Wardogs will get loadouts, Bulkhead Interactive CEO Joe Brammer has confirmed, but the studio has not announced when they will launch. The planned system will let players spend Wardogs’ in-game metagame cash on loadout slots, with no stated limit on how many they can unlock. Until then, the team is intentionally keeping players moving between weapons so testing produces broader and more reliable balance data.
When are Wardogs loadouts coming?
Loadouts are planned, but no release window or date was given in the report published on 14 October 2026. That means players should treat the feature as confirmed in development rather than scheduled for a particular update, season or launch milestone.
Brammer described loadouts as a convenience feature the studio intends to add through Wardogs’ metagame. Players will spend currency earned in the game to unlock them, rather than receiving an unlimited set of presets automatically.
How the planned loadout system is expected to work
- Unlock method: loadouts are intended to be purchased with in-game cash earned through the metagame.
- Purpose: they are designed to make switching into a preferred setup faster and smoother.
- Quantity: players will be able to buy as many loadouts as they want, or choose not to buy any.
- Timing: Bulkhead has confirmed the plan but has not confirmed when it will be available.
That optional structure suggests loadouts will be a convenience and progression choice, not a mandatory gate. The available information does not establish the price of an individual slot, whether prices will scale, or whether the system will offer a free starter slot.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
Why Bulkhead delayed loadouts
The delay is deliberate. Bulkhead wants players to experiment with different weapons instead of immediately saving one familiar combination and using it every match.
The studio applied the same rule internally. “Internally, we deliberately never gave the team loadouts,” Brammer said. His reason was straightforward: “If we had, everyone would have gravitated to their favourite setup and only ever tested with that.” Without saved presets, developers had to try more of the arsenal, which produced broader testing across weapons and combinations.

- Tri-mode Connectivity: Wired for Xbox, 2.4G & Wired for PC, and Bluetooth for Android. The G7 Pro supports seamless connectivity across Xbox, PC, and Android. Effortlessly switch between modes using the convenient physical mode switch.
- TMR Sticks: The G7 Pro features GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, combining Hall Effect durability with traditional potentiometer performance. This advanced technology delivers stable polling rates for smooth, drift-free gaming with low power consumption.
- Hall Effect Analog Triggers: The GameSir precision-tuned Hall Effect analog triggers provide unmatched smoothness and linear input for precise control. Featuring clicky Micro Switch trigger stops, gamers can easily switch based on their preferences.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate on PC: Experience ultra-responsive gaming with a 1000Hz polling rate on PC, available through both wired and 2.4G wireless connections. This ensures instantaneous input registration, reducing lag and optimizing your performance for the most competitive gameplay.
- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Bulkhead believes the public version of the game benefits from the same pressure while weapon balance is still being evaluated. Brammer said, “Right now it’s really important to us that players keep trying different weapons rather than settling on one setup, just as we needed our own team to, because otherwise it would heavily skew the balance data we rely on.”
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

In practical terms, a loadout system could concentrate play around a small number of popular builds. That would make some weapons appear stronger or weaker simply because fewer people were using them, while the studio is trying to understand how the full sandbox performs. Delaying presets gives the team more varied behavior to observe before convenience tools become available.

- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
What happened to the rebuy button?
Rebuy is still part of Wardogs, but it is less prominent than it was in earlier tests. The change followed pre-alpha testing in which some new players repeatedly purchased the same gear even while losing, rather than searching for better weapons or following the game’s unlock path.
Bulkhead removed rebuy in some tests and reported more positive feedback from new players, clearer use of the unlock path and improved sentiment. The feature was ultimately retained, but its interface position changed: rebuy now sits behind a less prominent button in the bottom-left corner instead of appearing as a major pop-up.

This is a different decision from the planned loadout delay. Rebuy remains available for players who want it, while the reduced prominence is intended to avoid steering inexperienced players toward repeating a losing setup before they understand their alternatives.
Current system versus planned loadouts
| Decision point | Current approach | Planned loadouts |
|---|---|---|
| Setup speed | Players must assemble or rebuy gear without saved presets. | Saved setups should make returning to a preferred build faster. |
| Weapon variety | The lack of presets encourages trying different weapons. | Presets could make it easier to settle on a familiar combination. |
| Metagame cost | No loadout purchase is available yet. | Unlocks are planned to use Wardogs’ in-game metagame cash; the amount is not stated. |
| Balance-data effect | Broader experimentation gives Bulkhead more varied usage data. | Concentrated use of saved builds could narrow the data, which is why the feature is delayed. |
| Player choice | Rebuy remains available from a less prominent bottom-left control. | Players may buy any number of loadouts or none. |
What players should expect next
The confirmed plan answers the main design question but not the scheduling details. Bulkhead has not stated a launch date, slot price, maximum preset size, equipment restrictions or whether loadouts will arrive before or after a particular test phase.
Best Value
- Multi-Platform PC Gaming Controller: Working with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices via Bluetooth, wired, and wireless dongle connections.
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Delivering enhanced recentering performance for smoother control and superior anti-drift capability. Plus, with anti-friction rings.
- 2-Way Trigger Lock: With trigger stops, gamers can toggle between short and long pull positions. Additionally, gamers can activate hair trigger mode by pressing M+LT/RT (triggers must be in the long pull position).
- 1000Hz Polling Rate: This ensures that your inputs are registered almost instantaneously, minimizing lag and maximizing your performance during competitive play.
- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
For now, the most accurate expectation is that Wardogs will eventually let players spend earned metagame cash on optional saved setups, while the current weapon flow remains intentionally hands-on. Players who want the clearest picture of the arsenal should use this period to test unfamiliar weapons rather than waiting for a favorite build to become permanent.
