Far Cry 6 does not have a cited native Android release. Ubisoft’s official launch platform list names Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia and PC, but not Android. On an Android phone, the practical options are Xbox Cloud Gaming or remote play from a computer or console.
Xbox Cloud Gaming supports Android phones and tablets running Android 12 or later through a browser at Xbox.com/play. Xbox recommends 5GHz Wi‑Fi or mobile data delivering at least 20 Mbps, and cloud gaming requires a Game Pass subscription. Streaming does not download the PC game to your phone, so there is no official Far Cry-specific Android storage figure.
Is Far Cry 6 available as a native Android game?
No official native Android version is identified in Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 launch materials. The listed platforms are Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia and PC. That means an Android phone should not be expected to install Far Cry 6 as a normal Google Play game.

How can you play Far Cry on an Android phone?
Xbox Cloud Gaming
Cloud gaming runs the game on Microsoft’s remote servers and sends the video to your phone. Your phone handles the browser, input and display rather than storing the complete PC installation.
- Operating system: Android 12 or later is the minimum stated by Xbox for cloud gaming on phones and tablets.
- Access method: Open a supported mobile browser and go to Xbox.com/play.
- Subscription: A Game Pass subscription is required for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The plan must include cloud gaming, and Far Cry 6 must be available in your region’s current catalog.
- Connection: Xbox recommends 5GHz Wi‑Fi or mobile data with speeds of 20 Mbps or higher. Speed alone is not enough; latency, congestion and signal stability affect playability.
- Controller: A Bluetooth or USB mobile controller is the most practical way to play an action game designed for a console or PC pad.
Remote play from a console or PC
Remote play is different from cloud gaming. Your own console or computer runs Far Cry, while the Android phone receives the stream over the network. You need the game installed on the host device, remote-play functionality enabled, the relevant account signed in and a reliable connection between the host and phone. Storage requirements are therefore paid by the host console or PC, not by the Android handset.
Remote-play menus and supported devices vary by platform and software version. If you do not already own a compatible console or gaming PC, cloud gaming is the simpler route because it does not require a separate host machine.
Which Android phones qualify?
The defensible compatibility rule is Android 12 or newer, a supported region, an eligible Game Pass plan, a capable browser and a stable connection of roughly 20 Mbps or better. Xbox does not publish a complete model-by-model list on the cited mobile guidance, so no particular phone model should be treated as guaranteed without checking Xbox’s current support information and testing the service on that device.

Why a phone’s processor is not the deciding specification
With cloud gaming, the demanding rendering work happens remotely. A newer or faster phone can still improve browser responsiveness, display quality and battery life, but Android version, browser support and network quality are the first checks. A gaming-branded phone is not automatically supported, and an older phone is not automatically excluded if it meets the stated software and connectivity requirements.
How much storage does Far Cry 6 need on Android?
There is no authoritative Far Cry 6 Android download-size figure because an official native Android build is not listed. When you stream through Xbox Cloud Gaming, the complete PC installation is not downloaded to the phone. The handset uses ordinary space for the browser, Xbox web-app data and temporary cache, but the cited Xbox and Ubisoft materials do not publish a Far Cry-specific Android number.
Do not apply PC storage figures to an Android cloud session. They describe installations on a computer and are useful only if you are deciding whether a PC has enough disk capacity.

Why Ubisoft and Steam show different PC numbers
The 60 GB figure comes from Ubisoft’s 2021 PC specification for the base configurations. Steam’s current support entry lists 170 GB available space. Those values may reflect different editions, texture packages, updates, installation headroom or the way each publisher defines required free space. Neither figure establishes an Android requirement, and neither should be used to estimate the cache used by cloud streaming.

How to start Far Cry 6 with Xbox Cloud Gaming
- Verify Android: Open Settings, view the phone’s software information and confirm Android 12 or later.
- Update the browser: Install the latest available version of your supported mobile browser. Restart it after updating if Xbox.com/play does not load correctly.
- Check your plan and region: Sign in with the Microsoft account connected to an eligible Game Pass subscription. Confirm that cloud gaming is offered in your location and that Far Cry 6 is currently listed for your plan.
- Prepare the network: Connect to 5GHz Wi‑Fi when possible, or use mobile data that can sustain at least 20 Mbps. Pause large downloads and move closer to the router if the signal is weak.
- Open the service: Navigate to Xbox.com/play in the browser and sign in. If the site asks for account or subscription verification, complete that before searching.
- Connect a controller: Pair a Bluetooth pad in Android’s Bluetooth settings, or attach a compatible USB controller with the appropriate adapter. Xbox lists Backbone, 8BitDo and GameSir among supported controller manufacturers.
- Launch the game: Search for Far Cry 6, select it and wait for the cloud session to start. The first launch can take longer than subsequent sessions while the service establishes a connection.
- Adjust your setup: If controls feel delayed, reduce network congestion, switch from crowded 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi to 5GHz, or test a stronger mobile-data location before blaming the phone’s processor.
Controller choices for Android streaming
Xbox’s mobile guidance names Backbone, 8BitDo and GameSir as supported controller manufacturers. A controller that connects over Bluetooth avoids cables, while a USB model can reduce wireless interference but may require an adapter and consumes the phone’s port.
- Bluetooth controller: Convenient for phones used in different locations; charge both the controller and phone before a long session.
- USB controller: Useful when you want a direct connection, provided the phone and adapter support the controller.
- Phone-mounted controller: A telescopic design can make the handset feel closer to a handheld console, but confirm that your phone’s dimensions and case fit before buying.
Controller support does not create a native Android installation. It only supplies input to the streamed or remotely hosted game.

The game is missing
Check the selected Game Pass plan, sign-in account and regional catalog. A title can be unavailable because catalog rights differ by country, plan or platform. Do not download an unofficial APK as a workaround.
The browser will not start a session
Confirm Android 12 or newer, update the browser, sign out and back in, and try a private browser tab to rule out a damaged session cookie. Disable browser extensions or content filters that prevent the Xbox web app from loading.

Video is blurry or the session disconnects
Run a speed test at the place where you play, use 5GHz Wi‑Fi, reduce competing traffic and move nearer to the access point. A connection can exceed 20 Mbps and still perform poorly if latency or packet loss is high. Mobile-data performance can also change as you move between network cells.
Controls feel late
Input delay usually points to network latency, wireless interference or a congested route rather than storage. Test the controller close to the phone, remove unnecessary Bluetooth connections and compare a different Wi‑Fi or mobile-data location.
The phone becomes hot or drains quickly
Streaming keeps the display, radio and browser active. Lower the screen brightness, remove a thick case while playing, avoid charging under bedding and stop if the phone reports excessive temperature. These steps affect comfort and battery life, not the game’s storage requirement.
