Yes—but only in a Walmart U.S. store, and only in a specific direction: an associate may match an eligible, identical item sold on Walmart.com when the item is in stock and purchasable online at the time you ask. You must request the match at checkout before paying. Walmart does not match competitor prices, prices at another Walmart store, Marketplace sellers, or excluded Walmart.com promotions. Walmart.com orders do not receive a later price adjustment if the online price drops.
The policy details below come from Walmart’s corporate policy updated June 8, 2023, its consumer help summary updated June 7, 2023, and Walmart’s FAQ material. Walmart says it may change the terms, so check the live policy and ask the store about unusual cases.

What Walmart’s price-match policy actually covers
The U.S. store policy is a one-way match: you are buying in a physical Walmart store, and the reference price is Walmart’s own Walmart.com listing. It is not a general promise to beat prices anywhere else. The policy is easiest to understand as a purchase-channel rule rather than a broad low-price guarantee.

Local store prices can vary with inventory. The policy therefore does not create a store-to-store matching program, even when another Walmart location advertises a lower amount. A lower amount on an app, a shelf label at a different location, or a competitor’s website is not interchangeable with the Walmart.com offer the policy describes.

Requirements for an in-store Walmart.com match
Every condition needs to be true when you ask. If one is missing, the associate or manager can decline the request. The online page must be verifiable at that moment; a screenshot of an earlier price does not establish that the current offer is available.
You are making the purchase in a U.S. Walmart store
The policy applies to purchases made in Walmart stores in the United States. Walmart states that this price matching is unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The policy is not a rule for international stores or for a Walmart.com checkout. If you are using pickup or delivery, do not assume the store procedure applies to that online transaction.
The products are identical
The store item and the Walmart.com item must be the same product. Check every attribute that affects what you receive, including:

- Brand and exact model or model number
- Size, capacity, dimensions, or configuration
- Color or finish
- Package quantity and included accessories
- Version, generation, or other identifying specification shown on the package
A different color, multipack, capacity, or bundle is a different item for this purpose. Having a similar photograph or a nearly identical title is not enough. For example, a 55-inch television is not identical to a 65-inch version, and a two-pack is not identical to a single unit even if the per-unit price looks lower.
The Walmart.com listing is Walmart’s eligible offer
Look at who sells the item. A Walmart Marketplace retailer is a third-party seller, not Walmart’s own eligible online offer for this policy. The listing must also show that it is currently in stock and available to purchase, rather than merely searchable, out of stock, or unavailable for ordering.
Read the seller line and the availability message, not just the large price near the product title. A page can remain visible after inventory runs out, and a product can have multiple offers with different sellers. The lower offer is not useful for this policy if it belongs to a Marketplace retailer.
You ask before paying
Tell the associate at checkout that you want the Walmart.com price matched and provide the online listing or its current price. The policy describes a checkout-time request; it does not set out a separate process for changing the price after a completed in-store transaction. Ask while the item is still in the transaction and before the register finalizes payment.

How to request the match: a reliable checkout procedure
- Find the exact listing before joining the line. Use Walmart.com and open the product page for the item in your cart. Compare the model, size, color, quantity, and other identifying details with the store package.
- Check the seller and availability. Confirm that the offer is sold by Walmart rather than a Marketplace retailer, and that the page allows the item to be purchased now. Availability can change while you shop.
- Check the nature of the price. Make sure the amount is a standard item price, not a limited-time event price, clearance or Rollback price, bundle, rebate, financing deal, gift-card offer, percentage discount, or unspecified buy-one-get-one promotion.
- Keep the page easy to show. Have the product page open on your phone, with the price and identifying details visible. A clear listing helps the associate verify the request; it does not guarantee approval.
- Ask at the register before payment. State that you are requesting a Walmart.com price match and show the current listing. Do not wait until after the receipt is completed.
- Allow time for verification. Walmart says some transactions require supervisor approval. The associate may check the listing, seller, stock status, and item details.
- Accept the on-duty manager’s decision. The store manager has final authority under the policy. Walmart can limit quantities to one per customer, per item, per day, and the policy gives the manager discretion to resolve a particular case.
There is no policy-guaranteed online form, automatic checkout adjustment, or promise that every displayed Walmart.com price will be honored. A listing can fail verification because of its seller, offer type, stock status, product mismatch, geography, or another policy restriction. Build in a little extra time if the register must call a supervisor, particularly when you are buying several units.
Prices and offers Walmart excludes
The following categories are specifically outside the price-match policy, even when the advertised amount appears lower.

A normal Walmart.com item price can still be ineligible if the listing is not sold by Walmart, is unavailable to purchase, or does not exactly match the store product. The policy focuses on the offer actually being compared, so converting a promotion into an estimated per-item amount does not make it a qualifying price.
Walmart.com purchases and price adjustments
Buying online reverses the direction that the policy supports. Walmart.com does not price-match a competitor, a Walmart store, or another Walmart.com offer after your order is placed. A later drop in the online price is not eligible for a refund under this policy.

Geographic and quantity limits
Where the policy is unavailable
Walmart’s corporate policy says Walmart.com price matching is unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Treat this as a U.S.-policy limitation, not a guarantee that every U.S. location has identical procedures for unusual transactions. If a store is in one of those areas, ask about the current local rule instead of relying on the mainland policy.
Quantity limits
Walmart reserves the right to limit a match to one item per customer, per item, per day. The policy adds a quantity limitation in New Mexico for purchases made for resale. If you are buying multiple units, tell the associate your intended use and expect additional review. A manager may apply the quantity limit even when each unit otherwise appears to meet the requirements.

Manager discretion
Some requests require supervisor approval, and the on-duty store manager makes the final decision. The policy’s wording means a qualifying-looking listing is not an unconditional entitlement: the store must verify the offer and can apply the stated limits. A polite request for the reason and, where appropriate, supervisor review is more useful than repeatedly presenting the same excluded offer.
Examples: likely outcomes at the register
Likely eligible: same television, Walmart.com sold by Walmart
You have a television in your cart with the same model number and color shown on Walmart.com. The Walmart.com page shows Walmart as the seller, the television is in stock, and the online price is lower. You show the page before paying and ask for the match. This fits the policy’s basic path, subject to verification and the manager’s decision.
Likely eligible: identical appliance with a live regular price
A boxed appliance in the store has the same capacity, finish, model number, and included parts as the Walmart-sold listing online. The page permits an immediate purchase and shows a regular item price rather than a limited-time event. You ask at the register before payment. The associate can verify the details and involve a supervisor if required; approval is still not automatic.
Not eligible: lower price from a competitor
A competing retailer advertises the identical television for less. Walmart’s policy does not match competitor prices, whether the advertisement is online or in a competitor’s store. Showing a printed ad or a competitor’s product page does not change the reference-price rule.
Not eligible: cheaper Marketplace listing
The product page displays a lower offer from a Marketplace retailer. That is a third-party offer, so it is excluded even if the product description appears identical. Check the seller line, not just the headline price. If Walmart itself has a separate offer on the page, only that Walmart offer could be evaluated.
Not eligible: Black Friday price on Walmart.com
The online page shows a limited-time Black Friday amount. Walmart lists Black Friday, Cyber Monday, clearance, Rollback, and similar special-event pricing among the exclusions. Waiting for a supervisor will not turn an expressly excluded event price into a regular eligible offer.
Not eligible: another Walmart location
A nearby Walmart or Neighborhood Market has the item at a lower price. The policy does not match prices at other Walmart stores. Store inventory and local pricing can differ, but the policy does not provide a mechanism to transfer that lower amount to your current location.

Not eligible: online order followed by a price drop
You place a Walmart.com order and the item becomes cheaper the next day. The policy does not provide a later Walmart.com price adjustment. The store checkout procedure cannot be used to retroactively reprice an order that was already placed online.
Before you ask: a practical checklist
- Confirm you are at a participating Walmart U.S. store and not relying on an Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico exception.
- Compare the physical package and online page for model, size, color, quantity, capacity, and included components.
- Verify the listing is sold by Walmart, not a Marketplace retailer.
- Verify the item is in stock and can be purchased online right now.
- Check that the amount is a standard item price, not clearance, Rollback, an event price, bundle, rebate, financing offer, gift-card promotion, percentage discount, or an unspecified buy-one-get-one offer.
- Ask before the transaction is completed and be prepared for supervisor review.
- Keep the live product page open until the associate has finished checking it; an expired or changed page may no longer show the offer you intend to compare.
If the associate cannot approve the request
First, ask which condition could not be verified: product identity, seller, stock status, offer type, or another restriction. Reopen the exact product page and check the seller and availability fields. If the request still appears to meet the published conditions, ask whether a supervisor can review it, because Walmart says some cases require supervisor approval and gives the on-duty manager final authority.

If the issue is that the price came from a competitor, another Walmart store, a Marketplace seller, an excluded promotion, or a later online price drop, changing screens or asking at a different register will not turn it into an eligible match under this policy. The most productive next step is to identify whether a different, Walmart-sold regular-price listing for the identical item exists, while recognizing that the manager’s decision controls.

Can I price match several identical items?
