Sennheiser’s HDB 630 is a $499.95-at-launch wireless headphone designed for listeners who want detailed sound and tuning options without staying tethered to a wired setup. It combines a 42 mm dynamic transducer, active noise cancellation (ANC), and wired and wireless listening; the package also includes a USB-C Bluetooth transmitter. Sennheiser announced it on October 8, 2025, and says it began shipping through authorized dealers and its own site on October 21. Those are launch-era details, not a current price or stock check.
What Sennheiser set out to make
Sennheiser framed the HDB 630 as a portable option for audiophiles: a headphone intended to bring an audiophile-oriented presentation to wireless listening, while retaining wired connections and sound customization. The company’s product manager, Wee Hong Kuan, described the aim as letting listeners keep the quality they expect from wired headphones while enjoying it elsewhere. That is Sennheiser’s design goal, not an independent measurement of sound quality.
The launch announcement described the HDB 630 as using a chassis inherited from the MOMENTUM 4, with a customized acoustic system and acoustic treatments. Sennheiser says its 42 mm dynamic transducer is made at the company’s facility in Tullamore, Ireland. The manufacturer presents these choices as the basis for the headphone’s sound; they do not, by themselves, establish how it will sound to every listener.
What the HDB 630 offers
Sound tuning and connections
Sennheiser’s product page lists aptX HD and aptX Adaptive support, along with wired listening over USB-C or the analog input at up to 24-bit/96 kHz. The codecs are relevant only when the source device and connection support them; the actual available format depends on the playback chain. The supplied BTD 700 USB-C transmitter provides another way to connect wirelessly and is included in the HDB 630 package, rather than being a required separate purchase.
#1 Best Overall
- Audiophile tuning: Sennheiser’s in-house 42 mm transducer and refined acoustic design deliver a neutral audiophile sound with lifelike mids, stunning detail, and a wide, natural soundstage. With minimal digital processing ensuring pure fidelity true to the original recording.
- Wireless or wired: Enjoy high-resolution wireless sound with support for aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, especially when paired with the included BTD 700 Bluetooth adapter. For maximum purity, connect via USB-C for lossless listening up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
- Parametric EQ: Expert-level equalization lets you define frequency bands, widths, and filters to precisely shape your sound. Tailor bass, enhance vocals, or fine-tune for any genre, just like a mastering engineer.
- Adaptive ANC & Transparency Mode: Powerful noise cancellation blocks distractions without degrading clarity, dynamics, or balance. Transparency Mode instantly lets in surrounding sounds when you need to stay aware.
- Listen for days, not hours: A class-leading 60-hour battery keeps you going through long trips or work weeks. Just 10 minutes of fast charging adds up to 7 hours of playtime, ideal for when you’re on the move.
Noise control, calls, and battery
The feature set includes ANC, a transparency mode for hearing more of the surroundings, and microphones for calls. Sennheiser advertised up to 60 hours of battery life and seven hours of listening after a 10-minute quick charge. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s stated maximum, not a guarantee of the same runtime in every configuration or listening session. What Hi-Fi?’s 2026 roundup gives a 60-hour figure and says runtime falls to 45 hours with the transmitter dongle.
What comes in the box
Sennheiser’s launch announcement lists a 3.5 mm cable, USB-C cable, airline adapter, travel case, and BTD 700 USB-C Bluetooth transmitter alongside the headphones. The bundle supports several ways to use the HDB 630, including wired listening and wireless playback through the included transmitter.

How reviewers assess the HDB 630
What Hi-Fi? recommends the HDB 630 for audiophile-oriented wireless listening and praises its sound, but characterizes its ANC as “good” rather than “great.” That distinction matters if blocking noise is your main reason to buy: the available review assessment is positive about sound, but it does not present the noise cancellation as class-leading.

TechRadar reports favorable impressions of the sound-customization options and says its reviewer found the headphones comfortable during longer sessions. The same reviewer preferred the lighter, more comfortable Sony WH-1000XM6. These are editorial impressions, not controlled measurements or a promise that every listener will prefer one fit or sound profile.

Sennheiser’s product page displays the wording “A What HiFi 5-Star Award Winner” and an attributed favorable comment about the sound and included accessory. The available sources do not establish the award year or its full methodology, so the displayed claim should not be expanded into a dated award or broader ranking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Sennheiser HDB 630 worth it?
The HDB 630 is aimed at listeners who value sound tuning and wired as well as wireless use, and who want a supplied transmitter rather than assembling that accessory separately. Its launch MSRP was $499.95 in the US, placing it in the premium category at announcement; that price should not be mistaken for a current retail quote. Independent reviews support its appeal for sound-focused listening, while the reported ANC assessment is more measured.
