A Legendary Core is a rare, single-use Warframe item that immediately raises one eligible mod to maximum rank. The upgrade consumes the Core but costs no Endo and no Credits, making it most valuable on expensive Primed, Umbral, or other high-rank mods.
What a Legendary Core does
When you apply a Legendary Core to an eligible mod, the mod reaches its maximum rank instantly. The normal Endo and Credit bill is completely bypassed. The Core is then consumed, so one Core upgrades one mod only.
It is not a general account-wide booster, a reusable item, or a way to increase a mod beyond its defined maximum rank. Before confirming the upgrade, check that the selected mod is eligible and that you are comfortable spending a permanently consumable item.

How much value does one Core provide?
The saving depends on the mod’s normal max-rank cost. A 2024 Prima Games guide calculated the following approximate totals; actual costs can change if Digital Extremes changes mod economics.
#1 Best Overall
- Articulated 10-inch scale deluxe figure
- Figure includes alternate helmet less head and features a detailed cloth cape
- Figure comes with a 9-inch Relic axel and jolder's hammer machine gun
- Figure is featured in Destiny themed window box packaging
| Mod being maxed | Approximate Endo avoided | Approximate Credits avoided | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rank 0 Primed or Umbral mod | About 40,000 | About 1,700,000 | Prima Games guide calculation, 2024 |
| Rank 0 standard Rank 10 mod | About 30,000 | About 1,400,000 | Prima Games guide calculation, 2024 |
These figures are planning estimates, not a guaranteed in-game payout. If a mod is already partially ranked, the avoided bill is lower because you only skip the remaining ranks.
How to get a Legendary Core
Sortie and Archon Hunt rewards
Prima Games reports Legendary Cores in the reward pools for Sorties and Archon Hunts and cites a reported 0.18% chance. Treat that percentage as a secondary-source, version-sensitive figure rather than a permanently verified official drop-table rate. Reward tables can change with updates, so check the current in-game rotation and the latest official Warframe documentation before relying on the number.

Legendary Rank progression
The same guide reports one Legendary Core for each Mastery Rank test from Legendary Rank 30 onward. This is a progression-based source rather than a routine mission drop. Because progression rewards are subject to game-version rules, confirm the requirement in the current Mastery Rank interface before planning around it.

How to use a Legendary Core
- Open your Arsenal or Mod station and select the mod you want to improve.
- Choose the mod’s rank-up option and select the Legendary Core as the upgrade resource when it is offered.
- Review the destination rank and confirm that the Core, rather than Endo, will be consumed.
- Confirm the upgrade. The mod reaches maximum rank immediately, with no Endo or Credits charged.
The safest target is usually a costly mod that you expect to keep using across several builds. A Core generally produces the largest resource saving when applied from rank 0 to maximum rank on a Primed or Umbral mod.
Should you use the Core or trade it?
There is no universal best choice. Compare the resource bill you would avoid with the value you place on obtaining Platinum now.
Rank #4
- Incredibly detailed 7” scale figure based on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Eredin is featured in his black steel armor and helm
- Designed with Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for full range of posing and play
- Includes Eredin’s sword and base
- Figure is showcased in Witcher-themed window box packaging
Use it when
- You need a high-cost Primed, Umbral, or other max-rank mod for current builds.
- Endo or Credits are limiting your progression.
- You intend to keep the mod permanently and would otherwise pay most of its full upgrade cost.
Trade it when
- You already have ample Endo and Credits or do not need an expensive mod maxed yet.
- Immediate Platinum would unlock equipment or trading goals that matter more to you.
- You have checked current player offers and are satisfied with the specific in-game exchange.
Do not use an old market estimate as a guaranteed price. Legendary Core values change with supply, demand, reward-table changes, and the wider player economy. If you trade, compare several current offers and keep the transaction inside Warframe’s supported systems.
Trading requirements and safe procedure
Requirements
- Mastery Rank 2 or higher.
- TennoGuard two-factor authentication enabled on the account.
- Access to a Clan Dojo Trading Post or to Maroo’s Bazaar.
- Enough Credits to pay the applicable trade tax.
Where and how to trade
- Enter a Clan Dojo and use a Trading Post, or visit Maroo’s Bazaar.
- Invite or select the other player and place the Legendary Core and the agreed in-game items or currency into the trade window.
- Check every item, quantity, and Credit tax shown on screen.
- Both players confirm the transaction. Do not accept if the final window differs from the agreement.
Official guidance warns against exchanging Warframe items for cash or non-Warframe goods. Keep the deal within the game’s item-and-currency trading system; third-party cash sales are not legitimate in-game trades and add scam and account-risk concerns.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Spending it on a cheap mod: compare the normal max-rank Endo and Credit cost first.
- Assuming the drop rate is fixed: the 0.18% figure is a reported 2024 secondary-source estimate, not a guaranteed current official rate.
- Ignoring partial rank: a partially upgraded mod saves fewer resources than a rank-0 mod.
- Trading without account security: TennoGuard 2FA and the required Mastery Rank are mandatory for supported trading.
- Agreeing to off-platform payment: use only the in-game trade interface and verify the final confirmation screen.
