Hytale’s published policy separates account purchases from in-game progress. You are expected to keep game access and the cosmetics included with your Early Access edition after those editions leave sale and after Early Access ends. That is not a promise that every save, inventory item, block, or progression record will transfer unchanged into the 1.0 experience.
Hytale says existing V1 worlds will remain playable, but V1 will eventually stop generating new chunks, and some items and blocks will not move between V1 and V2 worlds. V2 is the world generator being developed for 1.0. The company has not published a blanket guarantee covering every category of gameplay progress.
What Hytale has explicitly promised to preserve
Game access and edition cosmetics stay on your account
Hytale Executive Director Patrick “Lyall” Derbic wrote in the December 3, 2025 FAQ that players will “keep access to the game and these cosmetics, even after the editions are not available anymore.” The live store page checked on October 13, 2026 repeats that edition unlocks remain on the account after Early Access.
This covers the entitlements attached to the edition you purchased: access to the game and the listed edition cosmetics. It does not automatically cover every item you obtain while playing, every world file, or every future progression system. Those are separate categories with different compatibility rules.

Leaving Early Access does not revoke a paid edition
The Early Access editions and their contents are described as being available only during Early Access. “Available only during Early Access” refers to when new customers can buy them; it does not mean an existing purchase expires at 1.0. If you bought an eligible edition while it was offered, its stated access and cosmetic entitlements are intended to remain associated with your account.
Will your Hytale world be deleted or wiped?
V1 worlds are intended to remain playable
Hytale’s July 2026 “Community Spotlight: WorldGen V2” article gives unusually direct wording: “Your world is forever. The V1 world you’re in right now is not getting deleted, reset, or left behind.” On that published statement, reaching 1.0 is not described as an automatic deletion or reset of current V1 worlds.

The same announcement says V1 will eventually stop generating new chunks. A world can therefore remain available while its unexplored frontier no longer expands under the old generator. After Early Access, players will also no longer be able to create new V1 worlds.
V2 is the planned 1.0 generator
V2 is being developed for 1.0 and is the generator Hytale intends to support going forward. The change is described as a staged handover rather than one moment when every existing world is converted. That means you should think of V1 preservation and V2 adoption as two related but separate decisions: keep using an existing V1 world where it remains suitable, and use V2 for the generation model intended for the full release.

Will all progress carry over to 1.0?
No universal transfer guarantee has been published. “Progress” can mean account entitlements, a world file, an inventory, a quest or chapter unlock, or a cosmetic earned through play. Hytale’s statements address those categories differently.
Items and blocks have a stated V1-to-V2 limitation
The WorldGen V2 announcement explicitly warns that some blocks and items will not move between V1 and V2 worlds. Hytale says it will communicate which ones. Until that list and the associated procedures are published, do not assume that an inventory, storage chest, build palette, or transport run can be moved intact from a V1 world into a V2 world.

This is narrower than saying that every item will be lost. The published wording establishes a compatibility limit, not a complete item-by-item migration table. The safe interpretation is to keep valuable V1 resources in the V1 world unless Hytale later identifies them as transferable or provides a supported conversion method.
Gameplay-earned cosmetics are different from edition unlocks
Chapter I added more than 100 cosmetic options, and the announcement says some are unlocked through chapter gameplay. Those unlocks are earned through play rather than granted solely because an account owns a particular edition. The available statements do not provide a single 1.0 migration rule for every gameplay-earned unlock, so treat them separately from the edition cosmetics that Hytale expressly says remain on the account.

Save files, inventories and progression records remain unspecified
The reviewed official statements do not give a blanket promise that every save, inventory, quest state, character statistic, or other progression record will transfer unchanged at 1.0. They also do not announce a blanket wipe. The accurate position is therefore conditional: account entitlements have a retention statement, V1 worlds have a preservation statement, and several classes of gameplay data still need explicit migration guidance.
How the V1-to-V2 transition affects practical play
Existing V1 world
- It is not scheduled to be deleted, reset, or abandoned when 1.0 arrives.
- It remains playable under the limits Hytale describes for V1.
- It will eventually stop generating new chunks.
- You will not be able to create a new V1 world after Early Access.
New V2 world
- V2 is the generator being prepared for 1.0 and future support.
- Some V1 blocks and items will not move into V2 worlds.
- The exact list of incompatible content and any approved transfer process must come from Hytale’s later communications.
What this means for builders and explorers
If a long-running V1 build matters to you, keep its original world and make regular backups using whatever supported file-management method the game provides. Do not treat a V2 world as a guaranteed successor copy. A V2 world may be the better place for new exploration once it is available, but its generator and content rules are not the same as V1’s.

Moving a few low-value test items first is safer than dismantling an entire base or emptying every storage container on the assumption that all content will transfer.
What happens to Early Access purchases and upgrades?
Existing purchases
The December 2025 FAQ and the current store both describe purchased game access and listed edition cosmetics as retained after Early Access. The store currently presents Standard, Supporter and Cursebreaker editions. Their exact contents and prices are changeable purchase details, so verify the live store page and your account checkout before paying.

Upgrading later
The FAQ says a player can upgrade an edition later and pay only the difference between the editions, with one stated exception: an account that already owns Cursebreaker cannot upgrade further. Because edition availability, contents and account eligibility can change, the only reliable check for a particular account is the upgrade flow shown after signing in.
Cursebreaker chapter gift copies
The Chapter I announcement says Cursebreaker owners receive one extra Standard Edition gift copy for each released Early Access chapter. The announcement uses six chapters as a hypothetical example; it is not a forecast that six chapters will necessarily be released before 1.0. This is a digital entitlement, not a physical product, and the number of copies depends on the chapters actually released under the stated offer.

Edition cosmetics
Cosmetics bundled with an Early Access edition are the clearest retention case: Hytale says they stay on the account even after the editions stop being sold. Keep your account credentials secure, because these entitlements are account-based rather than transferable physical goods.
Cosmetics earned through play
Chapter I documents more than 100 additional cosmetic options, including sets such as Scrap Arcanist and Junk Pilot, with some unlocked through chapter gameplay. An earned unlock should not be assumed to have the same technical treatment as a store-edition entitlement until Hytale specifies how that progression is represented at 1.0.

Pay-to-win policy statement
In the December 2025 FAQ, Derbic stated: “One thing is for sure: when it comes to monetization, we will never add P2W options.” The same FAQ said official cosmetics would remain fair and balanced, free cosmetics would continue to be added, and official avatar cosmetics were reserved for Hytale at that time. These are company policy statements from that FAQ, not a complete 1.0 monetization schedule.
What you should do before 1.0
- Separate account entitlements from world progress. Keep a record of the edition on your account and the cosmetics it includes. Those are the items Hytale expressly describes as persistent.
- Back up important V1 worlds. Hytale says V1 worlds remain playable, but a backup protects your own copy from local file corruption or account-management mistakes.
- Do not dismantle a V1 base for an assumed transfer. Some blocks and items will not move between V1 and V2. Wait for Hytale’s item-specific guidance before treating V2 as a replacement container.
- Track gameplay-earned unlocks separately. Note chapter cosmetics and other rewards earned through play rather than assuming they are included in the edition-entitlement promise.
- Check the live account and store pages before purchasing or upgrading. Confirm current edition contents, prices, upgrade eligibility and any chapter-related gift entitlement at the time of checkout.
- Follow the final migration instructions. The WorldGen V2 article establishes the direction of travel, but the detailed 1.0 procedures and compatibility list are still the authority for a particular world or item.
When will Hytale reach 1.0?
The February 17, 2026 Update 3 announcement describes the final chapter as putting Orbis within reach and says the game will enter full release. The October 12, 2026 Chapter I announcement continues the chapter-based roadmap. Those posts do not provide a specific 1.0 launch date, so no date should be inferred from the chapter language alone.
Because the store, chapter plans and transfer rules can change, recheck Hytale’s official FAQ, store information and WorldGen V2 communications close to any purchase or migration decision. The current evidence supports retained purchases and playable V1 worlds, not an all-progress guarantee.
