Short answer: Zenzap AI can search the chats and workspace content you authorize. That may include ordinary messages, voice-message transcriptions, shared files, office documents, text found in images, photos, videos, to-dos, polls, contacts and conversations filtered by topic, person or date. If you connect Google Workspace, access can extend—within the permissions you grant—to Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Meet information and selected Google Drive files.
Zenzap says connected Google data is used to provide requested features, not advertising or generalized AI-model training. The service is not end-to-end encrypted; its protection model relies on company-controlled encryption, permissions, audit trails, administrative controls and the ability to revoke access.
What Zenzap AI can see inside your workspace
The practical question is not whether Zenzap can “read everything,” but which content has been placed in a workspace, which features you enabled and which permissions an administrator or connector granted. AI Search works over content available to your account and can return a cited message or file so you can inspect the source.

| Content type | What Zenzap says its AI Search can retrieve | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Chats and voice messages | Messages plus searchable transcriptions of voice messages | A decision discussed in a chat or an instruction spoken in a voice note |
| Documents and shared files | Files shared in the workspace and text inside PDF, Word and Excel documents | A figure in a spreadsheet or a clause in a PDF |
| Images, photos and video | Text recognized in images and information inferred from what photos or videos show | Invoice numbers, receipts, screenshots or the subject of a recorded clip |
| Workspace objects | To-dos, polls, contact details and GIFs | An assigned task, poll result or a colleague’s contact entry |
| Filtered conversations | Chats can be searched by topic, person or time period | All conversations about a project during a specified month |
Search is available in the iOS and Android apps, Windows and macOS clients, and the web app. An answer is not a new, independent record of truth: open the cited message or file to verify context, permissions and the date of the underlying information.

What changes when Google Workspace is connected
A Google connection adds a separate permission boundary. Zenzap’s privacy policy describes access to data made available through Google Workspace APIs; the actual scope depends on the permissions selected during setup and the features your organization configures.
| Google service | Data the policy says may be available | Typical Zenzap function |
|---|---|---|
| Account profile | Profile information needed to identify the connected user | Resolving the account and associating results with the right person |
| Gmail | Permission-scoped messages, threads, drafts and labels | Finding or summarizing work email, organizing messages, and preparing email drafts |
| Calendar | Calendar events | Displaying and managing events and helping with scheduling |
| Contacts and directory | Contacts and directory information | Resolving recipients, attendees and colleague identities |
| Google Meet | Conference information | Creating Meet links or associating meeting details with work |
| Google Drive | Files created for Zenzap or specifically selected for it | Processing files you deliberately make available to a requested feature |
This is not evidence that Zenzap receives an unrestricted copy of an entire Google account. A connector can expose different scopes, and an administrator may disable features or limit which files are selected. Check the consent screen and your organization’s configuration rather than assuming that every service listed above is enabled.
What Zenzap says it does with connected Google data
The policy describes Google Workspace data as feature input for actions requested by a user or administrator. Listed uses include:
- Finding and summarizing work messages and email threads.
- Extracting decisions and action items.
- Generating alerts that have been configured by the user or organization.
- Drafting and sending email when the user has approved the action.
- Organizing messages.
- Displaying and managing calendar events.
- Resolving contacts and event attendees.
- Creating Google Meet links.
- Processing files that have been selected for the relevant feature.
Zenzap says this Google Workspace API data is not used for advertising, retargeting, profiling, credit decisions, sale to data brokers, unrelated databases or generalized AI-model training. Contracted cloud and AI providers may handle the data only as needed to deliver the requested function and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes or generalized-model training.

That statement is specific to Google Workspace API data. It does not, by itself, establish a universal promise about every category of chat or workspace content under every product setting. If your procurement question is “Will any of our ordinary Zenzap chats be used to improve a model?”, ask Zenzap for the current contractual and product-specific answer, including any opt-out or retention settings.
How AI agents differ from AI Search
AI Search retrieves information in response to a query. An agent can also work inside a chat and use tools to take an action. Zenzap says an agent has access to the context of the chats it has been added to, including conversations, files, images and voice notes. It does not automatically gain access to every chat in the organization merely because it exists.
Product and enterprise materials describe several controls:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Administrators can view agents and their connected tools across the organization.
- An audit trail records agent activity.
- An agent can be removed with one click.
- For each tool, an enterprise administrator can require approval before action, restrict the tool to read-only use or block the action entirely.
Use the narrowest chat membership and tool permissions that fit the job. A read-only agent in a project chat has a materially smaller potential impact than an agent allowed to send messages or modify records without approval.

Where Zenzap processing takes place
Zenzap’s third-party processor list, last updated July 14, 2026, names two relevant providers:
| Provider | Role identified by Zenzap | Processing location stated |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL | Data storage and processing | United States or European Union, according to the account’s selected data-storage region |
| Anthropic PBC | AI-based features | United States or European Union, according to the account’s selected data-storage region |
The privacy policy also says personal data may be stored in the EU or US and transferred to service providers in other countries with safeguards. A data-region selector therefore matters: confirm which region your account uses, what contractual transfer mechanism applies to your organization and whether every enabled feature follows that same regional setting.
Is Zenzap end-to-end encrypted?
No. Zenzap’s resource hub explicitly says the service is not end-to-end encrypted, “intentionally.” In an end-to-end encrypted system, the provider cannot ordinarily decrypt message content while it travels between authorized endpoints. Zenzap instead describes company-level encryption and controls that keep data under company administration.
The security materials list access revocation, export requests and file-download permissions. Its secure-chat page also advertises GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, CCPA and ISO 27001 compliance claims, plus audit trails, data-loss prevention and access controls.

Those labels are vendor statements, not a substitute for evidence of scope. A regulated buyer should request the applicable audit report or certificate, the covered services and dates, the relevant control exceptions, and confirmation that the AI features and data region your organization will use are within scope. Encryption in transit and at rest can reduce exposure, but it does not prevent an authorized service process from reading data to answer a search or perform an approved action.
How to disconnect Google and revoke access
Revocation has two separate paths: remove the Google authorization and, if necessary, ask Zenzap to delete retained data.
- Disconnect in Zenzap. Use the account or integration settings to disconnect Google Workspace, if that control is available to your role.
- Revoke at Google. Open your Google Account’s third-party access or app-permissions page, select Zenzap and remove its access. This prevents further API access granted through that authorization.
- Remove organization-side access. Ask a Zenzap administrator to disable the user, remove the user from relevant chats or agents, and revoke connected tools. Zenzap says an administrator can instantly revoke an employee’s access while the messages and files remain in the company workspace.
- Request deletion where required. Send a deletion request to privacy@zenzap.co. The policy says retained Google data is deleted according to its documented schedule after revocation or a deletion request, except where legal retention obligations apply.
- Request an export if you need a record. Zenzap’s resource hub says data exports can be requested. Make the export request before deleting content if your legal, audit or continuity process requires a copy.
Revoking a connector stops the authorization; it may not instantly erase historical copies already retained under the service’s schedule. Ask what was retained, when deletion will occur and whether backups or legal holds delay final removal.

- Connector scope: Review the exact Google permissions and whether Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Meet or Drive access is necessary for the intended workflow.
- Workspace boundaries: Decide which chats, files and groups may be searchable and who can invite an agent.
- Action controls: Set sensitive tools to approval-required or read-only; block sending, editing or deletion actions that the business case does not need.
- Auditability: Confirm where agent and administrative audit trails are viewed, how long they are retained and who can export them.
- File handling: Review download permissions and data-loss-prevention rules for documents returned by AI answers.
- Region and processors: Record the selected EU or US data region and the current processor list, including any change-notification process.
- Deletion and offboarding: Document the Google revocation path, Zenzap deletion contact, export procedure and legal-retention exceptions.
- Assurance evidence: Obtain current compliance evidence rather than relying only on a marketing badge, especially for health, financial or regulated data.
How to compare Zenzap with another work-chat AI
Feature checklists can hide the privacy differences that matter most. Compare products on the same questions:
Best Value
- Securely Remember All Your Passwords, Log-in's, User Names, ATM PIN Numbers and More
- Large Back-lit LCD Screen, QWERTY Keyboard - So Easy to Use
- Enter one PIN number and have access to 400 accounts. Search function included.

| Comparison axis | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Content scope | Which chat objects, attachments, images, recordings and external connectors can be searched? |
| Permission model | Are permissions inherited from the source system, selected file by file, or granted broadly at the workspace level? |
| Training and advertising | Is customer data excluded from generalized model training and advertising, and does that promise cover non-Google chat data? |
| Processors and regions | Are cloud and AI providers named, and can the customer choose an EU or US processing region? |
| Encryption | Is end-to-end encryption available, and what can provider-side services decrypt? |
| Administration | Can admins inspect agents, require approval, enforce read-only tools, block actions and review audit logs? |
| Lifecycle controls | How do revocation, deletion, exports, backups and legal holds work, and what timetable applies? |
The most important distinction is between “can search” and “can act.” An assistant that can summarize a selected chat has a different risk profile from an agent that can send mail, change a calendar or modify a shared record. Match the permission level to the consequence of an incorrect or unauthorized action.
Bottom line for users and buyers
Zenzap can expose a broad set of information that has been placed in authorized chats and workspace sources, not just plain text. A Google connection can add permission-scoped Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Meet and selected Drive data. Zenzap says requested-feature processing—not advertising or generalized training—is the purpose for Google API data, while its named processors are Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL and Anthropic PBC in the account’s selected US or EU region.
The service is not end-to-end encrypted. Treat permissions, agent membership, approval gates, audit trails, region selection and revocation procedures as the primary safeguards. Before a sensitive deployment, verify the exact connector scopes, obtain current compliance evidence and document how your organization will export, delete and offboard data.
