iCloud+ combines expanded iCloud storage with privacy, email, invitation, and smart-home features. Apple currently lists plans with 50 GB, 200 GB, 2 TB, 6 TB, or 12 TB of storage, but its current feature pages do not establish that any listed feature was recently added. What matters for subscribers is which features are available now, what each plan allows, and whether the bundle fits their needs.
What iCloud+ includes
iCloud+ is Apple’s paid iCloud subscription. In addition to storage for photos, files, and backups, Apple currently lists iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, custom email domains, Apple Invites, and HomeKit Secure Video among its subscriber features. Availability and monthly prices vary by country or region, and some features have regional or operating-system requirements. Check Apple’s plan page for the options available where you live.
Apple’s current listings confirm that Apple Invites is included, but do not establish when it was added. Its presence in today’s feature list is not evidence of a recent launch.

iCloud Private Relay
Private Relay is designed to add privacy to Safari browsing. Apple says traffic passes through two separate relays operated by different entities, so no single party—including Apple—can see both a user’s IP address and the details of their browsing activity. It is not a general-purpose VPN that routes all internet traffic. Apple notes that concealing an IP address can mean extra steps to sign in to or access some websites. See Apple’s iCloud+ overview and privacy features page.

Hide My Email
Hide My Email creates unique, random addresses that forward to a personal inbox. You can use one instead of disclosing your personal email address. Apple documents creating, editing, pausing or reactivating, and deleting addresses through iCloud.com; some setup and management also requires an Apple device. Instructions are in Apple’s iCloud+ feature guide.
Custom email domains
With iCloud Mail, subscribers can use a domain they own or purchase a new domain through iCloud.com, subject to Apple’s setup requirements. The subscription does not mean domain registration is free; check the registration terms and cost separately. See Apple’s iCloud+ setup guide.

Apple Invites
Apple’s current iCloud+ feature list includes tools to create and share custom invitations for events. The current listing confirms availability as a feature, not the date it was introduced. See Apple’s iCloud+ overview and subscriber guide.
HomeKit Secure Video
HomeKit Secure Video lets subscribers view supported camera activity in the Home app. Apple says footage is end-to-end encrypted, does not count against iCloud storage, and is analyzed privately by the home hub to identify people, pets, or cars. Subscribers can view the last 10 days of activity. Setup requires a compatible camera and a supported home hub; confirm compatibility before buying equipment. Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video guide explains setup and limits.

Choose a plan by storage and camera needs
Apple currently lists five iCloud+ storage capacities. Its HomeKit Secure Video guide sets a separate camera allowance for each plan tier:
| iCloud+ plan | Storage | HomeKit Secure Video camera allowance |
|---|---|---|
| 50 GB | 50 GB | 1 camera |
| 200 GB | 200 GB | Up to 5 cameras |
| 2 TB | 2 TB | Unlimited cameras |
| 6 TB | 6 TB | Unlimited cameras |
| 12 TB | 12 TB | Unlimited cameras |
Apple’s current plan capacities are listed on its iCloud+ page; camera limits are in its HomeKit Secure Video guide. The camera allowance is distinct from storage: Secure Video footage does not use the plan’s iCloud storage quota.

Compare plans using the amount of storage your photos, files, and backups need; the local monthly price; how many cameras you plan to use; and whether family members will share the subscription. Consider the privacy and email tools only if you expect to use them. Apple does not offer one universal price, so check the local storefront for current monthly rates.

Family Sharing lets an iCloud+ subscriber share the plan with up to five other family members, according to Apple’s iCloud+ subscriber guide. If several people need additional storage, include that shared use in your plan choice.
Quick Recap
Before subscribing, changing plans, or canceling
- Check regional availability and price. Features and monthly rates depend on country or region; use Apple’s local plan information.
- Check device and accessory requirements. Some features require specific operating-system versions or compatible equipment. For Secure Video, confirm both camera and home-hub support.
- Expect occasional website friction with Private Relay. Concealed IP addresses may require extra sign-in or access steps on some sites.
- Preserve data before canceling or reducing storage. Apple says canceling removes access to extra storage and subscriber features. Check your storage use and download or otherwise preserve any data you need before making a change; Apple’s cited guidance does not establish a grace period.
