If Myntra stopped operating, your gift card, Myntra Credit and pending orders would not automatically turn into cash. Myntra gift-card terms limit redemption to the Myntra marketplace, prohibit cash or credit redemption, and direct a cancelled order’s gift-card amount back to the source gift card. A closure could leave recovery dependent on Pine Labs, a successor company, or a formal wind-down or insolvency process. The published terms do not guarantee that pending orders would be delivered or that unused balances would be paid into a bank account.
What the published Myntra gift-card terms actually promise
Pine Labs Limited is identified as the issuer of the Myntra E-Gift Card. Its terms say the card is “redeemable only on Myntra marketplace platform.” That wording makes access to a functioning Myntra checkout part of the ordinary redemption route; it is not a general-purpose prepaid card.
- The stated validity period is one year.
- The card cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.
- The card cannot be reloaded.
- Before use, the stored value must be added to the Myntra Wallet or Myntra User Account.
- If an order is cancelled, the E-Gift Card amount is to be refunded to the source E-Gift Card.
These are operating terms for a live Myntra account and marketplace. They do not contain a separate promise that Pine Labs or Myntra will convert unused value to a bank refund if the marketplace disappears.
Will you lose a Myntra gift card if Myntra shuts down?
There is no published automatic-cash rule to rely on. A shutdown would interrupt the normal redemption path, but the final result would depend on who remains legally responsible for the balance and what that party announces.

If Myntra is still accepting orders
Use the card before the stated expiry date and keep the original voucher email and PIN. The one-year validity period continues to matter while the service operates. A cancelled purchase should return the gift-card-funded amount to that same source card under the cited terms, rather than to a bank account.
If Myntra stops taking orders but the issuer or a successor remains available
Ask Pine Labs or the named successor whether balances will be honoured, reissued, transferred to another account, or refunded. Do not assume a cash option: the normal card terms expressly prohibit redemption for cash or credit. Any new arrangement would need to be communicated by the issuer, successor or another party legally taking responsibility.
If the business enters liquidation or insolvency
Look for a formal public notice identifying the administrator, liquidator or claims process. Such a notice may set a deadline, proof requirements and a ranking for customer claims. A gift-card holder may need to submit evidence rather than wait for an automatic payment. The available terms do not establish what recovery percentage, timing or priority would apply.

No named Myntra administrator or claim deadline is established in the available information. Treat social-media posts or unofficial messages as unconfirmed until the issuer, a successor, a court-appointed representative or a government authority publishes the arrangement.
What happens to Myntra Credit and wallet balances?
“Myntra Credit” can describe value recorded in a user account, while an E-Gift Card is a voucher issued by Pine Labs. Those labels should not be treated as interchangeable. The published E-Gift Card terms explain the card’s one-year validity, platform-only use and source-card refund rule; they do not promise that every form of Myntra Credit can be withdrawn to a bank account.

Before seeking recovery, identify exactly what you hold:
- Unredeemed gift card: preserve the voucher number, PIN, issue information and expiry date.
- Value already loaded into a Myntra Wallet or account: save screenshots showing the balance and account identifier.
- Refund from a cancelled order: retain the cancellation confirmation and the original payment trail, because the terms direct gift-card value back to the source card.
If the account becomes inaccessible, ask the issuer or any successor how it maps the account balance to the original voucher. The terms do not establish a universal bank-transfer entitlement for account credit.

A service closure creates several possible outcomes: the order may be fulfilled during an orderly transition, cancelled and refunded, or handled through a wind-down process. The published gift-card terms do not guarantee delivery after closure, so a pending order should not be treated as proof that shipment will occur.
Order is fulfilled before access ends
Save the order ID, invoice, tracking information and seller messages now. If the transaction completes normally, the ordinary delivery, return and refund rules for that order remain the practical reference point.
Order is cancelled while Myntra systems still work
For the portion paid with an E-Gift Card, the terms direct the amount back to the source E-Gift Card. Any other payment portion should be tracked separately through its own payment channel. Record the cancellation timestamp and the voucher or wallet destination shown in the account.

Order is cancelled after the app or website becomes inaccessible
Keep proof of the original payment, order and cancellation. Contact the named issuer and the payment provider promptly, explain which part was paid by gift card or account credit, and request written instructions for recovery. If ordinary support is unavailable, use the applicable consumer-protection channels in India and attach the evidence rather than relying on a verbal account.
Expiry can remove value before any closure decision
Pine Labs’ E-Gift Card terms state a one-year validity period. Use the date shown on your voucher as the controlling date and do not assume that a shutdown warning, support delay or pending order extends it.
Separately distributed Myntra e-vouchers supplied under SBI Card terms carry an expiry date. Those terms say that any corresponding unused balance is forfeited after expiry unless QwikCilver and/or Myntra Designs Private Limited expressly agrees otherwise. They also state that orders placed with such e-vouchers may be cancelled at QwikCilver and/or Myntra Designs Private Limited’s discretion.
Because different voucher programmes can have different issuers and conditions, match your voucher to the terms supplied with it. A balance that has already expired may be harder to recover than a live balance, even if the marketplace later experiences an outage.
Why RBI rules do not guarantee a shutdown refund
The Reserve Bank of India describes prepaid payment instruments (PPIs) as instruments that enable purchases against stored value, and non-bank PPI issuers require RBI authorisation. The RBI Master Directions also define closed-system PPIs as instruments issued for purchasing goods or services from the issuing entity only.

Those rules provide a regulatory framework for issuers; they are not a Myntra-specific promise that a marketplace closure produces a bank payout. The outcome depends on the instrument’s legal structure, the issuer’s obligations, any successor arrangement and, if applicable, the administrator’s process. A customer should therefore distinguish between regulatory oversight and a contractual right to immediate cash.
How to protect your position before access disappears
- Save the voucher record. Download the gift-card email, PIN, issue date, expiry date and purchase receipt. Do not keep the only copy inside the Myntra app.
- Capture account balances. Take dated screenshots of Myntra Credit, Wallet balances, vouchers, account details and any error messages.
- Export order evidence. Record every pending order ID, seller name, item, amount, promised delivery date, payment split and return status.
- Preserve cancellation records. Save emails, notifications, chat transcripts and screenshots showing whether an order was cancelled and where the system says the refund will go.
- Match each amount to its source. Keep separate notes for gift-card value, wallet credit, card payment, bank transfer and promotional credit; recovery routes may differ.
- Keep support references. Store ticket numbers, dates, replies and the name of the issuer or payment provider contacted.
Do not send a voucher PIN to an unverified person claiming to arrange a refund. Use contact details from the original voucher, payment statement or an official notice.
Where to ask for recovery
The responsible party depends on the type of balance and the stage of the transaction.

When writing, ask a precise question: whether the balance is recognised, whether it can be transferred or refunded, what deadline applies, and which documents prove the claim. Request the answer in writing.
Common assumptions that can lead to a failed claim
“A gift card is the same as money in my bank.”
The cited terms say the opposite for the Myntra E-Gift Card: it is restricted to Myntra and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit. A cash recovery would require a separate issuer, successor or insolvency arrangement.

“A cancelled order always goes back to my bank.”
For an order paid with the E-Gift Card, the contractual destination is the source E-Gift Card. Preserve the voucher even after placing an order, because it may be needed to receive or prove that refund.
“RBI rules automatically reimburse every closed wallet.”
RBI’s PPI framework regulates the category and issuers; it does not itself announce a Myntra-specific payout formula or deadline.
“The expiry date no longer matters once a shutdown is discussed.”
The one-year card validity and the separate e-voucher forfeiture language still apply unless the responsible party expressly changes them.

Confirmation is not a published guarantee of fulfilment after a platform closure. Keep the order evidence and be prepared to submit a cancellation or creditor claim.
A practical decision path
- Check access: If you can still log in, download every voucher, balance and order record immediately.
- Check validity: Note whether the gift card or e-voucher remains within its stated expiry.
- Classify the value: Separate an unredeemed voucher, account credit and a cancelled-order refund.
- Check official status: Look for a notice from Myntra, Pine Labs, a successor, a court-appointed administrator or a consumer authority.
- Submit the right request: Ask for honouring, transfer, reissue or refund, and include evidence tied to the specific balance.
- Escalate with a complete file: If support stops responding, contact the payment provider and relevant Indian consumer-protection channel with your timeline and documents.
Until an issuer, successor, court or administrator publishes a commitment, describe the amount as a claim or balance under review—not as a guaranteed refund.
