The available company disclosure does not confirm that a ₹10.07 crore GST demand was dropped. Rane Holdings Limited reported that its wholly owned subsidiary, Rane Steering Systems Private Limited (RSSL), received show-cause notices on September 24, 2026. The company described ₹10.07 crore as the expected financial implications, including a ₹0.92 crore penalty—not as a final amount payable. Its disclosure said RSSL planned to submit a reply; it did not report a later order.

What Rane Holdings disclosed

In a disclosure dated September 25, 2026, Rane Holdings Limited said RSSL had received communications from the Assistant Commissioner (ST), Royapettah South-I, Chennai, on September 24. The communications were show-cause notices under section 73 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

The notices concern alleged ineligible input tax credit under section 17(5) of the GST Act, 2017, for financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24. These are allegations raised in notices; the disclosure does not establish that an authority ultimately ruled the credits ineligible. Rane Holdings’ exchange disclosure is the source for the company’s account of the matter.

What the ₹10.07 crore figure means

Rane Holdings described ₹10.07 crore as the expected financial implications of the notices, including a ₹0.92 crore penalty. The filing does not call this a final adjudicated demand or confirm that RSSL must pay the full amount. A show-cause notice begins a process in which the recipient can respond; it is not, by itself, a final order.

What happens next

Rane Holdings said RSSL would file a suitable reply before the appropriate authority within the prescribed timelines, in consultation with its consultants and tax advisers. The located disclosure does not confirm whether that reply was filed or whether an adjudication order followed. A later company filing or the actual order would be needed to establish the outcome for these notices.

Do not confuse it with an earlier RSSL case

A separate report describes an earlier RSSL proceeding in which an order dated November 10, 2025 reportedly reduced a ₹20.21 crore show-cause notice to ₹1.09 lakh. That is a different matter. Its reported result does not show that the September 2026 notices involving ₹10.07 crore were dropped. The earlier case was reported separately.
