play the demo and full game on the same platform.
- Use the same account for both versions.
- Keep the demo save data on the system; do not delete it before launching the full game.
- Update the full game before attempting to load or import the demo progress.
Some demo features may be restricted during transfer. If your progress does not appear, first verify the platform, account and save retention requirements before replaying the boss.

Common points of confusion
The door will not open with one key
This is expected. The Fallen supplies the first key, but the door requires three. The two missing keys are tied to guardians outside the demo.
The Cestus is not in the reservoir
Check whether you already collected it before the boss. If not, make sure you are using the whip on the high grate and hidden Anchor rather than searching only at floor level.
There is no new story scene after the boss
The demo has no credits sequence or story-ending cutscene after The Fallen. The sealed Catacombs gate is the content boundary.
A route still looks unreachable
Look for a golden Anchor above or across the gap. The Arcane Whip is the intended solution to previously inaccessible sewer ledges; the Holy Cross is not a traversal tool.
