GTA+ is worth paying for only if you regularly play GTA Online on an eligible current-generation platform and will use several benefits during the month. It is a recurring membership, not a one-time purchase. Rockstar combines a recurring GTA$500,000 deposit with persistent conveniences, member discounts, a rotating set of vehicles and cosmetics, and a games library whose contents change.
The reviewed PC listing showed $7.99 per month through the Rockstar Games Launcher, but price and availability are tied to the country and storefront where you subscribe. Check your own platform before paying. Occasional players, users on unsupported versions, and anyone subscribing for one expiring reward are less likely to get enough practical value.
What GTA+ is and who can use it
GTA+ is Rockstar’s optional monthly subscription for GTA Online. Membership uses automatic recurring billing at the start of each monthly billing period, and the subscription is tied to the platform on which it was purchased. The current eligibility description covers:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC players using GTAV Enhanced
Do not assume that a GTA+ purchase carries over to another platform. Rockstar’s terms say subscriptions are limited to a specific platform, so a membership bought for one storefront or console family should not be treated as a universal entitlement. The available evidence does not establish GTA+ support for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC Legacy.

On consoles, GTA+ does not necessarily replace the platform’s separate paid online-play requirement. You may need the applicable PlayStation or Xbox online subscription to access GTA Online multiplayer, even when GTA+ itself is active.
What the membership includes
The package has two different kinds of value: benefits that are intended to remain available while you are subscribed, and rotating claims or library titles that can change during an event period. The following distinction matters because a reward shown in an advertisement may expire before you join.

The GTA$500,000 renewal deposit
Rockstar says GTA+ members receive GTA$500,000 each billing cycle. The money is deposited automatically into the member’s Maze Bank account when the subscription renews. That timing is easy to misunderstand: the renewal date controls the deposit, rather than the first day of a weekly or seasonal event.
GTA$ is usable only inside the game. It is not cash, and Rockstar does not publish a fixed real-money exchange rate that can be used to calculate a guaranteed return on the subscription fee. Treat the deposit as recurring in-game spending power, not as a discount that can be converted directly into dollars.

Member-only Shark Cards
GTA+ includes access to selected Shark Cards that provide 15% extra GTA$ for members. The percentage describes the bonus currency attached to an eligible purchase; it does not mean Rockstar refunds 15% of the card price. Whether this matters depends on whether you already buy Shark Cards. A player who never buys them should assign this feature little or no value.
Vinewood Club features
The Vinewood Club package includes a 100-vehicle garage, a workshop, an in-game phone application, and access to vehicles and member services. The 100-vehicle capacity is a feature specification, not a statement that every vehicle is free. Check the current member interface for which vehicles, services, or purchase discounts are included during your billing period.
Convenience services and discounts
Rockstar’s membership material also describes free CEO and VIP abilities, free taxi rides with shorter cooldowns, and visibility of the Gun Van together with discounts connected to it. These perks reduce friction rather than adding a fixed amount of GTA$. They are more valuable to players who frequently run executive or VIP activities, use taxis to move around Los Santos, or regularly buy from the Gun Van.
The rotating GTA+ Games Library
Games in the GTA+ Library are available only while they are included in the catalog and while your membership remains active. Library availability is platform-specific. A game can therefore disappear from the catalog even before you cancel, and a game you downloaded does not become a permanent purchase. When the subscription terminates, access to included library games terminates as well.

Rotating vehicles, clothing, properties, and event bonuses
Monthly or event-based benefits may include a vehicle to claim, clothing and cosmetics, properties, discounts, and multipliers for selected missions or activities. Claiming a reward is not the same as merely seeing it listed: you must complete the required claim or purchase action during the stated window.
For example, Rockstar’s benefits information listed the Pegassi Horus and Bigness clothing as claimable through October 7, 2026. Those dates describe a completed event window and should not be presented as a current offer. An October 1, 2026 Newswire item described an October 8 claim period for a Pegassi Oppressor motorcycle, but that announcement alone does not establish that the offer is still live on October 15. Check the live benefits page in your region before subscribing for a particular reward.
How billing and renewal work
The subscription bills monthly and renews automatically until you cancel it. The PC Rockstar Store listing reviewed for this article displayed $7.99 per month through the Rockstar Games Launcher. That is a storefront-specific observation, not a worldwide price promise. Taxes, currency conversion, country availability, and console-store pricing can change the amount you see.
Before confirming payment, check all of the following in the storefront attached to your account:

- The monthly price in your local currency
- The platform and game version attached to the purchase
- The next renewal date
- Whether tax is included or added at checkout
- Which current benefits and library titles are available in your region
Because the subscription is platform-specific, buying GTA+ on PC does not establish access on PlayStation or Xbox, and a console purchase should not be assumed to work on PC.
What happens if you cancel GTA+
Rockstar says membership can be canceled at any time. Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal; it does not normally remove the benefits immediately. Access continues through the end of the current paid billing period, then ongoing membership benefits and GTA+ Games Library access end when the subscription terminates.
Use the subscription-management page of the same storefront through which you paid. Sign in to the account that owns the GTA+ subscription, open its recurring-subscriptions or services section, select GTA+, and confirm cancellation. Store labels differ by country and platform, so use the confirmation screen to verify that automatic renewal is off and note the displayed end date. If you subscribed through a console store, cancel there rather than assuming that changing a Rockstar account setting will cancel the console transaction.

Is GTA+ worth paying for?
There is no official break-even calculation and no independent statistic establishing a universal value for every player. The sensible test is personal usage: compare the local monthly fee with benefits you will actually use during that billing month, not the notional value of every item Rockstar advertises.
A practical value test
- Confirm eligibility. Make sure you play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC with GTAV Enhanced, and check that the storefront offers GTA+ in your country.
- Record the real price. Use the checkout amount in your own store rather than relying on the $7.99 PC listing.
- Estimate play time. Ask how many sessions you expect during the paid month. A membership used twice has a different value from one used several nights each week.
- Count recurring benefits you care about. Include the GTA$500,000 deposit, Vinewood Club storage and services, free CEO/VIP abilities, taxi convenience, Gun Van access, relevant discounts, and any Shark Card bonus you would otherwise use.
- Evaluate rotating rewards realistically. Add a vehicle, property, cosmetic, multiplier, or library game only when you want it and can claim or play it before its deadline.
- Account for cancellation. Remember that library games and ongoing benefits stop at the end of the paid period after cancellation.

When a one-month subscription makes sense
A single month can be rational when a rotating vehicle, property, event multiplier, or library title is available and you can use it immediately. Set a calendar reminder for the renewal date, claim the benefits you want, and cancel through the purchasing storefront before the next charge. This approach avoids paying indefinitely for a service you no longer use, but it does not preserve library access after the paid period ends.
When skipping GTA+ is the better choice
Skipping is sensible when you play rarely, do not use the member services, have no interest in the current rotating offers, or are on a version that is not listed as eligible. The GTA$500,000 deposit may sound substantial, but it has no fixed cash equivalent and does not by itself prove that the subscription pays for itself.

- Using the wrong platform. A subscription is tied to its purchasing platform; confirm the platform before checkout.
- Assuming every advertised reward is permanent. Vehicles, clothing, properties, multipliers, and library games can rotate or expire.
- Confusing renewal with event timing. The GTA$500,000 deposit follows your billing renewal date.
- Counting unused perks as savings. A discount or free service has no practical value if you would not have used it.
- Expecting cancellation to preserve library access. Included games require both an active membership and continued inclusion in the library.
- Comparing GTA$ directly with dollars. The in-game currency is not a cash payout and has no official fixed conversion for a break-even calculation.
Bottom line
GTA+ is a convenience-and-rewards subscription rather than a mandatory part of GTA Online. Regular players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC GTAV Enhanced can plausibly get good practical value from the recurring GTA$500,000, Vinewood Club features, services, discounts, and rotating claims. For infrequent players or anyone outside the supported platform and version list, the monthly charge is harder to justify. Check your local price and the live benefits page, then subscribe only when the benefits you will actually use outweigh that charge.
