Amazon Prime Video is Amazon’s service for streaming movies and TV shows. In the United States, Amazon presents some Prime Video titles as a benefit of an Amazon Prime membership, but the catalog also includes titles that cost extra to rent or buy and subscriptions offered separately. Seeing a title in the catalog does not mean it is included with Prime.
What does Amazon Prime Video include?
Prime Video is the service and catalog; the access a particular title requires depends on its listing. Amazon’s catalog distinguishes titles available through Prime from titles available to rent or buy, and some titles are tied to subscriptions. Availability and access labels can change, so check the listing in your country before you watch.
In the United States, Amazon describes popular movies and shows, including Amazon Originals, as a Prime membership benefit. Is Prime Video included with Amazon Prime?
In the U.S., Amazon presents Prime Video as one of the benefits of Prime membership. However, a Prime membership does not make every item in the Prime Video catalog free to watch. Some titles are included, while others require a rental or purchase, or access through a separate subscription. Look at the title’s current access label rather than relying on its presence in search results.

Do you have to pay extra to watch some titles?
Yes. A title may be available to rent or buy even if it appears in the Prime Video catalog. Other content may require a separate subscription, such as an add-on subscription. These are different access types, not necessarily a problem with your membership.

Why might there be a Prime Video-related charge?
A charge associated with Prime Video could be for an Amazon Prime membership renewal, a Prime Video subscription, or an add-on subscription. Fire TV is one way to access the service, not a requirement. On Fire TV, Amazon describes opening Prime Video from the home screen, searching for a title, or using the Prime Video app. Other compatible devices may also provide access; check the app availability for your device and country.
