For most PX4 Pro owners, the best starting point is a screen specified for ultra-short-throw (UST) projectors and ambient-light rejection (ALR). Hisense lists 100-inch and 120-inch ALR screens for this projector in Canada. In a room you can darken reliably, a fixed-frame UST screen is also worth considering, but “fixed-frame” describes the mounting style, not the screen’s optical compatibility. The screen must still be designed for UST geometry.

Do not choose solely from the projector’s headline brightness. Hisense advertises 3500 ANSI lumens and a 6500:1 contrast ratio, yet the published pages reviewed do not give a room-light threshold, measured ALR performance, gain, or viewing-angle data for the named screens. Your room, target size, wall space and installation method should decide the purchase.

Which screen type fits the PX4 Pro?

Choose UST ALR for a room with daylight or lights on

An ALR screen is the most logical first option when windows, lamps or ceiling lights remain on during viewing. Hisense describes its optional ALR screen as a way to reject ambient light and improve perceived contrast, brightness and color accuracy in bright rooms. That is the screen’s intended role; it does not mean daylight disappears or that every room will achieve the same result.

UST ALR material uses a directional optical structure intended for the steep light path from an ultra-short-throw projector while reducing some light arriving from other directions. Because the PX4 Pro sits close to the wall, ordinary front-projection material can produce uneven brightness, glare or a visibly raised black level. A screen explicitly labeled for UST projection is therefore more important than a generic “bright-room” or “fixed” label.

Choose a fixed-frame UST screen when the room is controlled

“Fixed-frame” tells you how the screen is held: the material is stretched over a rigid frame that stays on the wall. It does not tell you whether the optical surface is suitable for a UST projector. In a dark or controllable room, a fixed-frame UST screen can be attractive because it offers a permanent, flat viewing surface and avoids the mechanical complexity of a retractable product.

You can also buy a fixed-frame screen that is itself an ALR design. The two terms are not competing categories: one describes mounting, the other light handling. Before ordering, confirm both specifications in the manufacturer’s documentation: UST-compatible and, if needed, ALR.

PX4 Pro figures that affect screen buying

The following published specifications set the boundaries for sizing and installation. Hisense’s figures are manufacturer claims; ProjectorCentral’s throw ratio is a separate listed specification and is slightly more precise.

Item Published value What it means for your screen
Throw ratio 0.2:1 (Hisense Canada); 0.19:1 (ProjectorCentral) The projector forms a very large image from a short wall distance. Verify the screen’s UST geometry and placement instructions rather than estimating from a conventional projector calculator.
Advertised image range 80–200 inches The projector is marketed for sizes well beyond the named Hisense ALR products. A larger image may require more careful physical alignment and a different screen solution.
Advertised brightness 3500 ANSI lumens (Hisense USA) A high stated output can help in brighter rooms, but it is not a published guarantee of usable brightness on a particular screen or at a particular daylight level.
Advertised contrast 6500:1 (Hisense USA) Contrast in your room depends on reflected light, screen behavior and picture settings as well as the projector specification.
Adjustable iris Seven levels (Hisense USA) The projector provides a way to trade light output for image-character preferences, but the appropriate level depends on screen size and room conditions.
Hisense ALR sizes listed in Canada 100 inches (DLT100-E) and 120 inches (DLT120-C) These are the named options to investigate first; they do not cover every size in the projector’s advertised range.
Automatic screen alignment limit Up to 120 inches (Hisense Singapore) Do not assume automatic alignment applies to a screen larger than 120 inches.

Pick the diagonal before you pick the frame

100 inches

A 100-inch screen is the smaller of Hisense’s two listed ALR choices. It needs less wall width and is easier to accommodate in a lounge where furniture, shelving or a low media console limits the available area. It also leaves more flexibility if viewers sit relatively close or if you want a less dominant image.

120 inches

The 120-inch DLT120-C is the larger listed Hisense ALR option. It suits viewers who want a more cinematic image and have enough clear wall height for the frame and the projector’s light path. It is also the largest size for which the Singapore product page says automatic screen alignment is available.

Above 120 inches

The PX4 Pro is advertised for images up to 200 inches, but Hisense’s named ALR products in the Canadian material stop at 120 inches. A larger screen therefore requires you to find a separate UST-compatible solution and plan alignment manually or with the projector’s available tools. Do not infer that the 100-inch or 120-inch screen material scales to 150, 180 or 200 inches.

Measure the usable wall, not just the diagonal you have in mind. Account for the frame, speakers, shelves, electrical outlets and the projector’s footprint. A screen that technically fits the wall can still be impractical if the projector cannot sit squarely on the required surface or if furniture blocks the lower image edge.

How room light changes the recommendation

Daylight that cannot be blocked

Prioritize UST ALR. Close curtains where possible, but select the screen on the assumption that some light will remain. Ask the seller for the exact optical specification of the screen you are considering; the reviewed Hisense pages explain the ALR purpose but do not publish a rejection percentage, gain or viewing-angle measurement.

Lights on for sports, games or casual viewing

ALR remains the safer choice because it is intended to preserve perceived contrast in ambient light. Keep expectations realistic: a screen can reduce the effect of off-axis room light, but it cannot make a sunlit wall behave like a dark cinema. Light-colored walls, glossy furniture and windows opposite the screen can still wash out blacks.

A room that can be darkened

You can compare a fixed-frame UST screen with an ALR model on equal terms. In this situation, prioritize a genuinely flat installation, the correct UST optical design and the diagonal that fits your seating distance. The available product pages do not establish a particular white fixed-frame model or prove that one performs better than Hisense’s ALR screens, so treat any alternative’s gain and viewing-angle claims as product-specific evidence to verify.

Check regional package contents before paying

Screen inclusion is not universal. Hisense Singapore states that the ALR screen is not included with the PX4 Pro. That is a regional product-page statement, not proof that every country uses the same bundle. Before checkout, read the contents list for your market and model number. If it says only “projector,” budget separately for the screen, wall hardware and any installation accessories.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Also confirm the exact screen model. The Canadian listing identifies DLT100-E at 100 inches and DLT120-C at 120 inches. A retailer may use a different suffix, package or regional name; match the diagonal, UST designation and mounting hardware rather than relying on a photograph.

A practical buying and installation process

  1. Measure the wall and seating area. Record clear wall width and height, the distance from the primary seats to the wall, the height of the media console and the locations of outlets and speakers.
  2. Classify the light. Note whether daylight is present during viewing, whether lights point toward the screen and whether curtains can reduce that light. This determines whether ALR is a requirement or simply an option.
  3. Set a target diagonal. Start with 100 or 120 inches if you want a named Hisense ALR product. Consider a larger diagonal only after confirming a separate UST screen and a workable alignment plan.
  4. Verify UST compatibility in writing. Look for a specification that explicitly supports ultra-short-throw projection. Do not treat “fixed-frame,” “high contrast” or “bright-room” as substitutes for that statement.
  5. Confirm the frame and hardware. Check whether the package includes the rigid frame, wall brackets, feet or other mounting parts you need. A rigid frame must be mounted level and sufficiently flat for a UST image.
  6. Position the screen first. Install or place the screen at the manufacturer’s specified height and keep it level. UST projectors are highly sensitive to vertical and horizontal errors because a small change at the projector can move the image substantially at the top of the screen.
  7. Place the PX4 Pro on a stable, square surface. Keep the chassis parallel to the screen and use the stated throw geometry as a starting point. Do not slide the projector sideways to “center” an image that is actually caused by a crooked screen.
  8. Use alignment sparingly. The Singapore page limits automatic screen alignment to screen sizes up to 120 inches. For larger screens, plan to align carefully by physical placement and the projector’s available controls instead of assuming the automatic feature will apply.
  9. Test with real content and room lighting. Check subtitles, straight lines and bright highlights with the lights in their normal viewing state. Look for corner focus differences, glare and visible hotspots before finalizing cable management or wall anchors.

What the published specifications do not tell you

The reviewed pages do not provide an independently measured brightness threshold for a room, a measured ambient-light-rejection percentage, screen gain, viewing-angle behavior or detailed optical construction for DLT100-E and DLT120-C. Those omissions matter because ALR performance is not a single universal number. It varies with the direction and color of room light, seating position, screen texture and projector placement.

For the same reason, 3500 ANSI lumens and 6500:1 contrast should be read as manufacturer specifications, not as a promise that every 120-inch image will look equally bright or contrasty in every room. The seven-level iris gives you a control for balancing output and image character, but it cannot compensate for a screen that is the wrong optical type or a room with direct light on the surface.

Common mistakes and fixes

Buying a conventional fixed-frame screen

Symptom: the image has uneven brightness, glare or poor focus near the edges. Fix: replace the assumption that “fixed-frame” is enough with a specification check for UST compatibility. The frame style can stay; the optical material may need to change.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Assuming ALR means blackout performance

Symptom: blacks look gray when windows are bright. Fix: reduce the strongest light sources, especially light aimed at the screen, and judge the screen under the lighting you will actually use. ALR is intended to reject some ambient light, not to eliminate all washout.

Ordering a 150-inch screen because the projector supports 200 inches

Symptom: the chosen screen is difficult to align or the advertised automatic correction is unavailable. Fix: remember that the 80–200-inch projector range and the 100/120-inch Hisense ALR listings describe different things. Confirm the larger screen’s UST design and plan a physical alignment workflow.

Expecting the screen in the box

Symptom: installation stops when only the projector arrives. Fix: verify the local package contents before ordering. Hisense Singapore explicitly lists the ALR screen as not included.

Decision summary

  • Bright or mixed-light room: investigate a UST-compatible ALR screen first; the 100-inch DLT100-E and 120-inch DLT120-C are the named Hisense options in Canada.
  • Dark, permanent installation: a fixed-frame UST screen is reasonable, including a fixed-frame ALR model if you want extra light control.
  • More than 120 inches: treat it as a custom sizing decision. The projector is advertised up to 200 inches, but the named Hisense ALR choices and the stated automatic-alignment limit stop at 120 inches.
  • Any room: verify UST compatibility, measure the wall, confirm the regional bundle and avoid treating brightness or contrast claims as a substitute for screen specifications.
