What is confirmed about WARDOGS Season 2?
WARDOGS is described on its official Steam store page as a 100-player, three-team tactical first-person shooter. Teams compete for a control zone, while players earn cash and experience through teamplay actions. Cash can be spent on equipment or vehicles and is described as persisting between matches. That is the published game loop; it is not a Season 2 unlock chart.
BULKHEAD announced Season 02 for October 15, 2026. Steam search results also identify an official Season 02 Preview dated October 9 and repeat that release date. The readable official material available on October 13 did not specify which levels, items, currencies, cosmetics, or other progression elements would reset or carry over.
That distinction matters. A release date confirms when an update is planned, not how its progression system will work. Until the official patch notes or shipped client show the rules, any exact Season 2 rank thresholds, weapon order, equipment prices, cash conversion, retained cosmetics, or reset exceptions would be speculation.

How to play WARDOGS with friends
The reliable process has three separate checks: server, faction, and squad. Joining the same session does not automatically guarantee that everyone is on the same team or in the same squad.
Route 1: Use Steam Join Game
- Have one friend enter a WARDOGS server.
- Open your Steam Friends list and use Join Game on that friend, if the option is available.
- After loading, check the server name or ID shown by the game. Do not assume the Steam join completed every grouping step.
- Select the same faction as your friends when the game allows it.
- Create or join the intended in-game squad, then inspect the squad roster to confirm every player is listed.
The current friend-joining guide warns that Steam joining can place players in the same session without guaranteeing the same faction. Capacity or eligibility rules can interfere, so the faction and squad checks remain necessary.
Route 2: Select the same server manually
- Open the in-game server browser on each PC.
- Search for the same server, using its name or persistent server ID where shown.
- Choose a server with enough open capacity for everyone. If it is full or nearly full, use another server together rather than repeatedly trying to force a join.
- Select the same faction, subject to the server’s capacity and eligibility rules.
- Create the squad or accept an invitation to the existing squad.
- Open the squad roster and confirm that each friend appears before moving to the objective.
A guide updated October 11 reports that Patch 0.11 separated Official and Community server browsers, improved Community search and filtering, and added persistent server IDs. Those interface details come from secondary reporting, so labels may change with the live client. The underlying checks—same server, same faction, same squad—are still the useful diagnostic sequence.
What to do when friends are split up
If you are on different servers
Compare the server name or ID shown in the browser. A Steam Join Game attempt may fail, expire, or send one player elsewhere. Have everyone leave and select one server manually, preferably one with enough spare capacity for the whole group.

If you are on the same server but different factions
Check faction placement rather than retrying squad invitations. A server may not permit another player on the desired faction because of capacity or eligibility rules. Regroup on a server with room, then select the same faction before creating the squad.
If you are on the same faction but different squads
Open the squad interface, leave an unintended squad if necessary, and join or create the agreed squad. Verify the roster after the change. Being in the same faction does not itself make players squadmates.
If the browser cannot find the server
- Confirm that every player is searching the same browser category, especially after the reported Official/Community split.
- Use the persistent server ID or the exact displayed server name where the client supports it.
- Refresh the list and try a server with available capacity.
- If the interface no longer matches these labels, follow the live client’s current browser and squad controls; the guide’s instructions predate the announced Season 2 date.
What resets in Season 2?
The exact answer was not published in the readable official information available before the announced launch. The official Steam store page confirms that cash persists between matches in the normal game loop, but it does not say whether Season 2 will preserve that cash, reset it, convert it, or treat seasonal balances differently.

What you should not assume
- Do not assume every weapon or equipment item will return to a fixed starting level.
- Do not assume cash will be converted into XP, Skills, or another currency.
- Do not assume cosmetics, vehicles, or account-wide unlocks are protected from a seasonal reset.
- Do not assume a reported reset applies to all XP, rather than only seasonal levels.
Before spending or planning around a reset, capture the current values shown in your client and read the official Season 2 notes released for your version. The client display is the final authority for what your account actually retains.
Reported Season 2 squad features
The October 11 guide reports a feature called Squad Intent. It describes preset public-squad intentions such as building, attacking FOBs, or welcoming beginners. According to that guide, Squad Intent is meant to signal a squad’s purpose to players browsing public groups.
The same report says Squad Intent is not a pre-lobby party queue and does not provide custom squad names. These details are secondary reporting based on an official preview or press conference, not a readable set of final patch notes. Check the shipped interface before relying on the feature, especially if you need a private pre-match party system.

The official Steam listing confirms online multiplayer with proximity voice chat. A headset with a microphone is therefore a practical optional accessory for coordinating with nearby squadmates, but no particular model is required by the published information. A microphone is not established as mandatory for every way of playing.

Voice equipment will not fix a wrong server, faction, or squad. Resolve those three membership checks first. Then verify the in-game voice channel, proximity range, mute state, and your operating system’s selected input device if friends cannot hear you.
Can paid unlock services or progression exploits protect your progress?
No. The official WARDOGS security and enforcement policy warns against paid unlock or progression services and prohibits exploits involving altered files or memory. Reported enforcement can include progression removal or reset, temporary suspension, and permanent account bans.
That makes third-party promises of instant levels, weapons, cash, or seasonal carryover especially risky. Use only the progression systems exposed by the game and official updates. A service cannot legitimately guarantee that an item will survive a seasonal reset when the developer has not published the carryover rules.
