When a Meta smart-glasses promotion expires, the discount or bonus offer normally ends; the glasses you already bought do not become unusable. Your pair remains subject to the ordinary setup and account requirements, while eligibility for the expired deal depends on the offer’s exact deadline, country, seller, model, stock limits, and exclusions.
What the promotion expiry date controls
A limited-time offer is a commercial rule about when and how you can obtain a price reduction, accessory, protection plan, prescription benefit, or other incentive. The end date determines whether a purchase or redemption qualifies. It is not, by itself, a device shutoff date.
Each offer has its own conditions. Before treating a headline such as “ends May 25” as universally applicable, check:

- Time zone: an offer can end at a stated local time, such as Pacific Time, rather than at midnight in your location.
- Eligible model or generation: a discount may cover one generation while excluding another Meta glasses model.
- Country and seller: availability can be limited to supported countries where Meta.com operates or to a particular Ray-Ban or optical retailer.
- Stock condition: “while supplies last” means the incentive can disappear before the calendar deadline.
- Exclusions and combinations: the offer may not stack with another code, sale, lens option, or eyewear promotion.
- What the benefit actually is: a lower purchase price, a separate service, a protection plan, or an accessory each has different terms.
Once the stated window closes, a seller is not generally required to accept a late redemption or extend the discount. The available terms do not establish a universal Meta policy for price matching, refunds of the difference, automatic extensions, or honoring an expired coupon. Those decisions are specific to the seller and offer.

Do Meta smart glasses stop working when the deal ends?
The cited promotion terms do not say that a pair already purchased will deactivate when its promotion expires. The product FAQ instead describes continuing setup requirements: a compatible smartphone, the Meta AI app, wireless internet access, and a valid Meta account.
In practical terms, the expiry date changes your commercial eligibility, not the ownership status of a pair you have already bought. You can continue setting up and using the glasses under the product’s normal requirements, subject to software, account, connectivity, and feature availability.
Do not confuse a promotion end with a separate product or service change. Ray-Ban’s terms state that “Features, functionality and content are subject to change or be withdrawn at any time.” That statement concerns product features and functionality; it does not state that promotional expiry disables the glasses.
How to compare two Meta-glasses offers correctly
Comparing only the advertised percentage can produce the wrong result. Put the full conditions next to each other:

A protection-plan promotion should not be treated as equivalent to a price discount. A plan can have its own enrollment window, coverage terms, and exclusions even when it is advertised alongside the glasses.
Example: the April–May 2026 Ray-Ban offer
One published example ran from April 10, 2026 through May 25, 2026, in Pacific Time. It applied to qualifying Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 purchases, was limited to supported countries where Meta.com operates, and was available while supplies lasted. The terms said no redemption code was required.
That example shows why the date alone is insufficient. A buyer also had to have the qualifying generation, be in an eligible country, and complete the purchase while stock remained. After May 25, the offer’s eligibility window ended under those terms. Nothing in the cited wording says that Gen 1 glasses bought during the window would stop operating afterward.
It is an example rather than a universal Meta-glasses rule. A later or different promotion can cover another generation, use a different time zone, require a code, or impose different exclusions.

Why a general Ray-Ban discount may exclude the glasses
Ray-Ban Canada’s terms illustrate another common trap: a promotion covering “eyewear” does not necessarily cover Meta models. Visible examples exclude Ray-Ban Meta models from some eyewear discounts, while a separate Eye Protection Plan offer is expressly tied to buying Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses.
Read the product-specific exclusions and eligibility language instead of inferring coverage from the campaign headline. If the benefit is an Eye Protection Plan or another service, verify whether enrollment is automatic, whether a separate registration is required, and when coverage begins. The cited terms do not establish that every market offers the same plan or that a plan remains available after the associated purchase promotion ends.
What to do before a promotion expires
- Open the complete terms. Record the eligible model or generation, seller, country, end date, time zone, stock condition, exclusions, and any redemption instructions.
- Confirm the exact product in your cart. Check the frame, lens configuration, generation, and any prescription option against the qualifying-product list.
- Check the final checkout total. Make sure the discount or included benefit appears before payment. A headline banner is not proof that your specific configuration qualifies.
- Save evidence. Keep the terms, checkout confirmation, order number, and any message showing the benefit. This is useful if the discount is missing from an invoice or a separate service requires proof of purchase.
- Check the seller’s return and adjustment rules. Ask whether a later price drop can be matched; do not presume that an expired promotion will be refunded automatically.
- Complete any separate enrollment. If the benefit is a protection plan or other service rather than an instant price reduction, follow its registration instructions before its own deadline.
If you bought during the promotion
Keep the purchase receipt and the terms that applied on the order date. If the advertised benefit is missing, contact the seller that took payment and provide the order details; Meta, Ray-Ban, and a third-party retailer can have different responsibilities.

If you missed the deadline by placing the order afterward, ask the seller whether it has a discretionary adjustment or a replacement offer. The published material does not promise a late redemption, automatic extension, or universal refund of the difference, so an answer for one retailer or market cannot be generalized.

Phone and operating system
The FAQ specifies a smartphone running Android 10 or later or iOS 14.4 or later. A phone outside those requirements can prevent pairing or app-based setup even though the promotional transaction itself was valid.
App, account, and connectivity
You need the Meta AI app, a valid Meta account, and wireless internet access. These are product-operation requirements, not conditions that disappear when a discount expires.

Charging hardware
The glasses are supplied with a charging case. The FAQ says a USB-C charging plug is needed when charging from a wall outlet, so check whether you already have a compatible plug. The case and plug requirement are separate from any promotional accessory promise; an offer that includes an extra item should state that explicitly.

Prescription styles and changing availability
Meta has announced prescription-optimized Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics styles, with sales channels identified as Meta.com, Ray-Ban.com, and optical retailers. A prescription configuration may therefore involve a different seller, fitting process, inventory position, and promotion than a standard configuration.
In a September 2026 announcement, Meta said additional Ray-Ban Meta styles could be preordered at a stated starting price, with shipping scheduled from October 13. Product selection, prices, and availability are volatile. Treat any current listing or preorder window as a snapshot and verify the live terms for your country and chosen seller.

- Identify the exact generation and configuration you want rather than relying on a generic “Meta glasses” label.
- Compare the current seller price with the expired offer’s actual benefit, including whether it was a plan or accessory instead of a discount.
- Confirm phone, operating-system, app, account, internet, and charging requirements before ordering.
- Check country availability and whether prescription fitting must be handled by an optical retailer.
- Read the current return, price-adjustment, warranty, and service terms from the seller that will fulfill the order.
- Verify shipping dates for preorders; an announced date is not the same as immediate availability.
The safest interpretation is straightforward: promotion expiry closes the deal, not the device. Your next step is to read the exact offer terms and then use the glasses under their ordinary product requirements.
