The WiiM Bar is designed to make a TV setup more immersive without starting with a traditional AV receiver: it works as a standalone 3.0.2 soundbar, with HDMI eARC, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, and optional expansion to 5.1.2 with compatible WiiM devices. Those are manufacturer specifications, not proof of how it sounds in a particular room. Its official product page lists $479 and “Coming Soon,” so check local availability before buying.
What the WiiM Bar adds on its own
WiiM describes the Bar as a 3.0.2-channel soundbar. In that layout, the front channels handle left, center and right audio, while two top-firing drivers are intended to add height effects. The company lists Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. Whether those formats produce a convincing sense of height depends on the room, placement, TV and source material; the published specifications do not establish a listening result.
WiiM also lists eight drivers, four passive radiators, 135W system power and a 2.1-inch display. These are product specifications, not independent measures of sound quality or a guarantee that it will outperform another soundbar. The display may be useful if you want basic playback information visible on the unit, while the included wall brackets give you an alternative to placing it on furniture.

How it connects to a TV
WiiM recommends connecting the Bar to the TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port. The setup guide also documents optical and line inputs. If your TV has no ARC/eARC port, optical is the fallback; WiiM notes that the TV remote cannot adjust the Bar’s volume over that optical connection.

The Bar has HDMI eARC but, according to TechRadar’s launch coverage, no HDMI passthrough. That matters if you planned to route a game console, player or streaming device through the soundbar: check the TV’s available HDMI ports and connect those devices to the TV instead where appropriate. Also confirm that the TV and source device can pass through the audio format you want to use; Bar support alone does not guarantee the full chain supports it.
Setup and placement
WiiM’s setup guide calls for the Bar, a smartphone or tablet, Wi-Fi, and a TV or other audio source. The package list includes an HDMI cable, optical cable, power cable, remote and wall brackets, so a separate HDMI cable is not a default requirement.

- Place the Bar at the TV, leaving its front and top speakers unobstructed. Avoid blocking the TV’s infrared receiver.
- Connect the TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port to the Bar, or use optical or line input if that better fits the equipment.
- Connect power and turn the Bar on.
- Use the WiiM Home app to complete setup, then check for firmware updates.
WiiM’s firmware notes list version 5.2.829051, released September 11, 2026, with changes including improved Ethernet stability, surround balance and default height-audio level. Check the WiiM firmware page for the current version and release notes before setup.
What is required for surround expansion
The Bar can be used by itself; adding other speakers is optional. WiiM documents three configurations: the standalone 3.0.2 Bar, a 3.1.2 setup with a Sub Pro, and a 5.1.2 setup with a Sub Pro plus two compatible surround channels. The documented surrounds can be two WiiM Sound or Sound Lite speakers, or a WiiM streamer/streaming amplifier connected to two passive speakers.

For the 5.1.2 arrangement, WiiM’s expansion guide places the Bar by the TV and the two surround channels behind the listening position. Add the compatible devices in the WiiM Home app and confirm the surround connections there. “Wireless” describes the audio link between compatible WiiM devices; the companion speakers or equipment still need power and network setup.
Price and availability
WiiM’s product page displayed a price of $479 USD and “Coming Soon” when accessed October 7, 2026. The company had announced a planned July 2026 release, but that earlier schedule does not confirm current stock, shipping dates or pricing in a particular country. Verify the product page and regional availability before making a purchase decision.

Is it a fit for your setup?
- Consider it if you want a standalone soundbar with HDMI eARC and support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and you may want the option of adding compatible WiiM speakers later.
- Check the fit carefully if your TV lacks ARC/eARC, you depend on HDMI passthrough, or the Bar’s top-firing drivers would be obstructed by a shelf or tight placement.
- Budget beyond the Bar only if you want expansion: the Sub Pro and surround devices are needed for WiiM’s documented expanded configurations, not for basic TV use.
WiiM CEO Dr. Lifeng Zhao told TechRadar, “We don’t want to make a legacy AVR,” describing the company’s aim for a simpler TV and music experience. That is useful context for the product’s direction, not an independent assessment of its sound. Without a tested room, TV and source setup, there is no basis to claim that the Bar makes a home cinema more enjoyable in practice.
