Stencil Parts are the material ARC Raiders requires when you apply a Weapon Stencil to a compatible weapon. Weapon Stencils change a weapon’s appearance only; they do not improve damage, handling, durability or any other combat statistic. Embark says Stencil Parts can be found Topside, but has not published an application cost, drop rate, named container or guaranteed farming location.
What Stencil Parts do
A Stencil Part is an in-game customization material. Its specific job is to pay the material requirement for applying a learned Weapon Stencil to a compatible weapon. The stencil is the cosmetic pattern; the part is the resource needed to put that pattern on the weapon.
That distinction matters because owning a Weapon Stencil does not, by itself, mean every weapon can display it for free. The stencil must be available to your account, the selected weapon must support it, and the application must meet the Stencil Part requirement shown by the game.

Embark introduced the system in the Frozen Trail 2.0 Update, dated October 8, 2026. Its description is explicit: “Applying Stencils requires Stencil Parts, which can be found Topside.” The same update presents stencils as personalization, not equipment upgrades.

How Weapon Stencils work
A stencil is learned before it is applied
The game separates obtaining or learning a stencil from applying it. Once a Weapon Stencil is learned, it can be selected for weapons that support it. Stencil Parts are involved at the application stage, so collecting a stencil and collecting parts are separate goals.
The available interface wording can change with patches, but the logical sequence is consistent: select a compatible weapon, open its appearance or customization options, choose a learned stencil, and review the material requirement before confirming. If the requirement is not met, the game should prevent the application rather than silently improving the weapon by another means.
The effect is cosmetic
A stencil changes the weapon’s visual pattern. It is not a modification that raises statistics or grants a gameplay perk. Do not spend parts expecting higher damage, faster reloads, better accuracy or increased protection. Their value is personalization and collection.

A decorated weapon can still be lost
Embark specifically warns that a weapon carrying a stencil can be looted by another Raider if you are downed. Applying a stencil therefore does not create a permanent, indestructible copy attached to every future version of that weapon. Treat a decorated weapon as lootable gear during a raid, just as you would an undecorated weapon.

Where to find Stencil Parts
Official guidance: look Topside
The only acquisition direction provided in Embark’s update is Topside. That is an official source statement, not a published route or drop table. It tells you the broad part of the game in which to search, but it does not identify a particular map sector, building, container, enemy or event.
Because no official location list has been released, the safest approach is to pick up and inspect ordinary loot while operating Topside rather than skipping containers in pursuit of an unverified “best” spot. Keep the item whenever you find it; there is no confirmed reason to reserve it for a different crafting system.

Do not treat an individual player’s lucky find as proof of an exclusive spawn point. The ARC Raiders Community Wiki entry for Stencil Parts, last modified October 9, 2026, reports that cost and specific drop details had not been published. Those details may be clarified by a later patch, so check current patch notes if the game changes.
How to apply a Weapon Stencil

- Obtain or learn a Weapon Stencil. A stencil must be available to your account before it can be selected.
- Choose a weapon that supports the stencil. Compatibility is required; a learned stencil is not automatically available on every weapon.
- Open the weapon’s appearance or customization view. Look for the section that lists cosmetic patterns or stencils rather than combat attachments.
- Select the learned stencil. The preview should show the visual pattern on the chosen weapon.
- Check the Stencil Part requirement. The game should show whether you have enough material and the amount needed for that application. The developers have not published a universal number, so rely on the value displayed in your build.
- Confirm the application only when the preview and cost are correct. Remember that the resulting weapon can still be looted if you are downed.
If the stencil is visible but cannot be selected, first verify compatibility and that it has been learned. If the confirmation control is unavailable, check your Stencil Part inventory. Neither symptom proves that the stencil is permanently unusable.
How many Weapon Stencils exist?
Frozen Trail 2.0 launched with 14 Weapon Stencils. This is a count of stencil designs, not a count of Stencil Parts and not a statement that every design has the same material cost.

The categories above describe how the stencil designs are obtained. They do not change the known guidance for Stencil Parts: the parts are found Topside and are required when applying a stencil. A Premium Pass stencil and a Topside-found stencil should not be assumed to have different part costs unless the game displays that difference.

The ARC Raiders Wiki classifies Stencil Parts as an Epic item and lists scavenging as a source. It also lists no crafting recipe and says the item cannot be recycled or salvaged. These are useful inventory clues, but they come from a community-maintained item entry rather than an official mechanic table.

In practical terms, avoid discarding the material merely because you have not yet selected a stencil. The absence of a recycling or salvage option means it is not a general-purpose component that can be converted into another resource through those systems, according to that community listing.

Keep a simple inventory rule
When you encounter a Stencil Part Topside, keep it unless your current build explicitly provides a new use or disposal option. The official material requirement gives it a direct future use, while no alternate recipe has been established.
Do not change combat decisions for a cosmetic item
Because stencils do not improve weapon performance and a decorated weapon can be looted after a down, do not take an unsafe route solely to protect or acquire a cosmetic application. Extracting with valuable combat equipment and surviving the raid remain separate decisions from collecting customization materials.
Read the application screen instead of guessing
If you are unsure whether you have enough parts, open the stencil application view and use the displayed requirement. There is no authoritative published number to memorize, and community estimates should not override the in-game value.

Common misunderstandings
“Stencil Parts are a weapon upgrade material.”
No. They pay for a visual stencil application. The update describes stencils as personalization, not a performance system.
“Finding one part unlocks every stencil.”
No. Parts and stencil ownership are separate. A part helps meet the application requirement; it does not replace obtaining or learning the stencil design.
“Topside means one confirmed building or container.”
No such specific location is established in the cited material. Topside is the broad official acquisition guidance.
“A stenciled weapon is permanently safe in my collection.”
No. Embark’s warning about looting after a down applies to a weapon carrying a stencil.
“The 14-stencil launch count tells me how many parts I need.”
No. Fourteen is the number of launch designs. It does not provide an application cost, drop rate or average time to collect parts.
What could change in a later patch
The system is new, and the cited official update does not include a drop table or cost schedule. A future patch could add named sources, publish costs, alter compatibility, or introduce a recipe. When that happens, prefer the current in-game requirement and Embark’s patch notes over older community tables.
For the version described by the October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail 2.0 notes, the reliable answer is deliberately narrow: search Topside for Stencil Parts, use them when applying a learned Weapon Stencil to a compatible weapon, and expect a cosmetic result rather than a combat advantage.
