Pack the devices you need to work, their compatible chargers and cables, and any backup power or connectivity your itinerary actually requires. Keep fragile electronics and spare lithium batteries in your carry-on; check airline and destination rules before you fly. There is no universal remote-work kit: your devices, route, flight carrier, and access to outlets determine what belongs in the bag.
Start with the devices you will use
Build your carry-on around the work you need to do, rather than packing every accessory you own. TSA recommends keeping fragile or expensive electronics in carry-on baggage. Its guidance also advises organizing cords and your bag for screening. See the TSA item list and TSA travel tips.
- Work device: Bring the laptop or tablet needed for the trip.
- Power: Pack that device’s compatible power adapter and charging cable.
- Phone: Include the phone and the cable or charger it uses.
- Connection cables: Bring only the extra cables or adapters needed for the devices you packed. Wrap cords and keep them together; a dedicated cable pouch is optional.
- Calls and focus: Add headphones or earbuds if you need them for calls or concentrated work. They are a practical choice, not a required item.
Match chargers and cables to your actual devices. The available official guidance does not establish one charger wattage or connector as right for every traveler.
Decide whether backup power is worth the space
A power bank can help if your workday or time in transit may outlast access to an outlet. It is optional, and its capacity matters: check the printed watt-hour (Wh) rating and the current rules of your operating airline before packing it.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For U.S. passenger baggage, FAA guidance allows rechargeable lithium batteries rated 0–100 Wh; batteries rated 101–160 Wh require airline approval; and batteries over 160 Wh are prohibited. Spare lithium batteries, including power banks and portable chargers, must travel in the cabin, not checked baggage. TSA also lists external battery chargers and power banks as carry-on only. Read the FAA passenger battery guidance and TSA item list.
These are U.S. guidance thresholds; airlines and international rules may set stricter limits, including on quantity or capacity. Confirm the requirements for your carrier and route rather than assuming the U.S. limits settle every itinerary.

If your carry-on is gate-checked
FAA says spare batteries and power banks must be removed from a carry-on bag checked at the gate or planeside and kept with you. Keep them accessible so you can do that if needed. The FAA also says a damaged or recalled battery or battery-powered device likely to spark or generate dangerous heat must not be carried aboard unless its battery has been removed or otherwise made safe. Consult FAA PackSafe and its lithium battery guidance.

Add only the extras your itinerary calls for
International plug adapter
If you will need wall power abroad, verify the destination’s socket type and the input requirements of your devices before choosing a plug adapter. An adapter changes plug compatibility; do not assume it resolves every device or power requirement.
Mobile data or a hotspot
Consider a mobile data plan, eSIM, or hotspot only if your route or accommodation makes a backup connection useful. Coverage and pricing depend on the destination and provider; the official sources cited here do not verify specific providers, coverage, or prices.
