Abyss Points (AP) are AION 2’s currency for Abyss progression. You earn them from several Abyss activities—including duty missions, rift quests, supply requests, arenas, monsters, player kills and sieges—and spend them in the Abyss Shop on items such as Stigma Shards, Abyssal manastones, Daevanion crystals, PvP gear and wings. AP are separate from ranking points: NCSOFT’s February 11, 2026 update says PvP deaths reduce ranking points instead of AP, although the live rule can vary by region and patch.
What are Abyss Points in AION 2?
Abyss Points are an in-game currency connected to the Abyss, AION 2’s contested progression area. Your AP balance represents currency you can exchange for Abyss-related equipment and upgrade materials. It is not simply a kill score, and it is not the same measurement used for competitive ranking.
The distinction matters because the Abyss combines quests, structured activities, open-world combat and large-scale sieges. A player can accumulate AP through activities that do not require defeating another player. Conversely, a player may participate in PvP without treating ranking position and AP as the same reward track.
Available guides describe the exact rewards, caps and death penalties as region- and patch-sensitive. The client running on your server is the final authority for current prices and rules, particularly for the Global release.

AP versus ranking points
Abyss Points and ranking points answer different questions:
- AP: spendable currency used in the Abyss Shop.
- Ranking points: a competitive measure that affects Abyss standing.
NCSOFT’s official AION 2 announcement dated February 11, 2026 states: “Additionally, PvP deaths will now reduce ranking points instead of Abyss Points, and overall efficiency within the Abyss Corridor has been enhanced.” That wording describes a specific update, not a guarantee that every region and later patch uses identical rules. A current guide reports that Korea adopted the change in February 2026 and advises Global players to confirm the behavior in-game.
How do you get Abyss Points?
Current guides identify several AP sources. They fall into three practical groups: repeatable quests and requests, structured or instanced activities, and open-zone combat. The groups differ in how much PvP exposure they involve and in how confidently their published values can be applied to your server.
Duty missions
Duty missions are listed as Abyss activities that award AP. The Aion2 Guide, updated October 4, 2026, gives examples of 1,000 AP for a lower-layer duty mission and 2,000 AP for a middle-layer duty mission. Those are guide-reported examples; check the mission panel for the amount on your character because layer, region and patch can change the reward.
Rift quests
Rift quests provide another quest-based route. The same guide lists 2,000 AP per listed rift quest. Treat that number as an example rather than a universal rate. Rift objectives, availability and rewards can be adjusted, and the guide specifically warns that some Global values are unpublished.

Supply requests and regular quests
Supply requests and daily or weekly quests are reported as AP sources by current guides. They are useful for players who want a planned checklist rather than an open-world kill hunt. A quest route may avoid the need to win PvP, but traveling through the Abyss can still expose you to hostile players.
Arenas and other structured activities
Guides list the Arenas of Solitude and Cooperation and the Strategy Arena among reported AP activities. These formats give you a defined objective and schedule, but the amount awarded depends on the activity’s live rules. Do not assume that entering an arena always grants the same AP as completing it, or that every arena is available on every regional build.
Monsters in the Abyss
Defeating Abyss monsters is another reported earning method. Monster rewards are described as variable, and the current Global values are not fully published in the guide. Monster farming can therefore provide AP while avoiding deliberate player kills, but open-zone locations may still be contested.
Player kills
Player kills are included in the reported AP routes. They are the most direct PvP method, but they are not the only way to earn AP. A kill’s reward can depend on the target, activity and current rules, so a guide’s general statement should not be read as a fixed AP bounty for every opponent.
Sieges
Siege participation is also listed as a possible AP source. Siege rewards can be tied to the event’s outcome, contribution or participation conditions. Confirm the event panel’s requirements before assuming that simply entering a siege produces AP.

No reliable evidence establishes one best AP method for every class, region, patch or play style. A quest-focused character may prefer duties, rifts and supply requests, while a coordinated group may favor arenas or sieges. Compare the time, travel and risk of each activity on your own server rather than applying a universal farm ranking.

How do I get AP without PvP?
Start with duty missions, rift quests, supply requests and regular daily or weekly quests. These routes do not require you to defeat another player. Monster farming also avoids a deliberate player kill, although it takes place in an area where opponents may appear. If you want to reduce exposure further, choose objectives that can be completed in less-contested layers and travel with an escape plan.
- Open the Abyss activity or mission interface and identify available duty missions and rift quests.
- Check the displayed AP reward before accepting an objective; use the client’s number instead of an old guide value.
- Complete supply requests and any daily or weekly Abyss quests that fit your schedule.
- For monster farming, select a location you can clear efficiently and monitor nearby players.
- Return to the currency display and verify that the AP balance increased after completion.
“Without PvP” means the objective itself does not require a player kill. It does not mean the Abyss is a safe zone. Quests, monsters and supply routes may still place you in contested territory.
What can you buy with Abyss Points?
AP are spent through the Abyss Shop. The Aion2 Guide lists these examples:
- Stigma Shards
- Abyssal manastones
- Azphel Daevanion crystals
- PvP gear
- Wings
The guide reports Stigma Shard prices ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 AP. Those prices are guide-reported examples from 2026, not a promise of current Global pricing. Inventory, exchange limits and costs can change with a patch or differ by region.

How to spend AP safely
- Open the Abyss Shop from the in-game Abyss interface.
- Read the item description, purchase limit and any rank or character requirement.
- Compare the displayed AP cost with your balance and keep enough currency for a higher-priority upgrade.
- Confirm the purchase only after checking whether the item is bound, exchangeable or restricted to a character.
- Verify the item in your inventory after the transaction.
Do not budget from a screenshot or an older video. Shop stock and prices are live data, while the published 10,000–25,000 AP Stigma Shard range is only a reported reference.
Do you lose Abyss Points when you die?
There is no single unqualified answer for every AION 2 region and patch. NCSOFT’s February 11, 2026 announcement says that PvP deaths will reduce ranking points instead of Abyss Points. That is the official scope of the cited update. A current guide describes the change as applying to Korea and warns that Global players should confirm the rule in their own client.
Check the death or Abyss rules shown by your server before taking a risk:
- Look for a tooltip or rules panel in the Abyss interface.
- After a PvP death, compare both your AP balance and ranking-point total.
- Read the latest regional patch notes if the client’s wording conflicts with an older guide.
Do not assume that a ranking-point loss is an AP loss, or that a rule announced for one region automatically applies to another.

The Aion2 Guide updated October 4, 2026 distinguishes Korea and Global behavior and says some Global values are unpublished. Aion 2 Maps, updated September 28, 2026, corroborates several earning routes but labels its earning details as based on the Asian release. These qualifications are important: an Asian-release reward table can explain the system without being a current Global schedule.

Use published numbers as orientation, then use the client for decisions. The displayed mission reward, shop price, inventory and death-rule text are more relevant to your character than an undated community post.
A practical AP routine by play style
Quest-focused solo player
Prioritize duty missions, rift quests, supply requests and daily or weekly objectives. Record the AP shown before accepting each task and route several objectives through the same layer to reduce travel. Leave the area if the risk from enemy players outweighs the reward.
Small group
Combine structured activities such as the listed arenas with quests or monster farming during downtime. A group can respond to contested objectives more safely, but it should still verify completion conditions and reward amounts before committing.

PvP-focused player
Player kills, arenas and sieges provide direct competitive participation, while quests and supply requests can fill gaps between events. Track AP and ranking points separately so a change in standing does not appear to be a currency loss.
Large organized group
Sieges may fit a coordinated schedule, but event rewards can depend on participation and outcome. Keep a repeatable quest route available for periods when a siege is unavailable or its conditions are unfavorable.
Common mistakes and fixes
- Assuming AP only comes from kills: Check duties, rifts, supply requests, arenas, monsters and sieges.
- Confusing AP with ranking points: Track the two values in separate interface fields.
- Using Asian-release numbers on Global: Treat those figures as regional examples and read the live reward text.
- Planning around an old shop price: Open the Abyss Shop immediately before buying.
- Assuming a PvE objective is risk-free: Remember that quest and monster locations can remain contested.
- Expecting a universal death rule: Check your region’s current Abyss rules after each major update.
What you should verify in the client
Before building an AP routine, confirm five details on your own server: the AP reward shown for each available mission, the current rift and supply-request schedule, the shop’s item list and prices, any purchase or rank restrictions, and the consequence of a PvP death. This quick check resolves the uncertainties that community guides cannot establish for every region.
Bottom line
Abyss Points are AION 2’s spendable Abyss currency, earned through a broad mix of quests, rifts, duties, arenas, monsters, player kills and sieges. Spend them in the Abyss Shop, and keep them conceptually separate from ranking points. Because rewards, prices and death rules can change by region and patch, use guides to understand the available routes but use your live client to confirm the numbers that govern your character.
