Samsung’s work for Apple spans chip manufacturing, OLED displays, and other reported electronics components—but the evidence comes from different Samsung companies and does not establish which current Apple models use each part. The clearest current official detail is Apple’s 2025 announcement that Samsung’s Austin, Texas fab will make chips for Apple products, including iPhones; Apple did not name the chip type.
What parts does Samsung make for Apple?
The documented relationships fall into three categories: chips made through work at Samsung’s Austin fab, OLED panels reportedly supplied by Samsung Display, and other iPhone components reportedly supplied by Samsung Electro-Mechanics. These are separate Samsung entities, and the available sources do not establish current model-by-model allocations or order volumes.

What is confirmed about Samsung’s chip work?
Apple said in August 2025 that it was working with Samsung at Samsung’s Austin, Texas fab on a new chip-making technology. Apple described the facility as a future source of chips intended to optimize power and performance in Apple products, including iPhones shipped worldwide. This is the strongest current official statement about a specific Samsung–Apple manufacturing effort.
Apple did not say whether the chips are application processors, identify any chip by name, or disclose a launch date or production quantity. The announcement therefore does not support saying that Samsung is making Apple’s A-series iPhone processors. It establishes chip manufacturing for Apple products, with iPhones among the intended uses, but leaves the specific chip category open.

Does Samsung make iPhone screens?
Samsung Display is named alongside LG Display as an OLED-panel supplier to Apple in April 2024 reporting. That supports describing Samsung Display as a reported supplier, not claiming that every iPhone OLED screen comes from Samsung. The report does not identify which current iPhone models use its panels, whether any model’s panels are exclusive to it, or how many panels it supplies.
What other iPhone components are reported?
April 2024 reporting identifies Samsung Electro-Mechanics as a supplier of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and FC-BGA semiconductor substrates for iPhone production. MLCCs are electronic components used in circuits; FC-BGA substrates package and connect semiconductor chips. The report supports these categories as reported supply, but does not establish the current products or quantities involved.

Why Samsung’s supplier records need context
Apple’s FY2022 supplier list names Samsung Electronics Company Limited and lists manufacturing locations in Jiangsu and Shaanxi in China mainland, Chungcheongnam-Do and Gyeonggi-Do in South Korea, Texas in the United States, and Bac Ninh in Vietnam. Apple FY2022 Supplier List

- How many panels, chips, capacitors, or substrates Samsung supplies, or what share of Apple’s orders it receives.
- The commercial terms, production volumes, and precise start date for the Austin chip work.
Apple’s general supply-chain overview explains its supplier relationships broadly but does not identify specific Samsung components. The supplier claims above should therefore be read at the level each source supports: an official but nonspecific chip-making announcement, dated reporting on component categories, and a FY2022 supplier list that records locations rather than parts.
