On XREAL’s documented One Pro glasses, resolution describes image detail, refresh rate describes how often the image updates, field of view (FOV) describes the angular size of the virtual screen, and 3DoF describes rotational head tracking. In practical terms, the glasses use a Full HD image for each eye, can refresh at up to 120Hz, present a 57-degree view, and provide native rotational tracking through the built-in X1 chip.

One naming issue matters before you buy: XREAL’s first-party materials consistently call the product XREAL One Pro. “Xreal One Pro Plus” appears in some secondary coverage, but a distinct first-party “Plus” specification was not established. Check the exact regional retail listing and model number.

The model name: One Pro or One Pro Plus?

XREAL’s official One Series launch material and product documentation identify the glasses as XREAL One Pro. A recent secondary article uses “Xreal One Pro Plus,” but that name is not consistently used in XREAL’s own documentation. Treat “Plus” as a listing or naming discrepancy rather than proof of a separate hardware model.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The specifications in this guide are therefore the published One Pro figures. Before ordering, confirm that a seller’s listing identifies the same One Pro hardware, region, included accessories and warranty. Do not assume that a “Plus” label means a higher resolution, wider FOV or additional tracking capability.

What resolution means

1920×1080 is per eye

Resolution is the number of addressable pixels used to draw an image. The One Pro manual and XREAL’s SDK documentation specify 1920×1080 for each eye. The left and right displays each receive their own Full HD frame; this is not one 1920×1080 canvas split between both eyes.

Per-eye resolution matters because each eye views a separate image with slightly different perspective information. A per-eye specification gives a much clearer idea of available detail than a marketing number that fails to say whether it is per eye or combined. Text, interface controls and fine edges benefit when the source is rendered at the glasses’ native format.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Resolution is not the same as perceived sharpness

The pixel grid is only one part of what you see. Lens alignment, interpupillary distance (IPD), eye position, brightness, the quality of the source image and the size of the virtual screen all affect perceived clarity. XREAL lists two IPD ranges for the One Pro—57–66mm and 66–75mm—and the correct fit helps place each display in front of the corresponding eye.

A video recorded at a lower resolution cannot gain real detail merely because the glasses have a Full HD panel. Conversely, a sharp 1920×1080 source can look soft if the glasses sit too high, too low or too far from the ideal eye position.

How the wide view affects pixel density

Resolution counts pixels; FOV describes the angle over which those pixels are spread. A wider view can make the virtual screen feel more expansive, but it does not create additional pixels. Small text therefore still depends on application scaling, viewing distance and correct fit.

What refresh rate means

Up to 120 updates per second

Refresh rate is the number of times the display can redraw each second. The One Pro is specified for up to 120Hz. At that setting, head movement, scrolling and animation can appear smoother than at a lower refresh rate, provided the source device and the selected display mode support it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“Up to” is important. A connected phone, computer, game console, cable or operating-system mode may output a lower rate. Some applications also render at their own frame rate. The panel can accept a 120Hz mode without an app producing 120 new frames every second.

Refresh rate and motion-to-photon latency

XREAL’s One Series launch release associates the X1 chip’s approximately 3ms motion-to-photon figure with operation at 120Hz. Motion-to-photon latency is the time between a movement being detected and the corresponding visual change appearing. It is different from refresh rate: 120Hz describes the display update cadence, while latency describes responsiveness through the sensing, processing and display pipeline.

Lower latency can make an anchored or floating screen feel more stable during head movement. It does not increase resolution, enlarge the FOV or make a game render more frames than its source can produce.

When 120Hz is most useful

  • Scrolling and desktop work: fast pointer movement and scrolling can look more continuous.
  • Games: motion may feel more immediate when the game and source device sustain a matching frame rate.
  • Video: most films are not mastered at 120 frames per second, so the benefit is usually more apparent in interface motion than in ordinary movie playback.
  • Battery and compatibility: higher-refresh output can increase power use or be unavailable on a particular USB-C video path.

What a 57-degree field of view means

FOV is an angle, not a pixel measurement

Field of view is the angular width of the scene visible through the optics. The One Pro is listed at 57 degrees. A wider FOV lets a virtual screen occupy more of your peripheral vision, which can make a large desktop or cinema-style display feel less like a small floating rectangle.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

FOV does not tell you how many pixels the display has or how sharp the image is. Two devices can use the same resolution but present it over different angles; the wider presentation spreads the available pixels across more of the view.

The advertised screen equivalent

XREAL also advertises a 171-inch-equivalent screen when viewed from a distance of four metres. This is a geometric comparison intended to communicate apparent screen size, not a physical 171-inch panel and not a guarantee that every app will fill that area. Your perceived size changes with the selected screen mode, content and eye position.

Why users perceive FOV differently

Face shape, IPD, lens position and the way the glasses sit on your nose can change the usable edge of the image. If part of the virtual screen is clipped, adjust the fit before concluding that the published FOV is unavailable. The One Pro also lists three-level electrochromic shading, which changes the amount of outside light rather than changing the geometric FOV.

What 3DoF means on the One Pro

The three rotational axes

Three degrees of freedom means the glasses measure rotation around three axes:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Yaw: turning your head left or right.
  • Pitch: looking up or down.
  • Roll: tilting your head toward either shoulder.

With those measurements, the system can update the virtual display so it appears to remain in a chosen orientation as you move your head.

Anchor and Follow behavior

XREAL describes two useful screen behaviors. Anchor keeps the screen fixed relative to the surrounding space, so turning your head makes the display move toward the edge of your view. Follow lets the screen move more gently with you instead of behaving like a rigid object in the room. These modes change how the image responds to rotation; they do not add physical room-position tracking.

What 3DoF does not track

3DoF knows how the glasses are rotating, but it does not by itself know that you have walked one metre forward, stepped sideways or moved your hands. It is therefore different from six degrees of freedom (6DoF), which combines rotation with positional movement along three axes.

Do you need Beam Pro for 3DoF?

No. Beam Pro is not a prerequisite for the One Pro’s native 3DoF. The X1 spatial co-processing chip provides the rotational tracking and screen behaviors directly in the glasses when used with a compatible video source.

Beam Pro and the optional XREAL Eye belong to workflows that add camera-based capabilities. They may be useful when you specifically need features that depend on an external computing device or camera input, but they should not be described as required to obtain Anchor or Follow behavior from the glasses themselves.

How the four specifications work together

If your priority is… Pay closest attention to… Reason
Readable desktop text Per-eye resolution, IPD fit and application scaling Detail depends on the pixel grid and whether your eyes are correctly aligned with it.
Fast games or smooth scrolling Refresh rate and source frame-rate support The display’s maximum mode helps only when the source and software can feed it appropriately.
A cinema-sized virtual screen FOV and screen-mode controls FOV determines how much of your view the image can occupy; it does not increase pixel count.
A screen that stays oriented as you look around Native 3DoF and Anchor/Follow behavior Rotational tracking changes the screen’s response to head movement.
Walking-position or camera-based interaction Whether the setup includes compatible camera-assisted hardware Native 3DoF alone does not measure translation or hand location.

Setting up the glasses for the expected experience

  1. Confirm the model: verify that the listing and documentation identify the XREAL One Pro, rather than assuming “One Pro Plus” is a separate specification tier.
  2. Use a video-capable connection: connect the glasses to a source that supports USB-C DisplayPort output. A USB-C connector that carries power or data only will not provide the required video signal.
  3. Select a supported display mode: in the source device’s display settings, choose the highest resolution and refresh combination it offers for the glasses. If 120Hz is absent, the source, cable, adapter or operating system may be limiting the mode.
  4. Fit the glasses carefully: position the frame so both eyes are centered on their displays, then select the IPD variant that matches your measurement. Misalignment can look like a resolution problem.
  5. Choose the spatial behavior: use the glasses’ available controls or compatible software to select Anchor when you want a space-oriented screen, or Follow when you want the display to remain more closely with your view.
  6. Adjust outside-light control: use the three-level electrochromic shading setting to improve contrast in bright surroundings. Shading changes ambient-light transmission, not the display’s resolution or FOV.

Common misunderstandings and fixes

“The glasses say 120Hz, so my game must be 120 frames per second.”

Refresh capacity and rendered frame rate are separate. Check the game’s graphics settings, the source device’s output mode and the connection path. If any one of them is limited to a lower rate, the glasses cannot manufacture the missing frames.

“57 degrees means the image should be sharper.”

FOV controls angular coverage. For sharpness, check the per-eye resolution, source quality, IPD alignment, lens cleanliness and application scaling.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“1080p is shared between both eyes.”

The documented figure is per eye. Each display receives its own 1920×1080 image, although the final binocular view still depends on how software renders the two perspectives.

XREAL xbx a01+ AR Glasses, 147'' Big-Screen Display for Movies & Gaming | 62g Ultralight, 50°FOV, Bright 1600-nit HDR10, USB-C DP for iPhone, iPad, Android, Steam Deck, ROG & PC
  • YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
  • ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
  • 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
  • LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
  • WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.

“The screen drifts when I walk, so 3DoF is broken.”

Walking introduces positional movement that rotational 3DoF does not measure. If you need a camera-assisted or positional workflow, use compatible additional hardware rather than expecting native 3DoF to provide 6DoF.

“The listing says One Pro Plus, so it must have different specifications.”

That conclusion is not established by XREAL’s first-party documentation. Confirm the exact model number, regional page and included equipment before comparing specifications.

How to compare the One Pro with other AR glasses

Compare like with like instead of relying on a single headline number:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Record whether resolution is stated per eye or for both displays combined.
  • Check the maximum refresh rate together with the source devices and modes that can actually drive it.
  • Compare FOV as an angle, and ask whether the figure is diagonal or horizontal if the manufacturer specifies that distinction.
  • Separate native rotational 3DoF from camera-assisted or positional 6DoF.
  • Check fit-related details such as IPD ranges, brightness or dimming controls, comfort and prescription compatibility independently of the four headline terms.
  • Confirm connectivity, especially USB-C DisplayPort support, because a physically compatible connector may not carry video.

Bottom line for a prospective buyer

The documented XREAL One Pro combines a 1920×1080-per-eye display with up-to-120Hz refresh, a 57-degree FOV and native rotational 3DoF from the X1 chip. Resolution tells you how much detail each eye can receive; refresh rate tells you how smoothly that image can update; FOV tells you how broadly it occupies your view; and 3DoF tells you how the screen responds when your head rotates.

Beam Pro is optional for camera-assisted workflows, not required for native 3DoF. Because “One Pro Plus” is not consistently identified in XREAL’s own materials, verify the exact retail model before treating any listing as a distinct product.
