The vivo X300 is the smaller, lighter phone; the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a larger display and more explicitly detailed video modes in the specifications compared here. Their camera setups take different approaches, while advertised wired charging is the same. There is no verified like-for-like price gap: the available India snapshot lists only the Xiaomi at a price and reports the vivo unavailable in the stores checked.

Which phone is more compact?
The vivo X300 is the clear choice if you want a phone that is easier to hold or carry. Its listed body is 11.7 mm shorter, 5.68 mm narrower and 28.4 g lighter than the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Xiaomi’s 17.52 cm display is about 6.9 inches, compared with vivo’s 6.31-inch screen, giving it a larger viewing area on paper.
Both are specified with adaptive or variable refresh rates spanning 1–120Hz. Their stated peak brightness numbers are not directly comparable: vivo calls its figure local peak brightness, while Xiaomi describes a multi-scenario peak. Treat those claims as each manufacturer’s own specification, not proof that one screen is brighter in every setting.

How do their cameras differ?
vivo X300: high-resolution three-camera array
vivo lists a 200MP + 50MP + 50MP rear camera system and gives apertures of f/1.68, f/2.0 and f/2.57. The specification summary does not map those numbers to focal lengths, so it is not enough by itself to establish how the cameras compare for particular framing or shooting conditions.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra: distinct focal-length roles
Xiaomi specifies a 50MP 1-inch main camera, a 200MP telephoto spanning 75–100mm, and a 50MP 14mm ultra-wide camera, alongside Leica optics and style features. Those focal lengths make the listed roles more explicit: a wide view, a main camera and a telephoto range.
Megapixel counts do not establish which phone takes better photos. Sensor and lens design, image processing, focus, exposure and the scene all affect results. These specifications do not include standardized side-by-side image tests, so a camera-quality winner cannot be established from them alone.

The Xiaomi page lists 8K recording at 30fps, Dolby Vision 4K at up to 120fps, and Log video up to 4K/120fps. The vivo page lists MP4 recording, but the specification set here does not provide a complete resolution-and-frame-rate breakdown. That means Xiaomi’s available modes are more specifically documented in these sources—not necessarily proof of better real-world video.
Battery capacity and charging: account for the vivo region
vivo lists a typical 6040 mAh battery in most overseas regions, with a regional exception: 5360 mAh in Austria and Hungary. Xiaomi lists 6000 mAh typical. Both list 90W wired charging; Xiaomi lists 50W wireless charging versus vivo’s 40W.
Capacity and charging wattage do not predict actual battery life or time to charge. Those depend on usage, network conditions, temperature, software and charging equipment. Check the exact local model before relying on the vivo capacity figure.

A verified like-for-like difference cannot be calculated from the available price information. A 91mobiles comparison page accessed October 7, 2026 reports the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at ₹139,999 on Amazon India and says the vivo X300 was unavailable in the stores it checked. It does not provide a matching vivo price or establish equivalent storage configurations, so ₹139,999 is an India-specific third-party listing snapshot, not a universal current price or a confirmed gap. 91mobiles comparison.

For a meaningful local comparison, check current listings in your country for the same storage configuration, confirm the seller and model variant, and compare the final prices at the same time. Availability and pricing can change; do not infer a price in another country from the India snapshot.
Water resistance, software and regional details to check
Water resistance is not a promise of waterproofing
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 and warns: “The dust and water resistance is not permanent and may be reduced due to daily use.” Xiaomi’s IP68 statement is conditional on specified laboratory testing and warns against extending the claim to other conditions. Neither rating should be read as a guarantee against water damage in everyday use.
Confirm the exact regional model and box contents
vivo says the X300 package includes a case and a protective film already applied. Charger inclusion differs by region: its specifications distinguish Europe from other overseas markets. Xiaomi says wireless chargers are sold separately. Verify the package for the exact local SKU rather than assuming a charger is included.
Software names and features may also vary by market or version. The cited pages list Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for vivo and HyperOS 3 on Xiaomi’s India page; the available specifications do not establish update-support duration. Before buying an imported or region-specific model, check network-band compatibility for your carrier and the feature support applicable to that SKU.
