The Westinghouse WRC913SB is a 90 cm stainless-steel wall canopy rangehood with manufacturer-rated extraction up to 850 m³/h, three fan speeds and either ducted or recirculating operation. Its published specifications make it a potentially capable option, but fit, exhaust routing and installation clearances matter as much as the headline airflow. Westinghouse’s product page currently points to a replacement, so availability may depend on your region and retailer.
What kind of rangehood is the WRC913SB?
It is a wall-mounted pyramid canopy in stainless steel, with a nominal 900 mm width. The model is best assessed as an exact-fit appliance: check the body and chimney dimensions against the available wall, cabinetry and ceiling space before ordering.

How much air does it move, and how noisy is it?
Westinghouse lists maximum airflow of 850 m³/h and sound levels of 61 dB on low and 71 dB on high. Treat these as manufacturer-published figures, not measurements made in a kitchen or a controlled comparison with other rangehoods. The available product information does not establish how the hood performs under a particular duct layout or cooking load.

Exhaust routing can affect both extraction and sound. The installation manual advises keeping the flue short, straight and unrestricted, with as few bends as possible. It warns: “Failure to observe these basic instructions will drastically reduce the performance and increase the noise levels of the cooker hood.” The statement concerns flue routing in the Westinghouse Installation & User Manual.
Can the WRC913SB be ducted or recirculated?
It supports both configurations. Ducted installation uses a top outlet and a listed 150 mm duct diameter; Westinghouse names AR610RK as a ducting accessory and describes ducting as optional. For recirculation, the product information specifies two AR610CF carbon filters. Verify that the exact accessory and installation kit are compatible and available for your location before purchase.

- Choose ducting if you can route an exhaust flue outdoors. Plan the route and required fittings before installation; long or obstructed runs can compromise performance.
- Choose recirculation if an outdoor exhaust route is not practical. Confirm the two required carbon filters are included or can be obtained, and account for their replacement and upkeep.
The manual specifies a 240 V, 50 Hz supply and a 10 A power point. It also lists items such as fixings, clamps, duct tape or cable ties, and ducting accessories among additional installation requirements. Check the manual and local requirements rather than assuming all installation materials come with the hood.
What clearance does it need above a cooktop?
The manual calls for the hood base to be at least 600 mm above electric burners or 650 mm above gas or mixed-fuel burners. It gives a maximum installation distance of 800 mm. If the cooktop’s instructions require a greater minimum clearance, follow that requirement. Have installation completed in accordance with local requirements.

- Read the installation instructions for both the rangehood and cooktop.
- Measure from the cooking surface to the hood base, checking the applicable minimum and the manual’s 800 mm maximum.
- Confirm wall, chimney and ceiling dimensions, plus the planned duct route or recirculation-filter arrangement.
- Arrange installation that meets local requirements and the appliance instructions.

Is the WRC913SB a good fit for your kitchen?
It may suit a kitchen needing a 90 cm wall canopy if its dimensions work, the installation can meet the specified clearances, and the chosen exhaust setup is practical. The published airflow and features are useful for shortlisting, but they do not establish comparative real-world performance. Check current local availability, written warranty terms and accessory compatibility before committing.

When comparing another 90 cm hood, compare actual body and chimney dimensions, airflow and noise figures under equivalent conditions, ducted versus recirculating requirements, installation clearances, warranty coverage and the size and dates of review samples.
