Before buying a PC deckbuilding game, check the exact game’s requirements against your computer, confirm support for your preferred controls, and read the refund policy of the store taking your payment. These are separate checks: a game may meet your PC’s listed minimums but not work the way you want with a controller, and Steam’s refund terms do not automatically apply to purchases from other sellers.
Will this deckbuilding game run on my PC?
Use the store listing for the specific game and operating system you plan to use. Requirements vary by title; one game’s modest minimums do not predict what another deckbuilder needs. Compare the listed minimum processor, memory, graphics, operating system, and storage with your computer. Minimum requirements are a compatibility baseline, not a promise of a particular frame rate or experience.
For example, Steam lists these Windows minimum requirements for Balatro: a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 x64, an Intel Core i3, 1 GB RAM, OpenGL 2.1-compatible integrated graphics, and 150 MB of available storage. Those figures apply to Balatro, not the deckbuilding genre as a whole. See the current Balatro Steam listing.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Also distinguish the game’s requirements from the store client’s requirements. Steam states that its client has supported Windows 10 and later since January 1, 2024. That client requirement is separate from the operating system listed for a particular game; check both before purchasing or installing through Steam.

Does it support a controller?
Look for controller information on the individual game’s store page, then check whether it covers the controller and setup you intend to use. A listing’s controller disclosure is about that title; it does not establish that every controller, layout, or configuration will work equally well.
- Check the store page for the game’s controller-support information.
- If you plan to play on a Steam Deck, check its compatibility rating and details separately.
- If the game requires a community layout, manual setup, or touchscreen navigation for some tasks, account for those adjustments rather than assuming it will work like a game with full out-of-the-box controller support.
Is it Steam Deck Verified?
Steam Deck compatibility is a device-specific signal, separate from a PC game’s listed hardware requirements and its general controller disclosures. Valve uses four labels:
Rank #2
- Two to Four players take the roles of various Insurgency and Regime parallel universe characters to battle for dominance
- DC Deckbuilding Game: Injustice - EN
- Helps childrens in activity learning
- Quick and easy game for family and friends
- Verified: The game works well on Deck out of the box. Valve’s criteria include full controller support, appropriate controller prompts, readable display text, seamless navigation, and system support.
- Playable: The game works, but may require user adjustments.
- Unsupported: The game currently does not function on Steam Deck.
- Unknown: Valve has not checked the game.
Valve says a Verified title should have full controller support, use appropriate controller input icons, and bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed. Its Steamworks review criteria also say that Deck controls should provide access to all game content through the default configuration. Needing to select a community layout manually or relying on touchscreen navigation can result in a Playable rating instead. Check the game’s current rating and its details on the Steam Deck compatibility page and in the store listing; a Deck rating does not prove that every desktop controller setup behaves identically. Valve’s technical criteria are in its Steam Deck and Steam Machine Compatibility Review.
Can I refund a Steam game if I don’t like it?
For a game bought directly on Steam, Valve’s standard refund offer is for requests made within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime. Valve says customers can still request a refund outside those standard conditions, but an exception is not guaranteed. The policy also notes that consumers in some jurisdictions may have additional rights. The Steam refund policy page was last updated April 23, 2024; check its current terms and any rights that apply where you live.
Rank #3
- Three Crossover Pack expansions: The Rogues, Birds of Prey, and New Gods
- New game mechanics: Teamwork, card rotation, Homeworlds
- FOIL oversized Character cards
- Black Racer Promo Card in every box
- Requires any DC Deck-Building Game base game to play
The seller matters. Valve does not provide Steam refunds for purchases made outside Steam, such as third-party keys. For those purchases, check the seller’s own refund terms before paying; do not assume Steam’s time limits or process will apply.
