“Delete my account” can describe two different actions in Throne and Liberty: opting out of the announced transfer of game data from Amazon Games to NC, or deleting the Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox account used to play. They have different consequences. Opting out means your characters, progression, and inventory will not move to NC, so you would start over there. Deleting a Steam account permanently removes Steam licenses and associated information and does not automatically refund purchases. The game’s current announcement does not establish equivalent results for deleting a PlayStation or Xbox account.
The normal transition is migration, not deletion. If you take no action during the opt-out window, your game data transfers to NC; you then accept NC’s terms and complete any required activation steps to continue. Read the official service-transition announcement before choosing either option.
Identify which account action you mean
Your result depends on the account layer involved. The service-transition FAQ covers whether your Throne and Liberty data moves from Amazon Games to NC. Steam’s account-deletion policy covers the Steam account itself. The available information does not extend Steam’s policy to console accounts.

What happens if you opt out of the NC transfer?
Opting out is a request not to transfer your existing game data from Amazon Games to NC. It is not a command to delete your Steam, PlayStation or Xbox account, and it does not change the platform account’s general status.

Your existing game state does not move
The official FAQ states: “Your characters, progression, and inventory will not carry over.” In practical terms, the character roster, levels, completed progress and stored items attached to the Amazon Games service remain outside NC’s service. If you later play Throne and Liberty under NC, you must create or use a fresh game state rather than resuming the old one.
Do not assume an immediate wipe
The FAQ says Amazon Games account data will be handled under its standard retention and deletion policies. It does not publish a retention period, identify a date on which every record disappears, or say that an opt-out request instantly erases all information. “Not transferred” and “deleted immediately” are therefore different claims.
Paid items and refunds are not settled by the opt-out statement
The published transition material does not say that opting out automatically refunds purchases. It also does not state that paid entitlements, Lucent or other balances remain available in a new NC account after you start over. Treat the absence of a transfer as a loss of access to the old game state unless official support gives you a different, account-specific answer.

How to decide before submitting an opt-out request
- List the characters, progression milestones and inventory you would be unwilling to lose.
- Record purchase receipts and the platform account identifiers associated with the game.
- Read the opt-out instructions in the official transition announcement and save any confirmation of your request.
- Ask the current game support channel about a particular entitlement if the published FAQ does not answer it.
What happens if you do nothing?
The default path is the standard migration. The FAQ says, “If you take no action during the opt-out window, your game data will be transferred to NC as part of the standard migration.” This is the route intended for players who want to retain their existing game state.
Data and entitlements that transfer
The normal migration includes characters, inventory, progression and entitlements. The FAQ specifically says owned Lucent, Loyalty Points, Sollant and Ornate Coins remain usable before and after the transition. That statement describes the ordinary transfer; it should not be read as a promise that the same balances survive an opt-out or a platform-account deletion.
What you must do after the transfer
Continuing to play requires accepting NC’s Terms and Policies and completing any account-activation steps NC requires. These steps are separate from deleting or recreating a Steam, PlayStation or Xbox account. An activation prompt does not mean your platform account has been deleted or replaced.

Xbox-specific installation requirement
Xbox players will need to install the NC-published app after the transition. Installing that app is part of accessing the migrated service; it is not the same action as deleting an Xbox account.
Dates that control the transition
The current FAQ lists October 30, 2026 as the deadline to request an opt-out and November 10, 2026 as the scheduled start of transition maintenance. These are operational dates published for the current announcement and can change. Check the official page again immediately before acting, especially if you are close to the deadline.
During the normal migration, your existing Steam, PlayStation and Xbox platform accounts remain the same. The change is the service operating the game and the steps required to activate access under NC, not a replacement of those platform identities.

What deleting a Steam account does
Steam Support describes account deletion as permanent. Its “Account Deletion – Common Questions” policy says deleting an account permanently removes game licenses and other associated information. It also identifies the community profile, gifts, inventory items and Steam Wallet funds among the information that will be removed, and says those items cannot be recovered.
Your game license disappears with the Steam account
A Throne and Liberty license held on Steam is tied to the Steam account. Deleting that account removes the license from that account, so you should not expect to launch the game through the deleted identity or to move the license to a replacement Steam account.

Steam’s stated rule is explicit: “Deleting your account will not automatically refund any purchases made on the account.” If you believe a transaction qualifies for a refund, use Steam’s separate refund process before deleting the account and review the eligibility rules that apply to that purchase. Account deletion itself is not a refund submission.

Do not confuse Steam deletion with the NC migration
Steam’s policy concerns the entire Steam account and its licenses and stored information. The game FAQ concerns transfer of Throne and Liberty data from Amazon Games to NC. Deleting Steam is therefore a much broader, platform-level action than opting out of the game-data transfer. The Steam policy does not say what NC will retain, migrate or restore for a separately created account.

The current game FAQ says platform accounts remain unchanged during the ordinary transition, but it does not explain what happens when a player deletes a PlayStation or Xbox account. It does not provide a platform-specific rule for recovering characters, purchases, entitlements or currencies after such deletion.
Why a Steam answer cannot be applied to consoles
Steam, PlayStation and Xbox have different account systems, license records and deletion procedures. Steam’s permanent-removal and no-automatic-refund language is authoritative for Steam, not proof of an identical console outcome. Applying it to a console account would go beyond the published evidence.
Safest sequence for a console player
- Do not delete the platform account while the transition is pending if preserving access matters.
- Confirm whether you are opting out of the game-data transfer or merely considering platform-account deletion; they are separate decisions.
- Save purchase receipts, platform IDs and any in-game account details.
- Ask the relevant PlayStation or Xbox support team what deletion does to licenses and purchases.
- Ask the current Throne and Liberty support channel whether a deleted platform identity can be associated with the migrated game data.
The FAQ says post-transition NC customer-service details will be announced once confirmed, so use the current official support route before the handover and the newly announced route afterward.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Calling opt-out “account deletion.” The opt-out concerns transfer of game data; it does not delete the platform account.
- Assuming silence means a refund. Neither the opt-out material nor Steam’s deletion policy creates an automatic refund for the other action.
- Assuming “not transferred” means “erased today.” Amazon Games refers to standard retention and deletion policies without publishing a period.
- Deleting Steam to solve a migration choice. Steam deletion removes unrelated account assets and is irreversible under Steam’s policy.
- Applying Steam rules to consoles. Console deletion effects require confirmation from the applicable platform and game support teams.
- Waiting past the opt-out deadline. Missing the window leaves the normal migration as the stated default, subject to any updated official notice.
Practical checklist before you act
- Write down which action you intend: opt out, allow migration, or delete a platform account.
- Open the latest official service-transition announcement and verify the deadline and maintenance date.
- Export or record receipts, character names, server details and account identifiers you may need for support.
- If keeping your progress matters, do not opt out and do not delete the platform account until support confirms the consequence.
- If requesting an opt-out, retain the confirmation and understand that starting under NC means a fresh game state.
- If considering Steam deletion, resolve refund questions first because deletion does not automatically issue refunds and removed information cannot be recovered.
- For PlayStation or Xbox, obtain a platform-specific answer before deleting anything.
Bottom line for each scenario
Opting out preserves neither the old characters nor their progression on NC: the FAQ says they will not carry over, and you start fresh. Doing nothing allows the announced migration, including the listed entitlements and currencies, followed by NC’s acceptance and activation steps. Deleting Steam permanently removes the Steam account’s licenses and associated information without an automatic refund. The consequences of deleting a PlayStation or Xbox account are not established by the current game FAQ, so that decision requires direct confirmation from the relevant support channels.
